But I keep coming back because I get good haircuts there. The key to that is Jose, who is probably the best barber I've encountered in my 4+ decades. I like to call him 'The Professor', because he really is both a student and a master when it comes to hair. He's given great advice on adjusting my look when I've needed it, and always executes cuts efficiently and to perfection. It's worth calling with a day's lead time and requesting an appointment with him specifically (although I've also had numerous good cuts with other stylists). I notice other reviewers grumbling about having to wait. Well that's what happens when you show up at 11am on a Saturday. Would you rather go to the place that's full or the place that's empty? He cut my neck line in a V pattern, trimmed the sides down too low to the point it almost looked like a chin strap, cut into my mustache, squared one side of the beard and rounded the other. They now accept appointments which eliminates waiting and is particularly convenient for me since I am only able to get there on the weekend. You'll get to know Hector, the proprietor, as soon as you walk in. He seems to know everyone in town and you'll soon enjoy talking to him too. (He's an expert on sports by the way.) He keeps the shop in great shape and continually upgrades both the barber chairs and the seating if you need to wait. He pays attention to your needs whatever your style. He's also great with children and families. I was very lucky to find him from the day I moved to this town.
