She's also super easy to work with and made the inquiring and signing process easy. We actually signed the lease without viewing in person so that says a lot about the great impression we had of the apartment complex! We can only speak for our unit, but it was clean, spacious, renovated, and had more than enough space for 2 people. Good location, would recommend to friends and family. We were quite sad to leave!

Everything was constantly broken, and management couldn't afford to fix anything. It has the facade of luxury living, but it is actually run like an old motel. We can begin with the laundry room with two washers and two dryers for 40 people... one of which was broken and never repaired for weeks. Tons of my clothing was ruined by this 1980's setup. The doors to the stairwell are so heavy that they shake the entire corridor and building when they open and close. Not to mention that the walls are so thin and poorly constructed, I could hear my neighbor ripping the bong at all hours of the night. Good riddance ! And goodbye !

The facilities are impeccably maintained for a building that was opened in 2016. Having the property manager (yay Julie!) and facilities manager (yay Osvaldo!) live onsite makes a massive difference and it is very apparent in the quality and cleanliness of the common areas. Parking is included in the rent for a 1br, and there is secure package and bike storage. The appliances are nice; we only seldom needed to submit maintenance requests, and Osvaldo responded, and often resolved, the issues within 24 hours. Bing bang boom. There was an incident involving false fire alarms being activated multiple times across multiple weeks that has since been resolved. It was a stressful time for everyone involved but Julie did her best and at the end of the day the repairs appeared to be outside of her control. Rates for security deposit and other fees are reasonable for what they provide. I could go on and on (their tenant events, their small but mighty 24/7 gym) but that might make me miss it too much. Take an in-person tour here but keep in mind units go fast, and for good reason. Their rating is well-deserved and if I ever relocate back to the Peninsula it'd be hard to stay away. It was exciting reading the 5-star reviews and seeing photos of the beautiful apartments. We contacted SkylinePMG to inquire, and they worked with us and our move-in schedule. From that moment on we felt like family. The property managers Kay, Bruce, and Kash really care about their tenants and take amazing care of us and the property. The building maintenance crew are very quick to respond to any issues: Either a major appliance needing repair or a minor faucet adjustment, you can count on a fast response and quality work! Two-plus years later in this wonderful apartment we've called home, we have always felt taken care of and a welcome part of the community. This is a place where your neighbors say "Hello" and you have the chance to make good friends - like the members of The Cat Sitters Club, which we formed using posts on the Community Bulletin Board. We've also enjoyed the maintained Community Garden in the courtyard that was started by the property managers for the tenants. The garden has produced fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs. Peter in particular is so kind and such a gentleman always. I enjoyed the location since it is right next to the freeway, but you do hear the freeway (Give and take). The repairs were always done within a day and I really didn't have any major issues that made me feel uncomfortable. Give it a tour if you're looking for a nice apartment to stay in. I too saw poor online reviews of Ryan Tower before moving in, but chose to give the building the…read morebenefit of the doubt. Needless to say, I deeply, deeply regret the decision. Even if I could stay at Ryan Tower for a year for free, I'm not sure that I would. I want to document our experience so that it may help you in your decision-making. Our problem started from the beginning due to management's overpromising / misrepresentation. The apartment we got was in extremely poor conditions -- in sharp contrast to the photos/videos we received from management via email. We had to delay our move-in by almost a month while they worked to get another unit ready. We scrambled to find temporary housing solutions and storage space for our furniture . After moving in, the building has persisting plumbing issues. The toilet in our guest room constantly leaked waste water. It was disgusting. The maintenance crew came no less than 4 times and the issue was never resolved. We also had a leak from the ceiling that was never fixed -- after a few hours of heavy rain, water started leaking through the walls and from the ceiling of the bedroom. The maintenance team came to seal the ceiling with tapes, promising to return to fix the issue. They never did, and we had to remove the tapes ourselves after the rain stopped. Other reviews mentioned construction noise, which is also our experience. Any time there's construction on the same or adjacent floors, the noise makes it difficult to take work calls at home. The nightmare did not end after we moved out. We installed some paintings on the wall, and I suggested to management that we'd pay for a handyman to patch up the holes and get a professional cleaner to do the move-out cleaning. They assured me that it's cheaper to deduct the charges from our security deposits. Busy with our move, I returned the key to let Ryan Tower handle the cleaning. One month later, I got a call from a debt collection agency notifying me that we owe Ryan Tower money and our credit scores will be impacted. We received NO communication -- via email or mail -- from Ryan Tower. In fact, I was expecting my residual deposits to be returned to me, not to be charged an additional amount that become "uncollectible debt" that will drastically reduce our credit scores. Needlessly to say, this will set our home ownership plan back by years in an already difficult market in the Bay Area. Why did we put up with Ryan Tower for a year despite the terrible experience along the way? Honestly, I think we were just too naively trusting. We thought each problem was the last problem we'd face, and they were isolated events. But they are connected and point to the same root causes -- an old building with persisting issues that can't be fixed (without a complete redo), a management team focused on selling (window-dressing) rather than helping, and a transactional / zero-sum mentality. We said hi to the building manager and facility team every time we saw them. Being nice & considerate tenants who always paid a few days early earned us no brownie points. In fact, it didn't prevent Ryan Tower from inflicting serious harms on us. Thanks for reading. I hope my feedback will at least help some avoid making the same mistakes I did. I understand the building is old, but every other week is quite ridiculous. For how much this place charges for rent, the owners could easily do PERMANENT repairs instead of slapping a bandaid on it and causing constant inconveniences for its tenants on a weekly basis. You cannot classify yourself as "luxury apartments" with a rotting water system. Ownership, do the right thing and take care of this place. Oh and with the the remodeling of apartments -- if the noise (which is extremely loud making it impossible to work from home) affects any of the neighboring tenants, do the right thing and offer a discount on that months rent. We had construction going on for weeks and you can't even hear each other talk yet alone work. Again, the team working here is fantastic.

