Slate is definitely one of those stores. I stopped in on Christmas Eve just to browse around and I wish I could have bought everything in the place! It is a pretty hipster little store, and everything inside would be both useful to have in your home and serve as a conversation starter with guests. The items are unique, interesting, and high quality. There are kitchen gadgets, bar cart fixings, home decor items, greeting cards, jewelry...the list goes on. It's a great store and fits well with the Church Street aesthetic.

After comparing prices, we found that Burlington Furniture was quoting us $2,000 more than a California company, even with shipping and assembly included. Still, we wanted to support a local business, so we returned to Burlington Furniture, and they agreed to match the competitor's price. We were given an estimated delivery date of 4/30. When we followed up, we were surprised to hear that our furniture wouldn't arrive for nearly two more months. We understand that delays happen, but we were frustrated by the lack of communication. I called the manager to get clarity and was told that the employee who gave us that update was no longer with the company. She promised to follow up--which she did--but she didn't provide a new delivery timeline. Instead, she told us the order wasn't actually delayed and that deliveries typically arrive two weeks after the estimated date. It's unclear why the original estimate wouldn't account for that window, and what's worse, I never heard back from the manager again. Ultimately, the delivery company brought our furniture just five days after the estimated date, which we appreciated--but the poor communication and lack of accountability from Burlington Furniture left a bad impression. We're happy with the product, but extremely disappointed in the service. Sadly, this experience has cost Burlington Furniture a customer.

The design and purchasing experience is fine- it's what happens when there is an issue. BUYER BEWARE: even with extended warranty purchase, the company contracted to perform repairs and service is ONLY in the state of Vermont once a month. They are not good at managing their appointments, and have been so far behind that we have found ourselves in the position of missing an appointment and waiting ANOTHER month. We are left with a less than two-year-old dresser (style now retired, to boot) with a main drawer that never worked, and has been repaired and scheduled for subsequent repair three times. Anyone handy with drawers????

After a month of shopping around it was clear that this was the best quality furniture in Vermont for the price and I was honestly tired of replacing my couches after only a few years of use. I have a weird space and I highly recommend taking advantage of the free deign services, the amount of options they have can be intimidating for the average person (and i am no expert!) but the designer really listened to what i wanted instead of trying to just make a quick sale. They came to my house (even though I live nearly 2 hours away!) brought big fabric, wood and carpet samples, measured my living room and even made a crazy realistic 3D layout for me. I really didn't expect this level of attention to detail from such a small operation, its big city professionalism with a mom and pop vibe. There was noting left to guess about, I could see everything in place well before jumping into the deep end. In my opinion the customer service was great, most furniture stores in the are would barely talk to me, I felt my needs were met and my money was well spent.

Home Goods is a great place to pick up cheap brand-name kitchen stuff and cheap pet supplies. Andy was extremely helpful in the showroom and showed me all the options without being the least bit pushy. The mattress was not only firm enough, but was in stock at the right price. The adjustable base that was ordered had a power cord issue, so Andy brought an upgraded version instead. The delivery went smoothly and Just a few days after my visit to the showroom. Andy and his young assistant removed the old mattress and box spring, and also rearranged two dressers to put the bed in my mother's preferred place. They were very professional and kind. In addition, they brought the old bedding back to the facility when someone there asked if they could have it! As if that wasn't good enough service, Andy came back again to adjust how the power cords were plugged in when the remote wasn't working. Quick fix. I highly recommend buying anything from Burlington Bedrooms; you will get awesome customer service and great products. Thank you, Andy!

They refuse to refund our money and the only statement we keep getting is that they will keep calling the manufacturer. Do not purchase anything here as there is a significant risk that you will be robbed of your money, and with little to no recourse. They are straight up thieves. We extremely disappointed and violated.
