It's not an easy decision to put your parent into a home, so I wanted to make sure I found the perfect one. Valley Comfort was it. The care and attention my parent is getting puts my mind at ease, as I know my parent is in the best hands possible receiving the best care. My parent seems happy, so I am too. Another big thing that made me choose Valley Comfort is the staff. Nick is awesome, when he took me on the tour of the facility, what really stood out is that he knew everyone's name. It showed me that they really take the time to get to know each person. And for the rest of the staff, they are all so friendly and extremely helpful. It makes it feel really family oriented. I know it's not an easy decision to put a parent or a loved one into a home. But Valley Comfort has put my mind at ease and I'm glad I have been able to count on them.

They assured me that they had staff and knowledge on how to distract him from doing this. After 5 hours into his care, staff began calling me stating they could not handle my husband because he kept trying to get out of the facility. From that day forward, I received 3 to 4 calls a week, complaining. The manager then contacted me 10 days into his stay that they would waive the 30-day cancellation notice. I had no where to take my husband, I'm 77 years old, need surgery which I had been putting off as I had no one to help me with my husband. I told them I would pick him up and when I was having a difficult time getting him home, I was told by the Director that I would be charged $35 an hour. So they basically kicked my husband out of their facility. They lied when they told me they had qualified staff to handle him wanting to get out of their facility. I had to rush over to bring him home as I could not pay $35 an hour for each hour he was there. They have refused to return my refund quickly, which is over $6000. They said it would take 3 to 3 in a half weeks to return funds. They cashed my $10,500 check within minutes of admitting my husband but now are dragging their feet to refund funds. I found a place to place my husband but I have no money so I am dealing with my husband all alone and I cannot do it. I cannot even make him cereal as I have a dislocated shoulder. All I need is my refund to place my husband in a home. I saw an old lady lying across a bench with her shoe off in a disarranged position. When I told Kim, the manager, she said "oh" and called out to staff to come and help this lady, so their quality care clearly is not good. They never told me it would take this long to receive refund if they kicked out my husband. This facility only wants to take care of Gravy patients. They cannot handle difficult or confused residents.

It really stood out to us how happy the residents were. Seeing them smiling, laughing, enjoying the activities, and spending time with their families was really heartwarming. It was almost like a big family hanging out in a family reunion. We met so many people. We were impressed by how the staff treated the residents. There was so much patience, kindness, and genuine care in the way they interacted with everyone. It felt like they truly cared about the people they were looking after. Which is why im taking the time to write this long review. As a family visiting from the outside, that was something we couldn't help but notice and appreciate. Everyone we encountered was incredibly friendly and welcoming . The hospitality from the entire team really made the event feel special. They even had classic cars displayed over the parking lot! Thank you to Sadie and the entire Dale Commons team for putting together such a wonderful event and, more importantly, for creating an environment where our family member feels valued, and happy. Unfortunately, I have never encountered someone who has demonstrated the level of disrespect and lack of professionalism that I have experienced with Patricia Hogan. In my experience, Patricia has been consistently rude and dismissive toward family members, disrespectful in the way she communicates with employees, and seemingly unconcerned with how her behavior affects the residents themselves. These are individuals and families who deserve to be treated with compassion, patience, dignity, and respect--not made to feel as though they are an inconvenience. After more than nine years of having my mother in this community, I know the level of care and professionalism this community is capable of providing. Patricia's behavior does not reflect those standards. In my opinion, she is simply not the right fit for a community that is responsible for the care, comfort, and well-being of seniors. Leadership in senior living requires compassion, professionalism, respect, and the ability to communicate appropriately with residents, families, and employees. Based on what I have personally witnessed and experienced, I have serious concerns about Patricia's ability to demonstrate those qualities. I sincerely hope these concerns are taken seriously because the residents, their families, and the hardworking employees deserve leadership that treats them with the respect they deserve.

If you are looking into care here, don't be mislead by their predatory and inaccurate prices…read morelisted. I received a referral from "A Place for Mom", who stated that their prices "start at" $4.5k/month for a shared room, and $6k/month for a private room. The correct prices are $5.5k/month for shared room, and $7k/month for a private room. When confronted about these price differences, The Grove doesn't control the prices listed through "A Place For Mom".... Yet they are partnered with them. There is also a $3,000/moth "Community Fee" that was not advertised anywhere. Additionally, they claim "Our services are all inclusive. This means that all of our residents' needs are met for one monthly amount. Unlike other care homes that utilize a point system to add charges to their monthly amount, we do not assess additional charges for any added assistance. Our residents' families appreciate the predictability of one fair charge per month for all services their loved ones receive here at The Grove." This is NOT accurate. They nickel and dime for basic needs and things they list as amenities. In addition to their $3,000/month community fee, they charge $300/month for Medication Management (what individual needing Memory Care could possible manage their own medications???). Medication management is a NEED, which should be included if they actually follow their "all inclusive claim". They're even charging residents to watch Television, making them pay for Comcast, which they don't even give a set price for. We won't be going any further with them because of their predatory pricing. They are taking advantage of desperate people. Disgusting.

During this time, I was under a lot of stress trying to oversee my parent's needs and was not the easiest person to deal with. The team at Gardens treated me with patience and respect as they knew it was an incredibly difficult time for me and they were amazing at caring for my parents. They showed my parents great care, love and dignity as they both approached the end of their lives. Thank you so much Gardens of Modesto for everything!! Special thank you to Rashmika, Praneeta, Marlene, Maria, Linda and Lindsay!!! I just found out today that Lindsay is the new Executive Director which is wonderful!!! Lindsay was incredible and always stepped in to help in every roll while my parents were there. I know the community is just going to keep getting better and better.
