Highly recommend!! I was recently looking for a couch and went into many different stores...all with crazy high prices. After visiting Modern Home Furniture I didn't find anything showcased in their store that worked with my space but their prices couldn't be beat! Summary: Worked with Modern Home Furniture for 10 months to try and get defects, present from delivery, repaired on a new, two-piece sectional. After help within the first 3 months of ownership, was ghosted for 7 months by customer service, prior to being told they were closing my ticket and suggesting I work with the manufacturer. We chose Modern Home Furniture because we try and support local businesses when we can. However, Modern Furniture has shown us that we can't trust them with the quality of their products or the manner by which they take care of their customers. Their behavior through this process was extremely frustrating and proposed resolution, unacceptable. We will be shopping at a more trustworthy and reputable store for future purchases and recommend anyone who reads this review to avoid headaches and do not give Modern Home Furniture your business. Overview: Bought a new, two-piece sectional from Modern Home Furniture, November 2021. Sectional was delivered December 2021 and upon assembly, noted multiple areas of damage and defects, with the most egregious being a 1 inch misalignment with the backrest of the sectional (see pictures). We immediately contacted customer service to create a ticket. Initially, customer service was responsive and, within 2 months of initial delivery, sent a tech from the manufacturer out to inspect and repair the couch. Tech completed some minor repairs, but was not able to fix the major alignment issue. He said he would include the unresolved issue in his report and to contact Modern Home Furniture within a week if we didn't hear anything. Modern Home Furniture failed to reach out for a month and only did so after we sent a message - they cited a medical reason for a delay in response and mentioned they would follow up with the manufacturer. After another month of no communication, we reached out again. Modern Home Furniture replied 7 months later to explain they were no longer working with the manufacturer. They also explained that they would then be closing our ticket and recommended we work with the manufacturer to resolve the issue. We have not reached out to the manufacturer, but find Modern Home Furniture's lack of communication and closing of the ticket, without a more certain or favorable resolution, extremely frustrating and unacceptable. We've purchased two pieces from Modern Home Furniture - a sectional sofa for our living room, and a dining set. We love both of these items! We're very happy with the quality and the customer service. The pieces are high quality (we have a 9-month old who is testing both of them daily). The first time we ordered, we found the delivery service they used wasn't able to deliver to our house, because it was blocked by power lines. So the delivery person hand-brought the pieces ~500ft up a gravel driveway to get it to us. The second time we ordered, we mentioned that the truck they used was too tall - so the owners personally delivered our next piece in a smaller truck, and helped us bring the items into the house even though we had just purchased the curb-side delivery option. My neighbor had a loveseat I liked and she told me she bought from this place. We checked it out on a weekend. They were busy, but once I stood at the desk we were helped quickly. While there is a tv screen on the floor to look at options, it had multiple other company pages open and when I asked about a loveseat the woman proceeded to open up her phone to show me something they had in the back, but showed me the competitor site/price and then brought it out to the floor for me to see. It seemed odd to be pulling photos from other sites, but maybe to prove the price here was lower? It is Ashley furniture she was selling me, so in theory I guess I could have just gone online to order but since she had one in the store we bought it. She told me in 2 days time they would text me to deliver. It took about 15 min to check out. Cash/debit are accepted but credit card is 3% add on fee. Everyone has an add on fee these days, but I paid with debit. And then my doubts started creeping in. Without the protection of using a credit card I didn't sleep well for a few nights. Days went by with no text about delivery. I tried to call but they tell you to text a number, who then texts you back later. It just said to wait, they would text about delivery soon. By now I'm thinking I just threw my money away. however, the evening of the 4th day I got a call asking if I had received a text. Nope. They then offered me delivery the next day. I accepted. Was told I'd get a call an hour before. Instead I got a text saying 24 min, but it was more like 45min. At this point I'm still nervous and reading reviews here just made me more stressed. Would they actually show up? The two guys were nice, and moved it upstairs with no issues. They did not uncover or haul away the trash but I was ok with that in these covid days. They did wear masks and we put ours on as well while they were here. Compared to other reviews I can't complain. I was in and out of the store in less than hour, able to purchase exactly the item I wanted, and delivery occurred by the end of the week. My stress about receiving my furniture however makes me leery to go through this again. I am super thrilled our situation went well, but the other reviews concern me. We measured to make sure it would fit through halls and doors but discovered too late that the sofa would not fit through the stairwell at my son's apartment building. When I sought a refund, the result was horrible. We ended up paying not only for the failed delivery @ $99, but a $200 restocking fee, the full $31 credit card fee, and taxes, for a total of $363 with absolutely nothing to show for it. We go to checkout and then they tell us it's not free delivery because we are 5 miles further than their