Brisket Mac & Cheese 10/10 recommend!
    Kayse C.

Food was delicious!! I had the brisket Mac and cheese and it was by far the best I've had in a long time! My boyfriend got the pork ribs and he said they were great! The man behind the counter was very kind and even got us a water bowl and told us where we could sit outside with our dog! If you're driving through, be sure to stop by MO's BBQ!

    Moe the owner.

It's been awhile since I've written a review but today I was truly blown away the amazing food and service given today by Moe.Moe the owner is the sole proprioter and cook of this establishment. The loaded brisket potato was off the charts with melt in your mouth brisket.I couldnt finish the order so i had to take to go.New gem discovered a must try place for a Bbq.Note dont mention you plan on sharing the massive potato because you will get a kid size potato.I plan on returning for the ribs, potato salad, and special charro beans prepared with bell peppers, onions, and brisket.

Ribs plus 2 meats (sausage and brisket) with coleslaw, beans, Mac and cheese, and dirty rice. Definitely took a lot home.

Hands down best BBQ! I've been to Austin, Cypress, and all over Houston, not one could even come close to this mans food. This guy has a love and passion for his craft and it definitely shows! Must try

Stopped on our road trip to have a bite. Big Mo served us and it was the best chopped beef sandwich I've ever had. So tender and juicy I didn't even add the BBQ sauce. Huge portions and great prices. Moe gets up and starts the meat between midnight and 3 am and they are only open from 11am - 6 pm (or until he runs out of meat!) Very much a hole In the wall, not fancy, but chatting with Moe while eating his delicious food is part of the ambience. I highly recommend you stop in and try it.

The Smoked Chicken was huge & deliciously moist!!!! Great sides as well!

From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, with a nicely decorated dining area and plenty of seating. The staff was incredibly friendly, which made the experience even better. But of course, the real star was the food. Let's start with the brisket. I tried both the lean and the moist cuts, and they were both cooked to absolute perfection. The bark was fantastic--a deep, flavorful crust that gave way to incredibly tender meat. We were also offered a sample of the burnt ends, and they were delicious, a rich and savory bite that left me wanting more. The Hatch Chili Oaxaca sausage was another highlight. It had a smooth, mild flavor that let the sausage itself shine. The cheese had a nice texture and a subtle hint of chili that wasn't overpowering. The ribs were also outstanding. They had a great bite, just the right amount of pull from the bone, and a wonderful flavor. The classic salt and pepper rub was perfectly balanced, enhancing the meat without dominating it. For the sides, I was impressed with the potato salad. It was wonderfully creamy, loaded with big pieces of potato and bacon, and had just the right amount of onion for a nice tang. The mac and cheese was also great, with a very creamy sauce that had a fantastic flavor. While the noodles were a little on the softer side, it didn't take away from how delicious the dish was overall. Overall, this is a top-tier barbecue joint that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a truly great BBQ experience.

We have noticed this place several times on our travels back and forth between our home NW of…read moreAustin and our grandchildren in Houston. I always try to be supportive of small, locally owned businesses everywhere I go. Look at some of my other reviews, it will bear this out. For once, it wasn't a Sunday when we were passing by and we weren't in a hurry, so we thought we'd stop for lunch. It looks like everything you'd expect for a barbecue restaurant. Everything rustic and country. There was a menu painted on the wall with no prices anywhere. They have a nice selection of sides in meats. My wife ordered the 2 Meat Plate with Brisket and Sausage, Potato Salad and Pinto beans. I was thinking about Pork Butt; however, when I saw it , I decided to pass. Strike 1! I ordered the Brisket Plate with Black -Eyed Peas and Coleslaw. When the young woman handed it to me, It had Pintos on it rather than Black-Eyed Peas. When I cited the error she indignantly snapped, "That's what you ordered!" Strike 2! (who argues with civil paying customers?) I said, " I'm not trying to be any trouble. I just want what I ordered." at which point the older woman told her to give me a side of Black-Eyed Peas, which at this point seemed completely academic. We found a table, found our way to the drinks and also to the Barbecue Sauce and various condiments. I really wish I could say that this was the best Barbecue that I ever put in my mouth but unfortunately, I have to say just the opposite. Strike 3! This is singularly the worst barbecue experience that I have ever had anywhere in Texas or elsewhere in the country. The Brisket was gray, dry, and there wasn't a smoke ring in sight. It was no better than the Pork Butt had looked to me, in fact it was probably worse. My wife loves Sausage and she is not as discriminating about it as I am, but she said that was the worst Sausage she ever bought from a Barbecue Restaurant in her life, and she's the lifelong Texan in this couple, not me. I see mixed reviews out there besides my own and I'm wondering if perhaps the problem here is just inconsistency with the food because other than that and the little service blip, this wasn't a horrible meal but it was pretty far from a good one. Sorry Nathan's, I so wanted to like you.

THAT should have been my first clue...LOL!! Just ate the (small) links: jalapeno/cheese and hot... They were ok, each had a mild kick. Would have liked more flavor to each The huge link from Westphalia meat market in Loft TX that I got grossed me out...it looked gray, had a lot of cheese and was just mushy looking. It tasted like mushy cheese and not beef or pork. The texture was just mush. (the packaging had no info on it either and the counter person didn't know) I threw $15 worth of whatever this was in the trash. I just could NOT get over HOW it looked, the texture or lack of flavor. (wish I would of taken a photo of it cooked...too traumatized! LOL! HEY OWNERS.... DONT buy that anymore!
