Melanie proved her organizational skills the week of the wedding when we had to make the decision to move the ceremony indoors due to inclement weather. She spent countless hours on the phone with the florist and caterer to discuss these last-minute changes to ensure that everything was perfect. On the day of the wedding - everything looked gorgeous and the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were just as we had envisioned them. Not only did the majority of our guests comment that it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended, but also stated it was the most fun they had ever had at a wedding. Savvy Events will make your special occasion go as planned!…read more We decided to hire Savvy Events to be sure that someone could oversee our entire wedding. Our venue already came with a day of coordinator and our caterer had specific instructions for decor. However, we wanted to make sure that all those hours we spent getting everything just perfect for our wedding, actually turned out that way and not misinterpreted by something written down on a sheet of paper. We sat down with the Savvy Events team to review all of our décor before purchasing it all. Lisa and her team suggested some slight alterations to keep the theme consistent. After a couple of small changes we got all of our stuff in and completed all of our projects. We sat down with Savvy Events and all our other vendors for a final coordination meeting to be sure the timelines would work and that all the décor was going to be setup as expected in vast detail. Lisa even had to do some additional follow up with our DJ to make sure that everything went as expected. On the day of, all vendors knew not to bother anyone in the wedding party with any questions. All questions would be asked directly to Lisa and she would make any alterations to décor or timelines as she deemed fit. We could not have been in more capable hands! Our wedding day went fully stress free. Not a question was asked about what goes where or what we wanted to do about this or that. None of our parents had to lift a finger or be bothered with décor questions. Everything got setup correctly and all our guests enjoyed themselves immensely. Admittedly we are a very perfectionist and overachieving couple with sky-high expectations for everything we're involved in. Cristin was the only person we interviewed who could keep pace with us. We knew immediately that we wanted to hire her. We were looking for more than day-of coordination, but not full-blown concept development, and she was the only wedding planner we met who understood intuitively how to provide that level of service. She was professional all the way. I never got the feeling that she was trying to upsell me on anything, or trying to force me into booking her own preferred vendors. We had chosen most vendors ourselves already, but I did go with her recommendations for a rental company, lighting company, and florist. Every vendor she recommended was as professional and attentive as she was, which was a huge value-add for me since I didn't have to navigate Yelp to find quality vendors in my price range. The KW staff were all pros as well - Cristin brought 4 people with her to Laguna the day of our wedding, and they did exactly what we wanted them to do - kept everything running smoothly without bothering us or our mothers for anything. They aren't hovering in the background of our professional photos. They weren't barking orders at our guests. In fact they blended in so seamlessly that many guests either didn't realize they were there, or thought they were wedding guests! Finally, I have to commend Cristin for solving many last-minute crises that popped up. She was able to locate an ADA ramp for a wheelchair-bound guest less than 24 hours before the wedding, and she ran a lot of interference with the extremely rigid venue staff throughout the planning process. We'd book KW again, for a wedding or for any other event with extremely complex logistics. They didn't forget a single detail.

We hardly had two weeks for the event day and Johnell worked day and night to get everything planned and coordinated according to the theme of the party. She provided great suggestions like the claw machine, face painting and a magician. It was tough to get a magician in that short time period but she did her magic to find the best one for the event and it was great! All our 50+ guests who attended the party raved about how well the planning and coordination was done for a 3 year old's birthday. It wouldn't have happened without her! She also helped with my baby shower back in early 2020 when Covid didn't hit us yet. My husband worked with her to throw me a baby shower and it was amazingly done. She took the time to come up with a floral proposal that gave me options for my bouquet, the bridesmaid bouquets, the groomsmen boutonnieres, flower girl bouquets, mother corsages, and table flowers. The proposal was nearly ten pages long, and lovingly put together. We ultimately went with a plum, blackberry, gold, peach, coral, and cream palette with peach roses, ranunculas, scabiosas and peonies. The bouquets were loose, and very organic, like wildflowers growing on a vine. I loved it. Best of all? Liz worked within my budget and went above and beyond what was expected of her.
