Because my English is limited and your Spanish isn't good either, I made sure to write down and translate exactly what I wanted to say so I could explain it politely: "Hi Mena, I called you but you didn't answer. Since I left work early, I came because I had the time. It's not a big deal, I just don't like my haircut because it's flat and I want layers." At first, even though you only wanted to give me a lesson on how to style my hair, I said yes, I wanted your help. But when you started giving opinions about my face shape and telling me you had already done "many" layers, as if to say I didn't need more, that's when I decided to tell you no -- because it's not up to you to decide whether I like my own hair or not. And honestly, if after 30+ years in this business you still haven't figured out how to treat your clients with respect, maybe you should ask for a refund on that "experience" -- because clearly three decades haven't been enough for you to learn. I only asked for my usual curtain bang trim. Instead, multiple professional hairstylists have since told me that what I received is a straight bang, not a curtain bang. They also pointed out that the bangs are uneven, don't frame my face correctly, are much too thick, and that hair from farther back on my head was pulled forward and cut into the bangs, making them far heavier than they should be. This completely changed the hairstyle I had spent so long growing out. I create content for a living, and my appearance is a major part of my work and how I pay my bills. This haircut has seriously affected my confidence and made it difficult for me to create the content I normally do because I no longer feel like myself. I even went to another local salon for a second opinion, and they confirmed the issues with the haircut and explained that there isn't an easy fix without waiting months for my hair to grow back. To the salon's credit, they did refund me after I reached out, and I appreciate that. However, a refund doesn't give me my hair back or undo the time it will take to grow it out. After everything that happened, I honestly walked away feeling like my concerns weren't taken seriously. I can't say why the haircut turned out the way it did, but after my previous complaint about the first bad haircut, it's hard not to wonder whether that played a role.
