I am writing this review as I sit in the chair getting my pedicure done. The man doing it has been so rough even when I let it be known that he is hurting me. First, when filing off my shellac he was too rough and filing directly on my cuticle. Then he applied wayyyyy too much pressure when pushing my cuticles back. Then came the nail file, which was rough. He'd separate my toes with too much force! And the "shin" massage was not enjoyable in the least bit. It wasn't until he used alcohol to clean my nails before applying the gel, that I could feel all the small cuts he created. I only came here because my usual salon was too busy. I will not be coming back. Also, they do not clean their tools or change out their gloves when working on other clients. I witnessed this! This is a huge OSHA violation. And I know this because i work in infection control. I'm so mad at myself that I didn't ask him to put on new gloves when I noticed that he was already wearing them when he took me back to be seated. read more

I have been searching for a great nail salon since moving from California and found this hidden gem in Lehi! The staff is so friendly and nice. They have a ton of colors to choose from to! I had a gel manicure and pedicure done as a walk in and it was fantastic. The pedicures are amazing, they use a scrub that smells like oranges and the massage feels great! Normally you have to pay extra for spa services like a scrub or longer massage but here it's standard and that is amazing. Salons in the area need to note their customer service because it's above all. The salon it self is beautiful and clean, it also has this welcoming vibe to it as soon as you walk in. It was one of the best experience I have had in a nail spa. I highly recommend trying Modern Nails out! They take pride in your nails and truly take time in making you feel like a valued customer. My daughter and I went to get a pedicure. We did not have an appointment and they were able to sit us at a station immediately. They heated the water too hot for my young daughter and my water was ice cold. We put our feet in the bath for about 1 minute - no time to soak and enjoy anything. Next the "spa pedicure" was basically a quick rub on the heel and file of the nails. The massage was punching our calves with little to no rubbing on our feet. I was extremely disappointed in the pedicure and will not return. There are a few positives: it was clean and the ladies were quiet but friendly. read more

Horrifying experience. I had a scheduled appointment, which when I realized was running late I called and informed them, and was told this wasn't a problem. We arrived and selected our colors and were then told to sit at two unprepared tables. My hand was immediately seized and she began very roughly filing my nails. It was so rough that my nail beds are still aching hours later. And at no point in time was there any true opportunity to soak my hands, to relax; get a hand massage; a wax dip, nothing. When I left I felt less relaxed and outraged by the amount of money I spent to feel borderline assaulted. If you want a semi decent paint job done in less then twenty minutes, come here, if you want to relax at all, go elsewhere. read more

Recently went to this salon with my friend to get a pedicure. It is a very cute and yes, modern, nail salon. Although, I am quite unhappy with my service. The woman giving me my pedicure didn't scrub my feet very well, and there is still a lot of dry skin on my heels (which is the most important part of the service if you ask me). She also cut something on one of my toes and I began to bleed, she did not say anything to me or apologize, as I watched her dip a brush in acetone and try to clean the wound. OUCH! That was extremely painful. I then watched her place that brush into a drawer without cleaning it. She then proceeded to rush away from me to move on to her next client, leaving me in the chair. What an unfortunate experience for such a new salon. Would not go back. read more

I'm never entirely sure how to review a place when I go for a super simple service. This is a nail salon, but they also do waxing, so I wandered in one morning to get my eyebrows waxed. There was no wait, even on a Saturday morning, which I appreciated. Then, a lady took me into their small back room and quickly cleaned up my eyebrows. Nothing much to say, really. They did a good job. Not amazing, but definitely adequate. The place seemed passably clean. The staff was nice as we shared a laugh over my anticipatory wincing and commiserated about traffic. Not really worth paying for dip if it comes off a week later when usually it lasts 2-3 weeks from other places in the area. I HATE getting pedicures because of my ticklish feet and 3 back surgeries that have not been successful. Once a year, I break down and go get it done just so my calloused feet don't rip my husbands fancy sheets to shreds.
