OMG BEST FOOD IN BARCELONA!!!!…read more I came here for my last meal while visiting Barcelona and I was so happy we did. We were a little tired of eating tapas so we decided to have a nice steak dinner. Even though there were only 2 reviews on Yelp for this place, Trip Advisor had a ton so we made a reservation online of the restaurants website. The food was absolutely amazing! I started off with a glass of the house wine and my fiancé had a tap beer. The wine came in a huge glass and the pour was so generous! Definitely would be considered two glasses of wine in NYC! They also gave us complimentary olives. Yum! For our dinner we shared the steak and 2 different kind of potatoes which were both delicious. My favorite part about the steak was the chimichurri seasoning on the steak. It was the best thing I have ever tasted. I even had to ask the owner/chef what it was! We also shared the grilled vegetables and they were out of this world as well. We finished everything but the portion size was great. I was so happy we found this little gem in Barcelona and if I go back to Barcelona I would 100% go back to eat there!

The spot was cozy and not too loud, which was nice. Just had 2 starters - the salad and octopus,…read morebut both were sadly over salted. The salad was fresh with a nice combination of nuts and goodies (which more justifies the price). The octopus was quite dense and not very tender, although the flavor was good. It took forever to cut! Wish I could've tried the steak - it looked amazing. For what I had, seemed a bit pricey.

We got there right when it was opening and our waitress spoke real good English and I ordered a beer and the black ink paella. There were a lot of good looking dishes available though! If we were here longer, I would have tried their regular paella as well, I liked it because you could order a single serving, which seemed a little rare in Barcelona. The dish came out about fifteen minutes later, which is good for paella, because you know they made it fresh. I heard some places just nuke it and bring it out. It comes out in the cool looking pan that looks like a gold mining pan. It is colored deep black and has a huge prawn in the middle and lots of clams and mussels and calamari. The rice was cooked perfectly and the black squid ink sauce was delectable. Great service and my second beer was a great pairing for a lunch that fills you up perfectly. Highly recommended place, that could have been touristy, by was a delightful surprise!

The food here was up to par- it was incredibly fresh and delicious. The women who run this place truly care and take pride in the restaurant. They have wonderful charm and personality. If I lived here, I would come here often to eat and support this establishment. The sacs are so good (my favorite was the mushroom) and the the bacon was excellent. The Cava from the owners village is great too. All of it was excellent!

The owner gave some advice but then said in Spanish that we could wait. Wait for what? Well, turns out he reopened earlier for us. We asked why the owner opened a gluten free restaurant. Perhaps he was gluten free? It turns out that he has 2 daughters whom are gluten free! Also, he is from Italy where gluten free is very much more known and he wants to raise awareness in Spain. After 20 mins we got our food. I had the (gluten) pasta and it was tasty, but not amazing. It is the gluten free food which stands out though and with that said, I think Il Piccolo is quite unique, cute and interesting little Italian restaurant.

What's that? ME, giving a pizza joint five stars? Yeah. But this isn't any ordinary pizza joint,…read moreand they fully deserve those five stars. Allow me to explain... Il Piccolo Focone has got range as well as depth in their pizza menu. That is to say, they cater to virtually every sort of taste, and do so with gluten free options on every pie. Their pizza menu alone spans 2 1/2 pages. While that made it hard to decide, I finally opted for the "Andreu," with tomato sauce, mozzarella, Serrano ham and mushrooms. The crust was pure Italian: thin, crispy and flavorful. The toppings were also Italian, in that they didn't smother the pie like they so often do in the States. The flavors stood out, yet blended very nicely. My wife opted for the Buon Gustaio salad. Crisp greens, Serrano ham, an unbelievable goat cheese and walnuts, and some dried fruit, all drizzled with an outstanding balsamic reduction. This salad wasn't just thrown together - it was finely crafted. (Yes, I *did* eat half of her salad, but that's only fair, as she ate half of my pizza!) Afterward, we shared a tiramisu. Now I'm older than most of your parents, and I've had my share of tiramisu. This one was undoubtedly among the top five I've ever had. In. My. Life! Their menu extends well beyond pizzas, and they even offer a pretty decent "Menu al Dia" for around € 11,00. (The folks at the next table were having that, and seemed to be enjoying it pretty well.) Our waiter was the consummate professional. The location is very near the Sagrada Familia, so keep it in mind if you're doing the tourist thing... or even if you live here. We're already looking forward to a return trip!
