We honestly wish we didn't have to give one star just to leave a review, this establishment deserves zero stars from us! We sat at our table for more than 20 minutes waiting on someone to at least ask us if we wanted water! The wait staff kept walking by us, making eye contact, yet nobody waited on us. This was our 1st trip into this restaurant, we were excited to try it. NEVER AGAIN! They weren't busy!! Our 1st impression wasnt a good one. First, the hostess acted ticked we were even in their establishment! I thought maybe "it's just a bad day for her, let it go ..." Next, we were seated only to wait for our waitress to NOT wait on us ... at all. After a long wait. we left and vowed to never be back. Can't rate the food because we never got served. Not a beer or anything sat there for 15 and not a single person came to the table and the 3 dingdongs at the front desk couldn't have cared less. I'm not a sports bar kinda guy. But then, Modelos is not a sports bar kinda place. Modelos is BIG, partially because everything's bigger in Texas. Big room with a tall ceiling, big seating capacity, large number of TV screens, including a VERY big screen on the freeway side of the room. And yes, sports on the TVs, but the cantina doesn't feel like a bar. Emphasis is on the food, not the drinks. And the food is mostly Mexican food, not much American bar food. The selection is smaller than what you'd get at Elena's or Casa Ole. On the other hand, this is a place to come with your buddies to hang out after work, whether to watch the game or not, and have some food on the side. I was trying to decide between the super burrito and fajitas. Reyse told me that the burrito is the most popular. I went with the beef fajitas. And they were good. The beef was pretty tender, and had a strong taste to it. Put the beef, sauteed onions & peppers, and rice & beans into the tortilla, and you're good to go. The quality is up there with most Mexican restaurants. As for Reyse, she was good, professional, and friendly. I went to Modelos its first year in operation, for an early lunch. As I was leaving, a lot more people were coming in. I wonder what it's like when a big game is on, like Texas v. Oklahoma, or the Astros trying to get into the playoffs, it's probably filled with people. With the high ceilings, I think that it might get loud but not uncomfortably loud. Food is Sysco quality at best, no love or drive put into it. It's a sports bar yet on a Monday night there's shitty music playing where as there is multiple playoff games on, yet the the shitty manager who's more concerned touching the girls won't play a games audio. The staff is inattentive at best, and yet there's 2 bartenders. I mean ur a sports bar,right? As an owner.....I mean, seriously? AWESOME place.! Probably 30 beers on tap 29 degrees with excellent food! Been there four times with a different menu item each time and they were delicious. The staff is dressed similar to a hooter or twin peaks attire. Sports bar with Tv's everywhere. Food was served in a timely fashion and great tasting! Modelos is a 4.5 star sports bar with 2 star service. I am new to the Beaumont area and stopped by Modelos for a beer and some food . I sat at the bar on a Thursday which was not unusually busy. The atmosphere and the mixed crowd gave this local sport bar the allure a small town needs. Unfortunately, the servers are too busy on their phones or chatting away amongst themselves instead of focusing on the customers. This vibrant bar is always lively but the inability to read the room is killing the servers. They either don't care or are too self absorbed to care about the clientele they are serving. Tonight was the worse night yet... came in for dinner and I ended up eating with nothing to drink because the server was too busy on her phone. Regardless of the service, I am respectful of the profession and I generously tip. Tonight was the first time I've walked out of a bar upset and without leaving a tip. I hope management pay a little more attention to how the servers treat their customers. read more

Walked in and sat at the bar, no waitress came to ask us what we wanted to drink. Had to flag a waitress down in order to get a beer she came back with a beer and menu waited 30-45 minutes and they didn't ask us if we were going to order some food. Really bad customer service would not recommend. read more

Drinks were cold and food was excellent. Ruby was the best, she took great care of us. We'll definitely be back.
