DO NOT USE!!! What started as a wonderful experience ended as a nightmare! I had several appointments cancelled after I had complications following my sinusoft procedure with Dr. Skarada. When I finally got in 6 weeks after I notified them of complications, my cone beam scan showed a blockage of my sinus and retained fluid in my sinuses. I was given a course of antibiotics and no one from his office followed up with me. My primary contacted the office to follow up with Dr. Skarada because she was worried about the absence of a care plan. It took 7 weeks for Dr. Skarada to make time to speak with her about my care. I have been suffering with debilitating migraines from the sinus pressure since April when the complications began and there is no concrete plan for my care moving forward with Modern Nose. I had to make an appointment at another ENT because of the absence of follow up care with Dr Skarada's office even after getting my primary doctor involved. read more

The staff were amazing but it's been two years since the balloon dilation to my sinuses and ears and I have had a sinus infection ever since. My ears ring and are plugged all of the time. My left sinus smells like a wet dog and it's painful all day every day. I get horrible bloody noses on the left and now I have to see an ENT to fix the issues I'm having. I have extreme dissatisfaction with the care my son received from Dr. Skarada at Modern Nose. Our experience has been incredibly distressing, and I believe the treatment provided was handled dishonestly and unprofessionally. Dr. Skarada significantly over-promised results while failing to deliver. Specifically, we were assured my son would be asleep during his procedures, which was not the case. Furthermore, after two unsuccessful procedures, Dr. Skarada informed us that a more invasive surgery was actually necessary--information that should have been disclosed from the beginning. He wrote in his chart notes after the procedure that I was informed, which I was not. He then wrote the date of the note as our discussion during pre-op, I never spoke with Dr Skarada during our pre-op appt! These errors led to my son being traumatized and requiring surgery at OHSU, where the surgeon had to use an ear tissue graft to replace tissue removed during the previous procedures. Additionally, I found the office's response to our concerns to be dismissive. Dr. Skarada avoided our second follow-up appointment once he became aware of our disappointment, and a member of the nursing staff referred to me as "mama bear" when I attempted to address these medical errors. If you have chronic sinus Infections, nighttime congestion, morning sinus headache or feel sick until you take a shower and take allergy and or decongestant - Go now! I've loved the care I've received so far, Dr Skarada is very helpful and his procedures and treatments for my allergies have been revolutionary. But contacting anyone who actually works here is like winning the lottery! Instead of reaching a direct line to the billing department, or the front desk, and leave a voicemail message, you are directed to some call center with someone who knows nothing about the clinic and it's services. They just take a number and your information. Honestly I think this is a waste of money for this clinic. I had to leave several messages just to get an appointment scheduled, or to ask a question. I have gone to several ENT docs. All they do is tell me to get Flonase and use it everyday. Dr. Skarada is the only doctor that had a comprehensive evaluation of my issues. Allergies and a CT scan. I then had the Sinusoft procedure which as been life changing with breathing and giving me more energy. This office has been upfront with me regarding billing and every medical procedure I have had. I can only speak to allergy testing and I never met the main doctor. Bad communication-all forms were sent to me via text (I had to screenshot and enlarge to read it), I didn't receive my results via email until the PA met with me and realized it hadn't been sent and although I was physically in the office and gave my insurance information over the phone, I got a call on my way home asking me to email them pictures of my insurance card. The allergy test-I spent a lot of time and energy answering all the questions on the forms, watching the videos, went off all meds for a week, met with two PAs via video and drove into their office, and the entire diagnosis hinges on a medical assistant running her hands over my arms for a quick minute and going back and forth on one of my reactions. I relayed this to the PA, who offered me options to retest, do more advanced testing or meet with the dr and she made it clear this would be on my dime and more expensive. I declined. So then she suggested I start the regimen they offer. It felt like a snake oil scam. read more

My wife was having sleeping problems and we went for a office visit to see what our options were. MNC is out of network for our insurance and we told the Dr that upfront. And we told him we were there simply to see what the cause could be and what are our options. He said let me look up the nose to see whats happening ill put it on the screen. Just like you would have your nose throat checked by your Dr during a office visit. It lasted just a couple minutes. We just received a bill for over $600.00 for an endoscopy and a office visit after we already payed out of pocket $140 at the point of visit for a recommended sleep study. The Endoscopy was $455.20 OOP. At no time were we told the endoscopy was a billed procedure. Much less he was performing an endoscopy. If you go here make sure you ask up front if you will be charged "For anything they do". We should have been told up front that this was a billed procedure. We could have made an educated financial decision at the moment. We have been told that other patients have also received similar bills for the exact same reason and were very upset. We have also been told that the MNC stance is it dose not matter and the patients have to pay it. This is a very deceptive business practice. Effective January 1, 2022, the No Surprises Act (NSA) protects you from surprise billing. read more

We set our appointment a week prior. Right before the appointment we get a call telling us we need to arrive 45 minutes early, on a Thursday afternoon. Because we didn't have permission from our employers to leave earlier than already requested, they said they would send it via email to be filled out. After filling it out in the parking lot of the clinic the system would not let us submit the document. When I expressed that to the admin team and asked for help, they said because the documents weren't finished, we were considered late to the appointment and had to reschedule, the next appointment wasn't available for another month. This is not acceptable. First of all, there should not be an hour of paperwork to fill out prior to an appointment, second it would be nice to receive a notice prior than the day of. read more

Dr. Skarada is a one of a kind doctor. He really knows his stuff. He's been highly educated, but, is so down to earth and real. He spends time with you and you can tell he really cares. You can be sure that he'll get down to the root of your problem. His whole staff is very friendly as well. It's not all about "how can we get a good rating" or how will I look in my next employee assessment? I'm 68 yrs old and have some very complex medical issues. I've had some very traumatic experiences with doctors and hospitals. He just plain cares and I feel safe with him. read more

He makes me feel informed and part of the decision. He also understands that despite being a specialist, the big picture effects everything. Total wellness and environmental factors are a major part of his approach. I also feel like a trusted partner in my care, rather then someone ho's just given instructions. If you want quality care at its best, this is where you go. Kristal in the allergy department is awesome and treated me today. She explained everything and started my allergy shots. Being a person who has never liked getting shots in his life to date, she did an outstanding job in giving them to me. He saved my mother's life! She had throat surgery by another doc. Don't know what happened, but something burst a few hours later and she nearly bled to death. Dr. Skarada was on call, and didn't hesitate to race to the hospital. In fact, it sounded like he was on the phone with the ER docs while speeding in our direction. Within a few hours she was was out of danger, all without using blood. He came out to the waiting room to fill us in on what happened around 11pm. This was after working all day.
