We are early diners and the only couple near us were also Americans on holiday. Our server spoke excellent English and guided us through the menu choices. After an appetizer of tomatoes and cucumbers in a light dressing, I ordered the sirloin in cream and my wife the trout filet. The food, like the service, was superb. Our server surprised us with a complimentary "shot" of a very strong Czeck liqueur at the end of the meal. we had a grand time and hope you will too!!

Nonetheless, I entered and hope for an escape from the unforgiving sun on that day. The staff seated me at one of the booths and after I requested some information explaining the menu and what's popular, they were more than happy to assist. They even explained some local etiquette and so on which was perfect for a visitor like myself. I decided to try out their Pickled Cheese as an appetizer. The cheese, paired with the onion salad and bagel was great. I really didn't know if I was eating it correctly but still delicious. For the main course, my waiter recommended a Schnitzel with potato salad. Just to get it out of the way, but the potato salad was almost better than anything I've had in the United States. I thought we were doing it right until I spent one day in Prague. The Schnitzel was also delicious. Perfect with the salad, the provided a blend of flavor and substance I desperately needed. All in all, this place was a great experience in Prague. The staff could not have been anymore nicer as I left with an itinerary on what to do during my time in Prague. The food and service were great. Don't be fooled by the location and stop by if you're in Old Square.

I started with the grilled octopus- this could be he best octopus I've ever had. It was so tender! My friend had the parsnip soup and raved about it. It looked good. She had the homemade ravioli with pumpkin filling- I tried a bite and it was ok, in my opinion (I'm not a huge pasta person). She liked it. I ordered the sirloin (receipt said ribeye and it definitely looked more like a ribeye). I had the lentil and root vegetable ragout with it. The steak was very fatty. Cooked rare, as I asked but not a sirloin, as represented. The root vegetables were tiny and mixed in with the lentils. It was pretty much carrots- not what I expected. In general, a good experience and meal and I would suggest it if you're looking for a nice meal in Prague with gluten free options.

We were pleasantly surprised at how great this place was. From the service, to the ambiance and excellent music choices of Lana Del Rey playing in the background, to the delicious meal we enjoyed everything was top notch! We ordered a bottle of the Sancerre which was delicious. I highly recommend this light and refreshing French wine. Then we enjoyed the three item starter where you can pick three menu items off the starter list. We chose the smoked salmon, roast beef, and vegetable stuffed with cheese. All three were excellent and this was accompanied by a selection of different breads. For our mains, we ordered the puff pastry stuffed with courgette, carrot and goat cheese, tomato purée and chickpea gnocchi and the ravioli stuffed with ricotta, wild nettles, and sundried tomatoes with lemon confit sauce. Each bite was better than the last! Pretty great vegetarian options here, making you forget that they're even vegetarian. These dishes were so unique and flavorful. We also were able to catch an excellent showing of fireworks that went off over the water in front of the restaurant! They let us leave our table for a brief moment to walk outside to view the fireworks. Dinner and a show, oh my! This was the perfect way to end our classy evening at the Opera. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to Prague. My only complaint is that we didn't get the opportunity to enjoy what looked like a delicious dessert menu. The kitchen was closed by the time we were ready to order. I guess I will have to return on my next trip to Prague to give it my fullest effort!

The sauce seemed to have been made from a can (1 star off) as the diced tomatoes tasted different than the whole tomatoes that were added to the dish later; the whole tomatoes tasted way better. I made a reservation a month in advance, but did not know I had to specifically request for tables outside on the river. When we arrived, only a few outdoor tables were taken, but was told the rest were reserved, so we were seated indoors instead. When we finished our dinner, the same few outdoor tables were occupied. I don't know why the restaurant couldn't just stagger the guests for the outdoor tables according to their reservation times.

It was my second visit to Prague so I was taking my time to see more than the "must see things." As I said, I stumbled onto the restaurant because I was taking in the park where artists were painting, people were reading and I pulled out my phone to use the Merlin app to identify birds that were singing. It was totally picturesque. But I wasn't hungry. So I regretfully moved on without eating there. Imagine the elation a few days later when someone in our group booked a dinner reservation for us at the same place I was regretting having missed! With a group of a dozen of us, I think someone ordered everything on the menu. We were all thrilled. We had appetizers , cocktails and entrees -- everything we had was great! The restaurant is family-owned and we were treated to the son being a primary server for our group. Now and then dad was part of the picture too and we enjoyed the added dynamic. Pretty sure the son is on point for Americans as his English was on point. They were great hosts!

Rather than look at the menu, I made my decision by viewing the desserts. For an unknown reason, rather than being placed upfront, the tiramisu was placed behind a box of pralines. I was amused, and slightly caught off guard, with the vending machine in the men's restroom dispensing cologne. None of the other restaurants I visited in the city had one.

Pho is Europe doesn't seem to come with tripe, tendons, and/or meatballs. I think the beef was medium rare when it came out of the kitchen as it was closer to medium well and well done by the time it was on my table.
