I've been here twice and had a mixed experience each time. Pizza and pasta are great but subs and salad are nothing special. Overall, it's pretty typical for the average pizzeria. PIZZA - 5 stars I bought a small chicken parmesan pizza which was delicious and, surprisingly, very filling. They are very generous with toppings to the point that they are constantly falling off the slice when you try to eat it. I'll definitely come back for more pizza. PASTA - 5 stars Terrific lasagna jam-packed with meat and cheese. One dinner serving is enough to feed two people. SUBS - 2 stars For some reason, every pizzeria seems to have the same problem with their subs. I got a steak and cheese sub--the bread was soggy on the bottom but dry and crunchy on the top. SALAD - 2 stars Iceberg lettuce with cheap tomatoes and a few white onions. Satisfactory. GARLIC BREAD - 4 stars I could barely taste any garlic but these breadsticks were still pretty good. I pass by Valentino's almost everyday to and from work but haven't stopped, until a few days ago. My wife and I wanted to try a different pizza place from the regular places and we are glad we did! My wife and I split a small pepperoni pizza and chicken Parmesan sandwich. The pizza was good and fresh. We really liked the sauce, as well! He chicken parmesan sub was really good. The chicken was delicious and cooked perfectly. Valentino's is a carry out restaurant. There is very little room for customers to come in and pay. Charlie's pizza sauce is rhe best compared to the competition. I was in Southfield and got a Shields pizza. While it was comparable in quality to Valentinos. the sauce was not as thick and rich as Valentionos. I know because I froze Charlie's sauce for the comparison. read more

We had an impromptu gathering at our house Saturday. We are new to the area so, I went to trusty old Yelp for pizza places that delivered. This place had a 4 1/2 star rating. Sounded good! We ordered two large pizzas because I saw a "two for deal" but the guy who took my order explained that because we were getting a pepperoni and a deluxe that he could come up with something better. How nice?! I gave directions that if we didn't answer the door to come around back and he kindly wrote that in the notes. Our pizza came in a reasonable amount of time. I was so busy hosting, I didn't get any until it was cold. Mind you, I don't even care for pizza generally, let alone cold. I had two slices of the deluxe and IT WAS DELICIOUS. I loved the sauce, the mushrooms were fresh, not canned, and the crust was excellent, not greasy like Jet's or the like. I told my husband this is the only place we can ever order pizza from. He was happy because we never order pizza for just us but I'm willing to di it because I've finally found pizza I enjoy and friendly service to go with it. We ordered 2 large pizzas, cheese bread, bread sticks, and a house salad. The pizzas... just needed something more to take them from a blah pizza to something amazing. When I lived in the neighborhood, we got Valentino's often, good pizza, on time, and great service. The owner, Chuck is an awesome guy, always will go the extra mile for you to make sure you are happy. The pizza is delicious, I had forgotten how good since I had moved away.
