Good place to find vegan options in Gracia. It isn't the best place I've eaten Vietnamese cuisine at but it is the best in the general area.

It was a rainy day, the line outside of Picasso museum was surprisingly long, so we gave up and found this place to get some thing warm. I picked beef pho. The pho came with big bowl, but the beef with soup plus bean sprouts and noodle together just covered about half of it, and bean sprouts were soggy since it was not served in separate dish as they do in other places. I was really disappointed with this place, also the price is not cheap, pho cast 9 euro, my wife shared a salad with her friend, it was 25 euro. read more

The food is a very bland and the main dishes are quite small portioned. The "yummy rolls" consists of mainly three rolls cut up to look like sushi and contain mostly carrots and noodles. The Tasting sounded good but it really consists of a small main dish, three different rolls, a small bowl of edamame and a small bowl of mixed slice carrots mango daikon salad. I'd say vegetarians might be ok but there was certainly very little meat in all the dishes. Lastly the server seemed quite uninterested in serving us. Despite is asking to order, he brought food to other patroons and cleaned tables before walking over to take our order. Half way through our meal we realized that an order of yummy rolls hadn't been brought out. The waiter was not apologetic for forgetting to put in the order and seemed more bothered by having to do it. I saw him shake his head as he walked away from us. Only thing nice was the ambiance. This rating is for the phô I had a few days ago. It was simple and fresh with beef and noodles and all the basic ingredients that usually come along with phô, they have a nice selection of sauces to go along with it as well. GREAT PLACE! Casual little restaurant for very good Vietnamese food! (eat in or take out). We found this cosy spot very near to the Picasso museum in Barcelona. We stopped for a quick bite and we were surprised how good everything was. Homemade passion fruit lemonade was so refreshing, and the summer rolls and raw mango salad were delightful. Let me start by saying that I am a big Vietnamese food critic just because I cook so much of it that I am very judgmental when I eat at restaurants. One of my best dishes that I make is the traditional Pho soup. Being so far from home while visiting Barcelona for 10 days, I was craving Vietnamese food so we found this place that was recommended in the Barcelona metropolitan magazine as well as on yelp. I have to say, it was more impressive than I expected. It is a small self service restaurant. As you walk into the restaurant you pick up a card and mark what you want on it and hand it to the staff behind the bar. We didn't know this as we just headed straight to the bar to order and the staff was very helpful and showed us how to order properly. My husband and I each had a vietnamese iced coffee and each had a bowl of Pho. Vietnamese Iced Coffee- I have to say that I was not expecting them to bring out a traditional coffee filter with condensed milk in a cup as the coffee drips down in front of you as I did see packages of instant vietnamese coffee. Pretty legit, that's the way coffee is supposed to be made. However, they did not tighten the coffee filter enough so there was a lot of coffee beans that ended up in the coffee. They also added the ice before the coffee dripped down causing the ice to melt before it was done. Typically, you would add the ice AFTER but oh well, it was ok. Pho- The soup broth was pretty good. It was not AMAZING but decent. They definitely simmered the beef bones for a very long time because I could taste the broth had a nice sweet, flavorful smell. They didn't have basil in the Pho and used ALOT of chopped onions, cilantro, bean sprouts and scallions. They also didn't have the hoisin sauce or sriracha and only a sweetened fish sauce (Nuoc Mam) that was just a tad bit watered down for my taste. The beef was a bit chewy, but if they used a better cut it would have made a difference. After about 5 bites I can taste the MSG they use on the tip of my tongue because I do not use any MSG in my cooking so I know when and how much MSG is used in the asian dishes. pretty decent amount but is expected for a restaurant. Overall pretty ok experience. They also have free wifi for the customers, you do have to ask and they will give you the code. 2 coffees, 2 bowls of Pho came out to be about 20 Euros. read more

