This company is the worst!! I was looking to book a massage for my dad who had a health event. Be warned...the follow up is relentless. I'm talking calls and texts daily. I finally got around to finishing booking the appointment and received the attached follow up messages. The last one told me to put my card info in to book the appointment. So I did. THEN I got ANOTHER follow up call. I told the attendant that I had already booked. She said she didn't see it in her system and that they don't book via that link. So basically I've been harassed for 2 weeks to book a $49 massage and now you tell me that I've possibly been scammed?!?! I don't want anything to do with them. Went for my first visit today at this location... - waited about 5-10 minutes till someone came from the back to the desk to greet me and assist -got brought to the room to start my initial consultation situation. Everyone was very nice! Specially the girl that talks to you about your insurance coverage, she was so fun! - I originally signed up for a lymphatic drainage massage, confirmed this multiple times prior to my visit, was supposedly scheduled with their only person who does this, which was a women. -i am asked about signing up for their "care package" for 10 massages.. i declined because I hadn't had my massage yet to see if the vibes were right and that I liked the place. - greeted by a man (who was very nice) and walked to my massage room. Asked my pain points and where to focus... with confusion I asked, Is this not a lymphatic massage? He said no... that there must of been confusion with the call center... - I still got the massage from him and he was great, regular massage nothing special but this has nothing to do with him. -my issue is that I came in thinking I was getting something, that I tried to confirm multiple times, excited about, did my research on, etc... to not get that... The transparency is not there, the MULTIPLE text from this company from different numbers daily, was exhausting.. I really looked forward to this and was hoping to start a plan because I work right next to it and who wouldnt want a massage on their lunch break... but i declined when my initial experience was not even close to what I thought I was doing for the day. Bait and switch. Maybe they switched it up once I declined on the "care package" before getting the actual massage? Who knows... but what a let down... I started coming to Modoma in July 2020. I had heard about this place from my stepmom, it came recommended for people that have migraines which I suffer from. This is a wellness clinic so the massage therapy that's offered is pain specific. I had my consultation with Shareen (I believe that's how you spell it) and she drew out a treatment to help with my pains and tension. I started out coming twice a week for 6 weeks I believe and then once a week after that. I've gotten a covid antibodies test as well as routine bloodwork. They helped me learn that I had a thyroid problem and I've been seeing a specialist for that. Shareen is awesome! She definitely cares for the patients, she definitely doesn't beat around the bush which I appreciate. Kaylee and Tonya have been my main therapist that I see. If I'm wanting more deep tissue therapy, I see Tonya. I've developed GREAT relationships with both ladies and I know that I'm always in great hands. Since receiving treatment from Modoma, I've noticed my posture and muscle tension has decreased. Of course I have to play a part in that as well but I definitely give kudos to my Modoma care team! read more

Hi Modoma! After multiple calls and requests this is my only avenue to get someone to return my call and resolve my issues. I was a customer for about 5 years. I had multiple issues - the most egregious was one of your male therapists took a phone into my session. After calling multiple times someone finally called to tell me he denied it. My concerns were dismissed. I took off a year and returned only to have a run in with one of your care coordinator. I explained my blood pressure was high because I was out of meds and would be refilling my meds after meeting with my primary care physician on the next Monday. Stefanie was rude and condescending and refused to allow me to see my massage therapist. I left the office and called Daisy tell her I wanted to cancel my membership and confirmed I had 2 sessions remaining. I asked for someone to contact me because I wanted to let management know how I felt Stefanies behavior was unacceptable. Fast forward to 2 weeka ago. I noticed that a payment in the amount of 100$ was deducted from my account. I immediately called daisy who stated she told bri to work with billing. Nothing was done. So last week I called and spoke to Asia who said she was a manager. I asked to confirm and she said she was a manager- I explained that I was beginning to feel like my issues were being ignored and dismissed. She said she would figure out what was going on and would return my call. She never returned my call and I found out today that she was in fact not a manager. Today I called Daisy and asked who in hell do I need to talk to to get this resolved at this point it is more on principal. Julie then got on the phone and stated she was with a client and would get back with me afterwards. I confirmed- will this be today? She responded yes. It's now 8:30pm and no call. So in short, my only method yo have someone call me back and resolve my issue is to drag you online when a simple phone call would have sufficed. This initial issue started with your little nurse practitioner with an attitude on November 28th. It's now January and your lack of communication has resulted in this method of communication. So with this being said I'll continue to respond as such until you feel like resolving my issue. read more

