On Saturday October 12th I revisited the McHenry location in Modesto CA. My last visit did not go…read morewell sure to miscommunication between myself and the hair stylist. I wanted to give them another shot, plus they are closer to my home and have half the wait time than the other Modesto location on Sisk. I was greeted and treated by Shawna, she sat me down and I explained my last visit and showed her photos of what I wanted. She asked me to keep the photo open so she could reference it and got to work. She took her time, it was the longest I had sat in the chair before and I felt very taken care of. She lined up my beard well, I don't have a very bushy beard so she did it as best as she could and I appreciate that. There were some longer hairs left in my goatee but I clipped those myself at home, no big deal. However, here is where I have mixed feelings. She gave me the mirror and everything looked great, I thanked her as she removed the protective cover and she said we were all done. At that point my heart kind of dropped, because I specifically come to Sports Clips for the MVP. She never asked and I never requested, I assumed it was automatic that I wanted the Ultimate MVP haha but that's what happens when you assume. I motioned to the back and indicated I wanted the MVP treatment, she said oh okay and took me back. From that point on it was kind of awkward, I felt bad. She spent so much time on my hair because she thought that's all I was getting, which I appreciate and enjoy, but if I got that level of service and the extras I paid for, it would have been the perfect visit. So we go back, she gets me set up, hot towel on. She starts the face massage and I can feel the rhythmic count of 1-2-3-4 as she hits the checks, temples, etc and I'm thinking "oh great another robotic repeat the motions, no feeling or passion massage" which is not why I go to this establishment. If I wanted to feel like a burden I would have stayed home haha. But when it came to my hair, she did a good job of making me feel special and taken care of, she took her time and it didn't feel robotic or rushed. Once that was done we went back to the chair, where I was expecting my lovely shoulder and neck massage, but instead she tussled my hair back into the style I was before we did the wash and said I was good to go. I smiled weakly, went up front and paid my bill, leaving the highest tip option. Not because it was the best, but to give the impression I was a well paying customer, in the hopes that if I do return, I will get the full service I paid for. In total I was charged for the MVP of $32, plus the $10 beard service, almost didn't receive the wash and rinse, and did not receive the neck and shoulder massage. (Which again I thought was like automatic) All in all I might return, but I certainly will be very vocal about getting all of the services to match my amazing hair cut.

We showed up no more than 5 minutes after our check-in time. The WENCH that "greeted" me, was in the very back of the shop, (she was NOT with a customer), but did not come up to the front, rudely asked if I had an appointment and I said yes, and told her the name it was under. She didn't say anything, continuing to do whatever side work she was doing, left me standing for a bit, then snapped at me to sit down and wait. We waited for at least 10 minutes before she came to explain their late policy. They had two workers that I saw. The other worker was cutting a customer's hair. The rude worker was not helping anyone, and there was not a single other customer inside the shop. After she started lecturing us, we left. Apparently, this Supercuts does not want business. Get your act together and have some better customer service, for goodness sake!