range, the total cost then jumps from under $2000 to over $2000. First of all if you're giving out wrong information you should honor what you say, but this company is not reputable and won't budge. We receive the sectional on the day as promised and we notice that the arm rest is crooked, the stitching is uneven, it smells like mildew and nowhere on the box does it say the brand Cloud 9 like they advertised in store. We submitted a claim per their website within 24 hours to get a replacement. Didn't get a response in 2 days, so we called and they said they would remind them. Still haven't gotten a response so I guess we will just settle with the couch we got. By the time they open again on Wednesday, it will be past 7 days and we cannot return the couch per their policy since they won't get back to us- well played shady company! The shopping experience itself was good. We got our couches in less than two weeks, when the estimated time was 3-6 weeks. The negative was that when we went to pick up the couches, they were in half-boxes with a thin foam and plastic wrapped around them. This would normally not be a problem, but they make you sign that the furniture is in good condition. When I mentioned to the salesperson that I felt strange signing the paper when I had not actually seen the couches, she got offended and said, "Well, they just came off the truck and out of our warehouse, so there's no way there is any damage." It made me feel bad about even mentioning it. I'm sure you know where this is going. Yep, got home and got the plastic off and there was a large hole in the bottom of the cardboard and loveseat. It was after hours, and I had already had a bad experience with the person working there, so I didn't feel comfortable contacting them again. If I could give zero I would. I paid a deposit last year on a couch that they could not deliver. They offered to pick a new one or cancel the order and I foolishly opted to wait. Fast forward 2 days. I was furloughed so I asked to take them up on the offer. They then said it would be a $200 cancellation fee or I could have a credit. Seeing as I only had 560 or so in it, I took the credit. February this year I reinstated my order with the expectation (set by Nathalie) that if they could not deliver after 12 weeks I could have a full refund. Well 12 weeks has come and gone, no couch, no update and I'm on week 2 of attempting to get a refund. Their voicemail is full, they do not answer the phone and I have emailed numerous times. I was able to get through one time last week and escalated the situation to who I assume is the owner, she spent the entire "conversation" cutting me off and speaking over me. I told her she was cutting me off and just talking fast over me in which she again cut me off saying "well I'm Latina, I just speak fast" which is the oddest excuse for being rude I have ever heard. I have had to resort to commenting on all of their Facebook posts in order to get any response at all. I spoke to Nathalie yesterday and she said I now cannot have a full refund, only what I paid in February. I offered to pay the $200.00 cancellation fee in order to never have to deal with them again. She stated she will tell her managers "my offer" and call me back. I received no call back. They did however comment on my Fb post claiming that they have been trying to reach me and I should just go into the store instead of trying to "hurt them" and then blocked me from commenting on their profile. I purchased furniture from modern home furniture in Everett at the end of April. It was delivered may 2nd and I immediately noticed that the seat on the loveseat was crooked to the point that it's uncomfortable to sit in and many spots had threading come undone. I emailed them about it asap and did not hear anything for a week. So I reached on Facebook and then got a call to set up a repair technician to assess the damage. When the repair tech came over, he immediately saw the problem on both couches and said it was poorly made and would be timely and costly to repair and modern home wouldn't want to do it. It took 2 more weeks for them to reach out again, which I again had to message them on Facebook to get this response. Now it has been 2 and a half months and I was told that they would not repair it and I could not get a replacement because they don't have another in stock and aren't ordering more. Instead I could have store credit to purchasing something else that I did not originally want to purchase. We told them this was not acceptable through at least 5 messages, none of which were being responded to. My husband said that we were going to have to get outside help I guess and the owner sent me a message saying they aren't going to help us at all now and are documenting our "threat." This is the worst company I've ever seen and I can't believe they aren't backing their product and making us jump through these hoops. We purchased our sectional sofa mother day weekend. First we're promised we would be getting it on June 20th. Surprised no couch! Then I got a call saying it would be arriving on July 10th. This was 2 Weeks ago. A day before the 10th they send me an email letting us know we wouldn't be getting it! They don't even have Decency to call and let us know why it will be delayed even longer. This is disappointing for me to write, as I was initially very happy with my purchase and my experience at the store. I purchased a couch from Modern Home Furniture in late October. By December, there are multiple flaws, the worst of which is 2 nails sticking directly out of the back of the couch. My son cut his foot on the nails, requiring stitches and tetanus shot. Not only was this experience traumatizing to him, but also adding an unplanned expense during an already expensive month. I am deeply dissatisfied in Modern Home Furniture's response when I put in a claim. I asked to have the broken part of the couch (chaise) replaced within 3 days of this event occurring. I still have not received an answer. So I have a brand new couch covered with duct tape in order to prevent another injury from