The staff here are wonderful people and they are always accommodating for even the person who is confused by the process. My neighbor waked his mom here and I saw first hand how well they were treated and how very professional they do treat everyone. Its still a bit of a 70's feel but nonetheless, what they lack in look (although it is tastefully done and very clean) they make up for in service. And I can appreciate how they can make a person who has died still look alive. (I once did make up for the dead so I can spot the ones who care) and they do so care here on how a person looks. My advice is though, always take them several photos of your loved one and if possible of different angles, this helps in the process of tonality and actual realness.

This place is beautiful and calm. The director, Jonathan is just the most sweetest, most helpful, patient and understanding man. I know it's his job but he really took the time to go through everything with us and made sure to make our arrangements perfect. We definitely felt more than just his clients and through these difficult times he made everything so smooth and easy. I cannot emphasize how detailed and perfect everything was. We had so many beautiful compliments from everyone who attended and our hearts were full with content despite the tragic loss we were feeling. I would say the only negatives were on the actual night of the wake he was not there but had a friend be there. She didn't seem to know what she was doing. The mic didn't work and she didn't know how to fix it. Also, she started cleaning like an hour and a half before our end time. I have a large Hispanic family and they brought lots of food so I guess I can understand why she started thinking we wouldn't end on time. But I told her my family would clean. She did apologize and stop but it irritated me at the moment. And the last annoying thing was ordering the death certificate afterwards. Erika made a mistake and ordered the wrong one so we had to wait another week. I would definitely say that the pros outweighed the cons. Highly recommend this place.

She was late for the private personal viewing and she did not have my sons body ready to view. After the service she kept giving me different excuses as to why it was taking so long for my sons body to be cremated. But I had used her before so I trusted her and didn't pay any mind to the delay. Once again I just lost my son and it was just hard to make sense of everything. 3 weeks later go by and the funeral home she rents for viewings in the north side contacts me. She rents another funeral home which is the option I went with. Funeral home #2 contacts me to tell me they have the cremation paperwork. I didn't know that was the delay, because Yari once again wasn't being honest with me. Well now the question was where is my sons body. Yari didn't properly store my sons body for over 3 weeks. Imagine how horrific just the thought of that is. I had to have another funeral home go pick him up and get him cremated. The 2nd funeral home was heaven sent. They helped me through everything and my son was cremated within a day. On top of that she asked to borrow money from me 2x. She called it a business opportunity. The first request was $30k and the second was $1k. I declined, but who has the nerve to ask a grieving family for money. Let alone when she had my son sitting around God knows where in her funeral home. Her license has not been renewed and ahe should not be in business. She should not be able to hurt anyone else this way.

Although we arrived on time, they still cut our service short just to move on to the next one. Her slideshow wasn't even properly set up. Only one screen was turned on, leaving half the room unable to see her photos and memories. That level of carelessness during a final tribute is unacceptable. There were no tissues for mourners, no direction or support from staff, and no sense of leadership to help guide us through such an important moment. The entire experience felt cold, rushed, and transactional. To make things worse, they removed one of her songs from the obituary without explanation or permission. That was a personal detail we carefully chose to honor her life -- and they simply erased it. For a service that cost nearly $10,000, we expected respect, professionalism, and a facility that reflects dignity. Instead, the aesthetics are dated, uninviting, and in need of serious investment. Too many different people to deal with when you're grief stricken. This resulted in fractured or downright miscommunication. Timelines were unclear adding to stress. Suffice it to say, this business needs to level up their front-office professionalism and processes. They need to understand that families are grieving and at their weakest point. I spent days working with the printer to get the obituary the way we wanted it. We missed the first hour to see my mom dealing with the printer. I cannot say enough good things about this funeral home and the kind people running it. My family I…read morehad the unfortunate task of organizing a wake and funeral for a loved one and happened upon Richard-Midway. It was actually the only local one we called (loved one passed away elsewhere) and we were certain right away. Jeff is the best at what he does. He went above and beyond to assist my family through this whole process, our meetings with him were hours long. I'm not familiar with any other experience to compare to, but he really did make it as smooth as possible under the circumstances. He facilitated the pick up of our loved one over an hour away without issue. He allowed us a private viewing before our loved one went to the crematory, to say our goodbyes. He reviewed all the necessary steps and kept us informed every step of the way. The evening of the visitation/wake we were greeted and assisted by Jeanette who was wonderful as well and really compassionate to our family and guests. They had all of our flowers set up beautifully when we arrived. It was nice to have the use of the whole funeral home for our service because there were small kids who were running all over the place and I imagine would be disruptive if a second family was also in the building having a service at the same time. They have a refreshment room in the basement with an automatic coffee dispensing machine in a room with some tables with chairs which was nice also. My family brought donuts. Our service was 3 hours which was the perfect length. The next day we had a funeral mass at Our Lady of the Snows church to which Jeff had everything brought over (we didn't have to take it from the funeral home the night before back home and to the church the next morning, he took care of everything) which was a huge help. Jeff did the readings for the mass as well. He was very warm and kind with my family and guests. God really made a special one with Jeff, we really appreciate him and all of his work on our family's arrangements. It really made a heartbreaking situation more of a beautiful farewell. My sister made the initial phone calls, and all went smooth. We met to finalize the arrangements on a Sunday morning and I really had no idea what to expect. Personally, I'd heard stories of inflated prices, funeral directors working the family's grief to leverage additional services and costs. NONE of those horror stories happened here. Andy was kind and businesslike- just what you need in this time. We had the facts, we had the choices we could make and he guided us through drafting the death notice. Everything came in at a cost that was at or below what we had expected. What impressed me most of all was how we were treated and even more, how my father was treated. We were given the space, and respect this occasion in our lives deserved. We were not directed or told how to do anything. The day of the service the gentleman that was there with us was also kind and helped us to give Dad a good sendoff. We were offered help in arranging pictures, flowers and music to our liking.