I've had two appointments so far. The first massage was very helpful, I haven't felt relief like that in like 10 years! And I get massages regularly! NOTE: this is not a massage for relaxation. They are for people like me who have chronic pain and need attention to specific areas. As far as customer service, this place is really lacking. I've dealt with two different front desk people and both have been rude to me. I've called and called to reschedule one of my appointments and no one returned my call. I finally had to take time out of my workday to go to the office and reschedule. When I asked why my phone calls hadn't been returned, I was told that he was really busy and had a long list of phone calls to return. Not my problem! He offered no apologies. The text feature they use is helpful to a point, but eventually, I need to speak to a real person. I had an appt on Dec 30. It got switched twice on their end and then they canceled the appointment. I was told they would reschedule the appointment and it's now mid January and I have never heard back from them. I've called twice, left messages and sent a text thru their system. I had already met my deductible but now it started over in January - meaning the massage that they canceled won't be covered. Super frustrated and bad customer service to not call back your patients. read more

2 stars because the massages are great and very specifically tailored to your medical needs. Dr Sharise (sp?) is lovely and will listen and respond to your every concern. However, this location lacks 3 stars due to their poor customer service. I have been trying to get a hold of their resident prescribing doctor, Dr Grady Murphy, for weeks. The front desk staff refuses to have him contact me or give his office number out, and Jay (although otherwise upbeat and nice) decided to give me a fake number that he ADMITTEDLY GOOGLED to a different Dr Murphy, thereby causing even more confusion and embarrassment upon calling the wrong office. I just want to talk to the doctor, not get a million run arounds and fake numbers. What kind of front desk service would lie to you?! Not one I'd trust. This place is great! I came here for neck and shoulder pain. They gave me a comprehensive 18 week treatment plan. They do accept insurance, but since I have a high deductible PPO I have to pay out of pocket. However, Maddie one of the benefits specialist, arranged my care in a way that is affordable and she is monitoring my deductible limits so I can get some of the medical equipment I need at little to no cost. Katie, the receptionist is also fantastic. She always greets you with a warm and happy smile. She really cares about the patients and makes sure she sets you up with the right massage therapists. Ashely, is a TOP NOTCH massage therapist. I have never felt better since I've started seeing her! read more

I can't get over how clean and nice this gym is. It's small, not a lot of space and they specialize in group private training. Group private training has been 4 trainers on one person, or one trainer with 4 people, or anything in between. They have a 6 week challenge, which is there way to attract members. It isn't cheap, and they suggest training three times a week. They focus on core training, where my phyiscal theory has focused on my injuries. They are also really big on off days. They have classes MWF or TTS. Closed on Sunday. Their 6 week challenge is free if you lose enough weight (I don't remember what the exact deal was) or reduces your monthly rate. So far, I've lost about 10 pounds in 4 weeks. The challenge combines food advice with training. Their food advice is a small box, but they are willing to adjust that box as needed. read more