This level of miscommunication and lack of accountability is frustrating and unprofessional. I would not recommend based on this experience.

We stayed at Trestle on a short term lease while doing renovations. The property is well kept and…read morethe staff is pleasant. It is a good location. They have a few nice amenities, but we did not find much use for them. I would not recommend them for a few reasons: - Poor Onboarding Experience: I had to fill out a mountain of paperwork online using a very flaky website that did not make it clear what documents were needed or completed. And they make it sound like if you make a mistake they will not let you move in. - Noise: Building 1 is in front of a busy bus stop so you will hear beeping from the bus at all hours. There are also cars honking constantly when people make U turns at the nearby intersection. In the other hand there is no train noise even though it is adjacent to Caltrain. - Safety: The visibility of traffic when exiting the parking lot is very poor due to cars parked along El Camino right up to the exit. This makes leaving the complex very dangerous since you cannot see oncoming traffic on a busy road. The city repainted the curbs due to complaints, but on the wrong side of the exit which did nothing. It is a minor thing but the gates to the parking were frequently broken and the front doors were not very secure due to frequent deliveries and the doors being propped. - Mediocre Quality: The finishes in the apartment were cheap. There was existing water damage on the paint when we moved in. The appliances were a bit flaky. - Overpriced: We were paying a premium due to the short term lease and having a pet. We accepted that and those were the main reasons for choosing Trestle. However two issues came up that lowered our opinion of the company. First, when we needed to extend our lease by a month they offered a rate that was almost 2x so we had to find someplace else to stay. That was unreasonable given we were already paying an elevated cost and it cost nothing for them to extend our lease. Second, we cleaned our unit thoroughly before moving out and accepted we would pay something for the normal wear on the walls where furniture scratched the paint. Instead we got a large bill for full cleaning and full repaint.