happening. There is also a gap in the chaise as well as exposed wood. DO NOT TRUST THIS STORE: I purchased an item a few days ago to be assembled on my own. Went I started, there was one instruction for chairs. No instructions for table connection or cabinet assembly. Upon reading my only instruction I found there 4 needed pieces not in the box. My cabinet has no knobs or required screws to connect the table. The table weighs at least 30X the weight as the end piece, but once again, no way to connect it to frame. Not including they billed me three times, when it was suppose to be once. In the end, I have to go to my bank, return a table that's impossible to assemble, but wait! They want to bill me to have someone set up my table or pay a 20% restock fee. This was a scam from the start. They send you home with crap, then charge you to assemble. I imagine they will magically have the missing pieces if the come out to my home. Delivery was scheduled fast but the time frame sucked. They said anytime from 11-7 they came around 4. Kinda wasted half my day waiting for a call. The Bad. When i paid for the couch I saw it cheaper online somewhere by 50 bucks and they wouldn't price match it a few days after I gave them the money for it. 2nd the delivery of the couch took too long. 2-6 weeks it came on the last day of the 6th week and I had to call the warehouse and scheduled and get it going myself. The people at the store called me and were trying to tell me it'll be the following week. So the communication between them and the warehouse was pretty terrible but the guy at the warehouse who spoken to was awesome friendly and efficient. 3rd what was VERY IRRITATING is that in the fine print they said delivery is up to 8 weeks. Do not buy from this store!! Total scam. My husband and I bought a bed set that includes a bed, two night stands, and a dresser with a mirror. We received all the items EXCEPT, the dresser came damaged and the two night stands drawers keeps opening and its hard to keep couple of the drawers shut. The dresser has multiple cracks and it looks like its been dropped many many times. Idk how because its a very heavy dresser. Its very damaged. I dont even know how we can throw this in the thrash. Well? They have reasonably priced furniture , if you're on a budget. However, they're delivery fees are insane at over $200, unless you want them to dump what you've bought on the sidewalk (aka "curbside"), and they'll charge you if you use a credit card @ 3%. I went else where, got twice the product at less than half the delivery fee and no charge for using a credit card. They claim they're having issues with their delivery people. Although, our sectional sofa came almost seven months late but, we understood due to the circumstances with covid and followed with another order of our queen bed. Which came in a timely manner. Upon my husband and I expecting our next child, we informed the sales person that we only want to buy a bed and mattress that is currently in stock. So, we paid for the bed and mattress in full. While I made the payment, I overheard a conversation from another customer complaining to the supervisor that they were not informed that their furniture would not come in and if it wasn't for the help of Melissa, they would have never known. Melissa has helped us before and she is amazing! They also stated the called numerous of times and no one picked up. We were told that we would hear from them within a week after the payment. We heard nothing. So we called to inquire on the status of our purchase the receptionist apologized and stated that there were a lot of call outs. Also, that was she was unsure but she would check with the warehouse again and she would get back to us. We didn't hear anything after that point, so my husband called and they still didn't have a clear answer for us. She asked my husband to call 10 minutes before closing and that the supervisor was right in front of her. That he/she would get back to us after they were done helping the customer. We didn't hear from them. We called after a few days after and they hung up on my husband. We are on a restrained on time limit due to my expecting pregnancy. I don't feel that we are responsible for fallouts. We tried leaving a voicemail on the sales phone or even the logistics but the voicemail is full. Which they are aware of, as I have brought this to their attention. I don't feel that I need to chase down their attention especially since I spent almost $2000 at their establishment. Honesty of when the time expected of delivery should be given and a sense of respect for their customers. Especially since we drove all the way their from Federal Way. We will no longer do business with this establishment and we no longer recommended them. They ask you to write a review after payment, but I had an instinct to wait and see how things went until after the complete process was done. They are now no longer answering our phone calls and we will definitely be paying them a visit. UPDATE: We found out they are SCREENING CALLS after placing a call on another phone number. We called the whole day and was not able to answer the phone. But, after seeing a new phone number suddenly they were able to pick up. Once I called, they receptionist wasn't even remorseful. Once we asked for a refund she stated that that they would charge us a 20% restocking fee! The audacity. BEWARE. I will report this business to BBB, just as many other clients have. read more

I've worked in sales for years and I assumed the old school ways of judging people by how they dressed were long over. We were re-organizing our whole house, doing multiple good will runs, etc. I had ordered a new desk online two weeks ago and it got lost in the mail. I'm working remotely still and needed one ASAP. We went in needing to buy something TODAY. Sure, we were in shorts and graphic tees while the couple behind us was dressed up. Guess which one was greeted with help immediately? After hunting down an associate, we were directed to go "upstairs" for desks before they walked off to help someone else and we couldn't find anything. We just left and went to Everett Office Supply and will have our new desk ready for pickup tomorrow. Train your people better. read more

