Nick is awesome, when he took me on the tour of the facility, what really stood out is that he knew everyone's name.

Wonderful frontline staff, but recent changes and administrative disconnect are concerning…read more Our family is deeply grateful for the frontline team at Dale Commons. The caregivers, med techs, maintenance workers, housekeeping, laundry, dining staff, and concierge are absolutely wonderful. They are kind, attentive, and whatever shifts are happening behind the scenes, our mother's daily care has thankfully remained unaffected. However, we have serious concerns regarding the current executive leadership under the new director, Patty. In stark contrast to previous executive directors-who were frequently seen out of their offices, chatting with residents in the dining hall, bistro, or lobby, Patty is rarely seen. Having been in the community almost daily for many months, I wouldn't even be able to recognize her in a lineup. Furthermore, direct communication is a challenge; emails regarding community concerns go unanswered by her, although she apparently directs staff to try and resolve the problem. A recent policy change highlighted in the August 20 community meeting minutes, adds to these concerns. Management announced that Amazon packages will no longer be delivered to resident apartments, but will instead be left on a divider counter for residents to pick up themselves. Dale Commons is an assisted living facility. Many residents rely on walkers, wheelchairs, scooters, and canes for mobility. Expecting elderly residents with assistive devices to carry packages back to their rooms-including essentials like sanitary items, given that many no longer drive or have local family-is entirely impractical and creates an unnecessary burden. While transition to new apps or operational rules may be corporate decisions, they should make life easier for seniors, not harder. Overall, the general mood and warmth of the community environment feels diminished compared to previous years. We deeply appreciate the daily heroes who care for our mom, but leadership needs to step out of the office, improve communication and reconsider policies that directly impact resident accessibility and well being.

Unfortunately, I have never encountered someone who has demonstrated the level of disrespect and lack of professionalism that I have experienced with Patricia Hogan. In my experience, Patricia has been consistently rude and dismissive toward family members, disrespectful in the way she communicates with employees, and seemingly unconcerned with how her behavior affects the residents themselves. These are individuals and families who deserve to be treated with compassion, patience, dignity, and respect--not made to feel as though they are an inconvenience. After more than nine years of having my mother in this community, I know the level of care and professionalism this community is capable of providing. Patricia's behavior does not reflect those standards. In my opinion, she is simply not the right fit for a community that is responsible for the care, comfort, and well-being of seniors. Leadership in senior living requires compassion, professionalism, respect, and the ability to communicate appropriately with residents, families, and employees. Based on what I have personally witnessed and experienced, I have serious concerns about Patricia's ability to demonstrate those qualities. I sincerely hope these concerns are taken seriously because the residents, their families, and the hardworking employees deserve leadership that treats them with the respect they deserve.

If you are looking into care here, don't be mislead by their predatory and inaccurate prices…read morelisted. I received a referral from "A Place for Mom", who stated that their prices "start at" $4.5k/month for a shared room, and $6k/month for a private room. The correct prices are $5.5k/month for shared room, and $7k/month for a private room. When confronted about these price differences, The Grove doesn't control the prices listed through "A Place For Mom".... Yet they are partnered with them. There is also a $3,000/moth "Community Fee" that was not advertised anywhere. Additionally, they claim "Our services are all inclusive. This means that all of our residents' needs are met for one monthly amount. Unlike other care homes that utilize a point system to add charges to their monthly amount, we do not assess additional charges for any added assistance. Our residents' families appreciate the predictability of one fair charge per month for all services their loved ones receive here at The Grove." This is NOT accurate. They nickel and dime for basic needs and things they list as amenities. In addition to their $3,000/month community fee, they charge $300/month for Medication Management (what individual needing Memory Care could possible manage their own medications???). Medication management is a NEED, which should be included if they actually follow their "all inclusive claim". They're even charging residents to watch Television, making them pay for Comcast, which they don't even give a set price for. We won't be going any further with them because of their predatory pricing. They are taking advantage of desperate people. Disgusting.

I had left a review for…read moreEvergreen Assisted Living facility back in 2015, but I see that my review was moved to a facility in Georgia that may or may not exist. This facility is in Modesto, CA. I know it's likely that the staff has entirely turned over and that the attending physicians may no longer be associated, but I think it's imperative to inform the public about what kind of history this place has had. My brother deserved so much better than what he got from this location. My brother had been in the hospital from complications with diabetes and infection. He had his leg amputated below the knee. He had become extremely thin and frail from his illness and was sent to Evergreen to recover. With no one available to get him anything from the store, he wheeled himself up there. He tipped his wheelchair off the curb somehow and broke his hip. When he was able to get back to the facility they (attending physicians) refused him pain medication and (staff) refused to call an ambulance for him. They made him AMA out of the facility to take a cab to the ER. Memorial Medical Center refused to treat him. An angry (rightfully so) amputee in a wheelchair, with a broken hip was refused service by an ER! Unable to go back to this facility that forced him to leave AMA, he had to call another cab to take him to a motel where he fell again in the bathroom, exacerbating his injury. He was finally taken by emergency services to a real hospital, DMC, and was finally treated properly. Had to have pins put in his upper thigh, a hip replacement and everything. All of this to say, be very careful with this place. RIP, Rick.

The problem I find is that when I call to speak to my family member the staff love to dodge calls regarding attempts to reach my family member which is just intolerable...here you have someone who is ill and there's no way to reach him? The resident/patient phone line rings chronically busy...I don't know if someone is leaving the phone off the hook or what...but I never can get through to this person I care about. Some highly irresponsible people working there with bad attitudes who just do not want to do anything to help...VERY LAZY!
