While you can control how your pizza is made: what is on it, how much of each, and either thin or thicker crust in either 6 inch or 11 inch, you will not confuse it with a fancy gourmet pizza of those high price shop. You order at the counter and they cook it in a high temperature oven while you pay, choose a table and get your drink. You go back to get your pizza in a box. If you are eating in, disposable plates and silverware. 11 inch made 2 meals for me since the crust is thin. I think next time I will try the thicker version. Warmed up well. Louder music is played and there is plenty of seating both high tops and regular tables. Plenty of parking in the back with few places on the front. This chain is one of the few custom pizza places left so it is worth the price. Since I have moved close, I will be back since I am a control freak when I get to, especially with food. I've been a MOD fan for a while now, and my parents gave my husband and I $20 in gift cards for Christmas. The Northville location is now permanently closed, so we drove about 25 minutes to this location tonight for dinner. It's now $8.99 for a small pizza and $10.99 for a large, so for that price, may as well get a large. They seem to have less toppings than they used to - I used to go to the Troy location, also - and they got rid of their cinnamon bread, which was a bummer, that was always really delicious. We also did a garlic bread which ended up being larger than I remember. I finished my pizza off with a pesto drizzle and it was delicious. This place was looking pretty busy so hopefully this location won't close. This is now the closest location to where I currently live, and Troy, Brighton, and DTW are still open, it seems. Overall I still recommend MOD for fast-casual pizza especially since you can put as many toppings as you want on it. read more

Our pizza was half naked. We got a gluten-free crust and vegan cheese. They left over an inch around the whole pizza edge, not even sauce on it, and sprinkled toppings like they were gold leaf flakes. Ironically, our kids "normal" pizza came fine, with cheese to the edge and ok toppings, and both were made by the same guy. I feel like we had a tasty crisp appetizer. Where's dinner? Still hungry. It was very fast service when you place the order online. When they made the pizza they forgot one topping on one of the pizzas and the drizzle on the other. It did taste good but was nothing to outstanding about the taste. When walking in to pick up the order the place was very clean. I have to say a am a little bit of a fan of these types of pizza places so my opinion is maybe a little bit more imbalanced than usual. I love the fact that they carry vegan cheese and that they also have salad options to make this place vegan friendly. I also always enjoy a good thin crust pizza which MOD does well. Now, don't get me wrong there are better pizza places that also offer great thin crust but at MOD you can get one in like five minutes which is great. I have been to this establishment a couple times now in the past few years and I have to say that it has always been good. This last time the person was very polite, friendly, and engaging ask if I would like more toppings and such. The place itself was pretty clean which is always nice because sometimes places like this can be lacking on that, and I always like how MOD seems part of the community with pictures of pizza art that people made behind the counter, stickers stuck on the counter, and picture wall. So, if you're in the mood for a quick pie to say, you should pop on in to this MOD and enjoy because odds are you won't be disappointed. read more

First and foremost we were greeted upon entering Mod Pizza, then we were able to get out pizzas made to order but the friendliest young woman was such a rare thing amongst young people nowadays!! Stopped in to grab some quick lunch while in the area. Now I've been to this location before and for the most part the staff is usually nice and quick to take your order. I usually always grab my food to go I have never dined in even the the inside is nice and clean. The ordering process is quick and easy, if I had to complain about anything it would be that when they make your pizza they give you the bare mininum of items. The Assistant General Manager Rin is very rude. She trains her employees in front of customers and the counter tops where the food is prepared is horrendous. I only wanted a little more ham on my MOD salad and she wanted to charge me extra because it was over the limit. I understand policy but it was 10p at night, they close at 11p. Her tone was condescending and she was dismissive. She said I couldn't speak with anyone else because she was essentially in charge. The food was great, but I probably won't come back because of her. This place is a push with Blaze. Same concept. Virtually the same taste. Basically you choose a size/crust style, a bottom sauce, all you could want toppings and assorted post bake drizzle of sauce. It works. I like that they have all kinds of different veggies than other types of pizza places most of all. It's the main draw for me. I always go original thin crust. The pesto is a great base for non tomato sauce people. Avoid just olive oil and/or garlic rub. It will make your pizza very dry even if you sauce the top. Best toppings in my book are the roasted broccoli, roasted red peppers, artichokes and the mama lils sweet hot hungarian peppers. I will add other veggies and of course, cheese, but I always have those four veggies. I prefer the ovalini mozzarella at Blaze but the hot peppers make up for it here. read more

I stopped in for a quick lunch and ordered a create your own pizza. I had chicken breast, ham and Italian sausage, olives, banana peppers, bell pepper and red onion. We got BOGO with the teacher deal in the app so I did curbside pickup. My husband got the Jasper (spicy chicken sausage) and really liked it. Not as many topping options as Blaze pizza, but enough to satisfy our wants. Our only disappointment was that the Deluxe "entree" salad was tiny. It would not have filled either of us up had that been our only entree. Good amount of toppings and flavor, but just small. Curbside was easy. I arrived and called to let them know where I was. They have good food and decent service. I sure wish we could eat here more often. They have a sign that says as many toppings as you want for 1 price. But, they limit the amount of cheese. One person in our group of 3 gets a 6" with pepperoni and extra cheese. They never allow the amount of cheese that we want on that pizza. We offer to pay extra for the cheese - denied. This Livonia location (Middlebelt near 96) has gone downhill. Very dirty - take a look up at the ceiling fans (there's about 5 or six over head). The grills are CAKED with 3-inch layer of dust - that's what is showering down on you and the food. BLECH! Apathetic employees and management. read more