7 years ago I had a great experience shopping at their original location... A few weeks ago, I ordered a piece of wall art from them, thinking they still have best prices, but later realized it was no longer the case. Most Ashley Furniture products are cheaper on wholesale websites that regular customers can order from. I first called, and no one answered during business hours, and then reached out via email to cancel an order. The item didn't ship or have an estimate of a pickup date yet. 3 days later I was informed the order would be cancelled with over a $50 fee. I have not heard of such practice from any other retailer. I bought few things from that store, had good experience TILL they sold me item with wrong condition then item in the store was introduced to me at purchace. Mattress was extremely firm. On the store floor it was lot softer. My nightmare began when I called them that the mattress was delivered to my house is wrong!!!! Costumer service was rude, don't care attitude. No solution was offered to me. Store is selling wrong or unneeded item then it is customers issue. NEVER EVER EXPERIENCED the service this store provides at the return or exchange service. Issues after 2 months of purchase still not solved. Communication with them terrible. Next step is the law suit case be open against that store if no resolution otherwise on their side. Horrible service! I bought a couch that was already available & asked if it could be delivered much later than they were able to due to me moving & was told that was not a problem especially since it's much later. A month later no call, no update on my delivery so I called myself. One lady said they don't deliver on that day so I will have to wait another week, another lady said it was delivered a month ago, & ANOTHER lady said she'll call me back in an hour... 2 days later still nothing. Lack of communication, lack of quality service. One lady was helpful but that's it! Please find another place to order. We definitely won't be shopping here again. read more

**70 DAYS OF HELL TO GET MY FURNITURE, FOLLOWED WITH A THREATENING DISCLAIMER UPON DELIVERY - READ FULL REVIEW** So much shabby and increasingly contentious customer service from Modern Home Furniture during this 10-week period, there's not enough space here to document it all, so I will try to stick to key points. They have two locations, one in Everett and one in Bellevue, owned and ran by the same owners. Order placed 06/07/18. Order arrived 08/07/18 at Everett store. That's 2 full months later, where it then sat 9 additional days. Finally delivered to me 08/16/18). 70 days from order to delivery. Sales Order (and store) stated 2 to 6 weeks to arrive. $2700 PAID IN FULL. My original order would have been OVER $4,000 had the sectional I also ordered not been discontinued (learned this weeks after ordering, only when I called for my order status. There's more. DELIVERY WITH A THREATENING DISCLAIMER! I paid an additional $129 for the "white glove delivery" and it still took 9 additional days after my furniture arrived at MHF to get me on the schedule for delivery. Finally, after calling MHF day after day, getting the runaround, no returned calls, forwarding me to voicemail and then, just hanging-up on me, nine days later, I received a call the morning of 8/16 saying "You are getting your furniture delivered today between noon and one." I was told the 3rd party moving company would call 30 minutes beforehand.*I did not get to choose the day as per stated on the Sales Order Form. I had prior arrangements that day but since I wanted this to be done and over with, I stayed home waiting for my furniture. After 2 o'clock and no sign of my furniture, I called MHF. They responded saying "we only give 5 hour window periods I don't know why anyone would say that to you." So I continued to wait. A little after 4:00 my furniture pulls up. I'm already late for work, but yay my furniture is here and I will no longer have to deal with this company. NOPE! They can't just let you have your prepaid furniture without making what was the worst purchasing experience of your life even worse... The delivery man hands me a form from Modern Home Furniture for me to sign, I look at it, thinking it's a simple "I RECEIVED THE FURNITURE" acknowledgement, but at the bottom of the form is this DISCLAIMER stating: "Customer agrees not to attack/criticize Modern Home Furniture and any of its employees, owners or partner companies on public forums, blogs, social networks, etc. At any time subsequent to this signing period customer agrees not to seek for SEO advice on SEO forums, blogs, community groups, or any social media in any way which brings bad name to Modern Home Furniture, owners, employees or associates. In case of breach of this clause by customer or by their associates it is the understanding that the customer will face a defamation suit in local court and pay Modern Home Furniture $10,000." I told the delivery person, "I'm not signing that. I already paid for my furniture, I signed the Sales Order Form at the store." The delivery man said "we are a third party moving company, we have nothing to do with MHF but we are told NOT TO GIVE YOU YOUR FURNITURE unless you sign this form." We are really sorry but there is nothing we can do." I called the store and was told "you have to sign the form or you don't get your furniture." I call MHF and try to reason with them. "Please, I just want my furniture. It's all right here ready to be moved in, I've waited so long, please just tell these guys they can give me my furniture. I don't want to deal with this any longer, this is uncalled for and I don't agree to it." What kind of company holds a customer's paid-in-full items from them like this? A company that knows its done wrong and doesn't want the public to know about it. This kind of scare tactic is meant to disarm the buyer while keeping future customers from an informed shopping experience.
