This Uncle Andy's location in Farmington Hills cooks up a tasty pie. Always friendly service and helpful when I have a question. We need gluten free options as well...So I'm always asking something. I just ordered a regular square Hawaiian with garlic butter crust and it was delicious & crispy, just the way I like it. My husband loves the gluten free crust. I used to frequent their Clawson location because it's pretty close to me, unfortunately it closed a few years back. This location came up on Doordash and is only 10 minutes from my boyfriend's house, so we decided to try pickup on DoorDash yesterday. They have a deal online for $22.99 for a large pizza plus the triple cheese bread, we had a DoorDash promotion that made it a little cheaper than that but that's a pretty good price in general. I really love their Chicago style pizzas here but I figured we could try the Detroit one. Buddy's is the gold standard for us for Detroit pizza and this was pretty close to that, IMO. The triple cheese bread was also really great. They have quite a large area for seating as well which surprised me because the Clawson location was mostly just takeout. I saw on their website they have a deal on Mondays and Tuesdays for $12.99 for a large pizza with one or two toppings I think and that's a pretty good deal as well. Ordered delivery Medium Garlic Butter Parm crust on a Chicken bacon Mushroom pizza and a 10 piece wing. Pizza was good chicken on 'za was juicy and mushrooms were flavorful but 21 bucks for a pizza was high and it did feel a little sad opening such a small box. However my wings more than made up for any issues I had. At first i thought 11.99 for 10 wings is a bit high, but they surprised me with well prepared chicken and about 5 or 6 extra wings! I don't know why they did this or if it is consistently like that (I ordered at 5pm on a weekday?) but it put a huge smile on my face. Just incase they decided to bless me that day and no other day the wings are not worth over 1 dollar each they are yummy but small cant justify it when frozen delicious bbq wings from Sams/Costco are 13 bucks for 30-40 of this sized wing. BUT! I will be pressing my luck in the future. All in all good food, pizza flavorful not too greasy, wings taste good a filling meal but it totaled 41$ including the cost of top, that hurt. In a perfect world i think this order (med pizza & wings) would be 25 bucks, its good pizza but its not a buddys, little Italy's, or one of the many delicious spots downtown where you upcharge a bit for the experience. I don't fault them prices are high (my order cost about the same at hungry howies, but I'd say this was the better choice) but can't justify a 5 star seeing that price tag. We ordered the Family Feast deal which was a large round pizza with pepperoni and onion, as well as the stuffed cheese bread, and an antipasto salad. While In Farmington on a trip, we of course wanted to try a local hometown type pizza place over the typical Little Caesars, etc. After googling pizza places in the area, the reviews were pretty high on Uncle Andy's so we took a leap of faith and ordered pickup. Let me mention also that it was super bowl Sunday and they STILL were able to make us pizza!! Good attitude on the phone taking order, and at pickup. There were other cars/people waiting also, but they got it done in the time they said it would be. We ordered the XL square BBQ chicken minus the onions, added pineapple and let me tell you-we ALL said it was the BEST PIZZA WE EVER HAD! Also got the thunder sticks, and a Lg antipasto salad minus black olives. No trouble changing anything with our order-all delicious. Total order was $38.13-worth it for how good all the food was and the fact it fed the 3 of us with leftovers of everything for all 3 of us. Got pizza from here for the first time yesterday. My fiancé and I are avid Jet's deep dish fans but decided to venture out for his birthday, and we are SO glad we did! We each got a deep dish pizza and cheese bread. Even though I just got a square deep dish with green peppers, you can really tell the toppings are fresh (same goes for my fiancé's chicken and pineapple pizza). Good square, deep dish pizza. It was hot and fresh - perfectly made with each slice having at least 3 pepperonis. The thunder sticks were larger than expected, but delicious. This is a 3 star joint. The pizza is ok. I wanted to go with the supreme just to see how they loaded up the toppings. I was not disappointed. They loaded the toppings up as you can see from the pic. However, the toppings were lacking real flavor. Every pizza joint has lousy sausage. It doesn't even look like real sausage. What even is that stuff???? The pepperoni didn't taste like real pepperoni. I wasn't dissatisfied, but I certainly wasn't blown away, or even happy that I made this purchase. I was just ok with it. We decided to give them another try since we kept hearing about how good the Detroit style deep dish was... got a large supreme square and was very pleased this time. Still quite a bit of toppings but the thicker crust prevented it from getting soggy like the last visit. Overall pizza was great... fresh toppings and the prices are very reasonable. Of all the different types of pizza, the most forgettable is usually the cheap kind. The kind that has crust that's indistinguishable from the box it comes in, cheese made from the finest Brazilian rubber trees, pepperoni that seemingly comes from recycled wallets. The price point to create this is so low that if you sell enough of them you can sign any all-star goalie for your hockey team. Uncle Andy's may never buy the Pistons, but their goal seems to be more to make a pretty good pizza at a decent price. Fifteen bones gets you a large two topping pizza, cheese bread and a 2-liter bottle of soda. They do a thin crust, a deep dish and your classic Detroit brick pizza, all with varying success. I'm more a fan of their brick style, but whatever you order rest assured the cheese will taste like cheese, and the sauce will taste like sauce. That's a win when your cost per calorie for the entire meal is a fraction of a cent. The best part of the meal, however, is the cheese bread. With cheese, bread and sauce, it's essentially cheese pizza. But because you dip the bread into the sauce, it works well if you're like me and like your cheese pizza more heavily sauced than your average Rat Pack member. On my list of top 100 pizzas ever, Uncle Andy's is absent. But it's a decent enough pizza at a better than average price. read more