I gave Mod Pizza in Northville 5* five years ago, but quality and cleanliness at this location has declined precipitously in the past few years. It used to be, you would walk in and several friendly employees would be greeting you as you came through the door. Then, your pizza was quickly made along a line with nearly machine-like precision. You then enjoyed your meal in a spotless dining room and were once again thanked by several enthusiastic employees as you walked out. Sad to say that is all gone. No more greetings at the door by now lethargic and listless employees who are disorganized and slow in the food prep process. The trash bins are overflowing and the tables are fllthy now. And forget about being thanked as you leave. So today for national pizza day we decided to try out MOD and it definitely didn't disappoint. We went with a Mega Caspian (bbq sauce, mozzarella, grilled chicken, red onion, gorgonzola and a bbq swirl finish) we ended up adding on the following extra toppings at no extra charge (SCORE!) roasted red peppers, klamata olives, mushrooms, canadian bacon and garlic. When we stepped up to the counter we were greeted by the very friendly and informative 'Dude on Dough Duty' whom we later found out is named Jack. Jack asked if we knew what the MOD Mega was and when we said no he kindly explained, "It's and 11" pizza with a layer of cheese and sauce topped with a layer of cheese and sauce" needless to say we were definitely on board for this. The pizza took about 5-7 min to be ready and was cooked inside a wood fire oven. Once my name was called we sat down and felt like we were in pizza pie paradise this national pizza day. All total the pizza satisfied the both of us and came in at a very reasonable $10.97. If you're looking for a wide variety of solid quality toppings, make your own and add on options, friendly service and a pizza you can pound on your lunch break then look no further. read more

I really enjoyed the wood fired oven pizza here. I just wish they understood that people who don't eat pork don't want their pizza cooked on boards that have had pork on them or handled by pork touched hands. Is it so much to ask for one station where you keep it pork free? My only reservation with coming here is that I cannot be sure the pizza will not have pork on it in some way and that really prevents me from feeling comfortable ordering the food. When I was there last I stood at the counter and watched them as they assembled my pizza and I had to constantly ask them please change your gloves since I just saw you handling pepperoni and I am not a pork eater. Mod, It would make sense that if a person does not eat pork and they asked you not to add any to their Pizza that you would understand to change your gloves as well as find fresh work tools for their order. I noticed you don't seem to have this problem for people who only want vegetarian pizzas.. even though you don't change your gloves unless requested then either. MOD Pizza is like my pizza paradise. It feels ike being a kid at an old-fashion sundae bar piling on every topping you can imagine, but better because it's pizza! It's quick and delicious. If it's not good, that's on you, because you're in control of every item and amount. Pro-Tip: if you check in on Yelp you receive a free beverage. After an exhausting full day outside, we slept in late. We actually slept in really late - I think we didn't leave the apartment until 12pm. That pretty much ruled out our original idea for breakfast. By that time, we just wanted lunch. Neither of us had ever tried MOD Pizza before so we decided to give them a try. I like the idea of assembly line pizza. This would NEVER fly in NYC because well... we already have awesome pizza. I opted to build my own and put every kind of meat I can think of. It was actually pretty good! I just wish the crust was thicker cause it made it really hard to pick it up and eat it. I had to use a knife and fork, which hurts my soul. But I get it. If it was thicker, it wouldn't cook fast enough to be an assembly line. Staff behind the counter was super nice and very friendly. Pizza was pretty good and made fresh to order. They have little pizza boxes for you to take your leftovers by yourself. I think it was the smallest pizza box I had ever seen! read more

Terrible. I hate to give it this receive but the service was terrible and the food paid the price. I placed my order online. When I arrived to pick up my pizzas, there were two people placing their orders. They received their orders and I was still waiting. Thirty minutes after I arrived I asked about my order. The lady boxing the ordered slapped my pizzas on the glass top. Then when I said I was missing my breadsticks, she checked the receipt and confirmed it (why would I lie?). After waiting again (for too long), I said to the same lady that my breadsticks still haven't gone in and my pizzas were getting cold. She said the breadsticks take longer...the breadsticks didn't even go in the oven yet! As I was asking for an explanation, she was mocking me and then my breadsticks finally came out of the over (they were burned, as you can see in the pic) and she slapped it on the counter. I told her that her attitude was terrible, especially because they screwed up the order. It wasn't mainly that the pizza was cold or that the breadsticks were burned...it was the lady's terrible attitude and the fact that the other employees saw her yelling at me and they did nothing to intervene. Disappointing that employees like that represent MOD. I really would have like to enjoy my pizzas and have had a better experience. I hope this helps MOD look into why type of employees they hire.