Signed up for Modoma after seeing a slew of FaceBook ads. Their business model is to provide massage services and then bill your insurance for them as medical treatments. So, basically you're getting free massage services. Sounds great, right? But there are some issues. First, the massages are pretty short. Although your appointment will be at 2 p.m., for example. The massage won't start until 2:05 to 2:10. I guess they think it takes 10 minutes to strip down. Takes me about 1 minute, then I lie on the table for 9 minutes waiting on the therapist. The massage will stop at 2:50 p.m., so you're really only getting about 40 minutes of massage. You can't really get a decent back massage in that time frame, much less a full body massage. Second, it is extremely hard to schedule appointments. The better therapists will book up a month in advance. They definitely need more therapists and better availability. Third, there is no way to determine whether you want a therapist until you've tried them because they don't publish their photos or reviews. So, you may get a fat girl who rubs her big belly on your head during the massage. Today will be my last session at Modoma. I had an 11:00 a.m. appointment for which I drove 35 minutes to arrive 5 minutes early at 10:55. 11:05: Upon inquiry, I was told the therapist was there but getting her room ready. 11:17: I inquired again and was told the therapist was there but they would check on the delay. 11:25: I was told the therapist wasn't there and I couldn't be rescheduled on a Saturday for 2 weeks. They offered a "free" massage for the inconvenience. Not sure how that would benefit me since the massages are paid for by insurance. I tried to schedule another day in the coming week at 6 p.m. They offered a dude at 7 p.m. on Friday. Nothing else was available, even though their "physician" established a twice per week regimen for me. Not sure how I'm supposed to do that if there are no openings. Overall, the entire experience was very disappointing. I guess the old saying, "you get what you pay for" applies in spades for massage therapy. read more

I e had good and bad massages from this place. Yesterday was the worst massage ever from Camille. A toddler could have applied more pressure. I asked 3 times for more pressure and my request were still not met. I mean at a lot of points she barely applied any pressure as if rewriting g her hands or something. At a couple points I heard the massage therapist wrists pop, so maybe her wrist were hurting and she couldn't apply that much pressure of any. I was very disappointed and did not even tip. If you like pressure ask for Aida. I usually see her, but apparently she works at different locations. If you want ANY pressure stay away from Camille. I'm not trying to be rude just honest. It was just a waste of time, gas and money and I wish I had gotten my money's worth. read more

When you confirm your appointment, make sure you have your calendar with you, because if you make a mistake on the date, you will be charged $50. However, if the office makes a mistake and does not verify your insurance correctly and makes you waste your time that day, nothing happens. I will never return to this location worst service from the person who calls by phone, they do not understand that we are human, and we can make mistakes like them too. read more

I have tried the make an appointment online twice. It was communicated that I would get a text message to confirm an appointment. I received no response for days. Then today, I received a phone call, and the caller left a message to call back. I almost immediately called back and got an animated response. I left my number and said I was returning a call. I have yet to receive a return phone call. Then just a bit ago, I received a text saying that the "vouchers" for the intro massage were running low, and they needed to know if I wanted it or they would give it to the next person on the list. As if I had not been responding to an offer. I responded to the text sharing my confusion that it was as if I was being threatened that I would lose the offer unless I responded immediately. I feel like this is all computerized and not being handled by an actual person. The whole process doesn't feel like a place to which I would trust my health care. read more

I heard about the "free" 6 week challenge that they have been promoting on facebook and was really excited to learn more and potentially find a new gym to call home. Of course nothing in life is free- but their ad clearly states that the challenge is free and just a way to get their name out in the community and in hopes that participants will sign up for a membership afterwards. I went in thinking there might be some kind of catch but had no idea they were going to want $700 out of pocket to participate in the challenge. That was option 1- 700 bucks and if you lose a certain amount of weight (I think it was 25lbs) then they will give you the money back. Sure the risk of losing $700 is a good weight loss motivator.. but that doesn't make it free. And btw this could cause some people to develop unhealthy eating habits by restricting too much just so they can get their chunk of money back. The second option was pay nothing for the challenge but sign a contract for at least 3 months of membership which is $250/month... lol. Just wanted to write a review with all the details that Modoma leaves out about their challenge so you don't go in for an orientation and completely waste your time if you're not prepared to shell out 700 bucks. Besides the annoyance of false advertising and disappointment that I'm not rich enough for this gym.. it seemed really pretty and clean and I like the idea of a holistic approach to health and wellness. The challenge also sounded like it would be really effective because they give you lots of support and stay on top of your ass texting and calling you and making you take pictures of your grocery basket to see if you're sticking to the plan. Seriously, in the realm of customer service, the team at Modoma Dallas is the best. I have never been in such a welcoming environment when it comes to medical massage. I wish I could remember everyone's name as well as they remember mine but every person I have encountered there, from the front desk to the therapists have been nothing but a joy to work with. Even the people that are not working with me are noticeably kind. Shelby explains all of the associated costs so thoroughly, Dakota and the front desk make scheduling a breeze and are such a pleasure to talk to. The massage therapists I work with remember things that I tell them, like when I moved and when I had events to host and ask about them when I come back in. All of the staff there make it feel like I am walking into a building full of friends and not just a service I pay for. I could truly rant and rave about how great Modoma Dallas is forever but I'll go ahead and schedule my next visit instead. read more