I kept hearing ads on 89X about this place and as it is not too far from my home I decided to order from there and was hooked instantly. Granted all I have had from there is their Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza and Cheese Bread, I am sure the rest of the menu is just as good. If you go to a place like Pizza Papalis you are looking to spend roughly $18.00 just on a Medium Cheese only Deep Dish alone. Sure it is a good slice of pie, but you can get the same quality if not better in my opinion with more toppings for much less at Uncle Andy's. For example, one of their specials is a Medium Deep Dish with 3 toppings, Cheese Bread, and a Large Salad for only $20.99 plus tax. That is a big difference compared to the other paces and just goes to show you that they offer great prices to their customers. This is definitely my top place to order from and I do my best to recommended it to everyone I know. So I am so split on this place that it's tough to describe how I feel. So first, my wife and I have been looking for a non chain pizza place that is local because as a rule they tend to be better. So I go on Yelp to get the nearby pizza places and this place pops up. Reviews were good so I thought we would try it. Went online and saw that they had an apple app so was super stoked to try it and thought it was cool that a 2 store independent was connected like that. I downloaded the app and tried ordering that way only to get to the end to discover that I couldn't place the order without providing my CC#. Um, not gonna happen. So not willing to give up I perused their menu and coupon through the app and figured I would call the order in for pick up. Found my coupon, called and discovered that the specials were out of date. Still not deterred I placed my order. Picked up my order which was ready on time and hot. Store has a couple tables but is pretty much a take out place. We got the Chicago style with 3 toppings and their cheese bread based on the yelp reviews. I thought the food was great. My wife thought that there were too many toppings but in my book that phrase does not belong in the English language when it comes to pizza. So very long story short, their tech needs to catch up to their capability but the food is great. read more

I have now been to Andy's three times total since my original visit. Needless to say I had to try a couple different things to get a good feel for their tastes, quality, timeliness and employee service. I have to say this is one really good pizza. Having tried the traditional round, pepperoni, and sausage twice, the second one with a tiny bit too much sauce, these were really good. I like the flavor of the cheese as it had some sweetness to it. The crust was just perfectly cooked with a golden brown and light crunch. The third time I had the square deep dish (Detroit style). It was the all meat specialty small. Buddy's may be the best in my opinion but Uncle Andy's is a good, kinda close, fast second. Along with the pizza I had to eat something a little more nutritious so I added the garden salad, individual. Nice and plentiful toppings. They had a couple other nice offerings for salads as well. I arrived early and sat in one of the tables in the lobby. Nice and small and comfortable. While waiting the staff was fairly chatty and nice which made the wait that much shorter. this paizza joint just topped my regular go to chains. Lot of different pizza options with Chicago style one of them. Sorry, I prefer the Detroit style! Going to have to try some of the sandwich items as well. read more

Hell. Yes. I've been to countless pizzerias in the area (not to mention in NYC and Chicago) and Uncle Andy's is pretty high on my list. The Chicago style pizza isn't 100% authentic, but it's damn good. For the price, you get a generous amount of toppings, and Uncle Andy is the only guy in Michigan who can cook this style thoroughly, without it being doughy or overcooked. Buttery pastry-like crust and a perfectly balanced sauce make this totally worth trying. The round pizza is a real winner. They don't go light on big-chunk toppings, and with coupons, you can get a better deal on a higher quality pizza than most chains. Speaking of ordering, their online ordering is excellent. The square pizza... not so good. I'd almost go as far as to say "avoid it". I don't really care for square pizza to begin with, but the one I ordered for the family was universally disliked. I've given this place about a dozen tries... half the time it is good, comparable to Jet's, but the other times I get crust that is over cooked and spotted with strange-tasting slighty green-ish black "spots"... We have been frequenting Uncle Andy's in Farmington now for a few years. I have never wrote a review before, but felt compelled after the service that we received last night. My 17 year old daughter was having an end of school year party at our home last night, so we ordered several pizzas for the guests. We also had some adult friends over. About 40 people total. The pizza was delivered fresh, hot and on time which was great, but if they could have heard the rants and raves by the guests they would have been very proud of the quality product that they provide. The square Hawaiian in particular was AMAZING! Super fresh ingredients, outstanding sauce, and the crust is great, with awesome delicately crusty cheesy edges. I can hardly explain how great it was, you will have to try it for yourself. Always fresh, always consistent, and always amazing. If you have not had Uncle Andy's then you are simply missing out.