We had bun noodles with spring rolls and curry chicken. it was not the most aunthentic asian food but loved the fusion feel of it. From Houston, TX, I visited this place with an open mind since there aren't a whole lot of viet restaurant in Barcelona. They only offer a few Pho types of bowl. It filled my appetite but there's a lot of ingredient missing such as: -proper beef broth -proper beef (bo tai) cut -veggies They don't use sriracha or lee kum kee brands nor they have chili oil (sate). Overall, if you serious about getting good Pho, skip this place. I don't think it's ran by a Vietnamese person, bc they can't spell "ph" right! GO GET SOME RAMEN-YA HIRO! read more

Pretty decent Vietnamese food. If you're visiting Barcelona and need a quick little Viet food fix, this place will do. It probably helped that my expectations were not that high. The pho and bun are not very traditional but close enough. The pho broth hit the spot. The bun was a little bland even with the fish sauce, but it satisfied the clean food craving I had. Do not get the spring rolls here, the ingredients did not seem very fresh and it was all a little dry even after dipping. Side note: my phone got jacked here, the threat is REAL. I left it on the table next to two others in my party and went up to order food. This guy emerged from the back and ran out the restaurant and got a nice little bonus grab of my phone off the table. We desperately needed a pho fix and braced ourselves for below standard pho but at least edible. Coming from Australia where we have pretty much one of the best phos in the world, our expectations were low. But to our surprise it was even lower than low. Not wanting to be an ass but it was basically water with loads of sprouts and some noodles and beef. It tasted nothing like pho, and well, didn't really taste like anything to be honest. We found it rather amusing for finding potentially the worst pho in the world having tried it at various other places including London and Paris. Perhaps we chose the wrong dish. We weren't impressed with the quality of food versus price. I had pho and the broth soup was no where near what i expected. On the positive side, place is nicely decorated and has a cute ambiance. Might be a good stop for a quick snack but i don't recommend it for dinner. read more

I am going to start a social movement to make Yelp add the "and a half" stars. I am considering also demonstrations all over the world. This place deserves a 3 and a half stars. I saw this place in my friends feed the day before yesterday, and I bookmarked it immediately. The next day we were on our way to LaViernamita in Gracia (they also have another one in el Born). The place is a kind of self service where you order on a paper sheet and give it to cashier, pay and wait to be served. We order the vietnamese rolls. They were pretty fresh, but I couldn't taste the shrimp at all, because the mint flavour was all over the place. My wife got the rolls with beef and they were just good. Second we got the small portion of the noodle supreme salad and I have to say that a little bit of Sriracha made it perfect, I really like the flavour and the combination of different veggies with chicken. It was the perfect dish for a hot spring day. I still find that compared to LA, the Asian restaurants like this one or the thais charge you too much for the quantity they serve. In LA, for ten bucks you can eat at the restaurant and have leftovers, a pretty decent deal. Here you will only have one what you eat in. read more

My friends are from Sweden and they were craving Vietnamese food since Sweden has maybe 2 good Vietnamese restaurants in the whole country. I think if you're from Spain, the food here may be good and that's their style. The pho broth was not good at all. The pho was not good but it was tolerable to eat. The other bun noodle was ok too. The food barely seemed vietnamese. The place is extremely cramped and it's community tables. It's also a order yourself style by marking on a menu what you want and dropping it off at the front counter. Great Vietnamese food (light and sour), nice people, and usually full of lively banter....a winner. Got dinner with a friend when it was pretty busy -- we sat at a desirable 4-seat table for quite a while after we finished eating, and instead of glaring impatiently or hovering over us, the server offered us free beers to move to the bar. Horrible, one of the worst restaurants i have been to in years. The website promised fresh delicious vegetarian options, but although you can have a piece of uncooked cold Tofu in your burger, the bread is still made with pork fat. Same for the soup.. the broth is made of beef. And they is no option of veg or fish broth. The mango carrot salad consisted of mainly roasted onions from the supermarket. The sauces where the typical sauces you can find in any Asian shop full of additives, preservatives and artificial colors. And i really dont understand why you would put smoked supermarket salmon into sushi. If you wanne be that kind of restaurant..fine! But dont pretend to be all healthy and fresh. TOTAL RIP OFF!! The one star i gave is dedicated to the nice waiters, i feel sorry you have to work in a shitty place like this. read more