I DO NOT recommend Modoma to anyone. I was a patient there and the massages were great, who wouldn't love a good massage. That is not the problem, nor my issue with this clinic. My issue is the clinic and it's practices. They are a bunch of con artists. They trick you into a treatment contract that they tell you the insurance is covering the treatment and the portion that you're paying is just your copay payments broken up at a discount (first flag), which is not too hard to believe considering we are talking about insurance and massage treatments. Nonetheless, one day, I was told that I was out of massage cream, which I kind of understand considering how often I was scheduled to be there, but it was still questionable. Then I mentioned to the therapist that I have some at home, (which was the "FREE" (not free) set they gave me a week after I started. But Preston, he is the PA at the Dallas location advised me that he was going to order me some additional cream anyway, which I did not see the necessity, but he did it anyway. I received a call from the pharmacy and they needed additional money from me because insurance would not cover the total cost (in the amount of $31.00), which I questioned as well, but once again, we are talking about insurance. I spoke with Preston at my next visit and let him know that I received a call from the pharmacy and that the order was on the way, and that I would bring it in as soon as I received it and he said that it should be delivered to them and not me and asked that I call the pharmacy to see if they could change the address and have it sent to the clinic, which I did. But for some reason, the order was inadvertently sent to me (the clinic expected it to come to them) but it came to me, and once I opened the "BOX" of medicine, it was clear to me that this was way too much medicine for one person. The clinic clearly ordered this medicine for themselves on my dime. The cost of the medicine was over $12K and according to the representatives of Modoma, this cream is a 30 day cream and will need to be ordered every 30 days (No way this could possibly be true or necessary) so I called the pharmacy first, and they expressed the same concern, but explained to me they filled the order as prescribed and that it is exactly as the doctor prescribed. Then I went back to Modoma (Dallas) and spoke with Preston and he denied ever ordering the medicine (said he "was a PA and PA's don't prescribe medicine"), which was a lie because he and I spoke about it and I explained that the clinic verified my address and that they were sending the medicine to me and he asked that I "change the shipping address with the pharmacy", which I tried, but they sent it to me anyway. I visited the clinic and spoke with Preston (of course he is completely clueless at this point) and asked me if I wanted to "see the Manager of the Clinic" her name is Carly Melchor (her email lists her as the "billing specialist" and not the manager, (who knows) and she explained that the "pharmacy had to be the ones that made the mistake", they (Modoma) "would not order that amount of medicine for one patient". Upon my request, she gives me a copy of the order that they placed for me and I tell her that I will call the pharmacy again when leave, of course she offered to take the medicine from me and she would send it back to the pharmacy for me (I don't think so). I leave, and I contact the pharmacy again and they confirmed that the copy of the order I have in my hand, and the order that was placed by the clinic were the same, and that the $12K was correct and was paid by my insurance company (all but $31.00 I paid). They also stated that the medicine should never go to the clinic but to the patient only. Although this is not the first time this has happened to a patient from that clinic before. I ask that all my future appointments if any, be cancelled with the clinic and advised the receptionist that I will not be returning and to cancel any future charges and she said she would notate my account. I have reported these actions to my insurance fraud department for a more thorough investigation, and I would advise you question their practices and don't allow them to charge your credit card or your insurance for any unnecessary charges, including the trigger point injections, tens unit, back and/or shoulder braces they provide you with and never show you how to use or size you correctly, those are not free either, and your insurance company will be charged for those as well. We have to be advocates for the insurance company, because there are medical providers and/or professional out here scamming them every day. This is why our insurance premiums are so high, and I have excellent insurance coverage, but I don't want them to be taken advantage of just because of that. If I didn't have great coverage, none of this would happen because they would not be able to get paid. Please question everything. read more
