We had a very disappointing experience at this seafood restaurant in Somerville. The crawfish we were served were clearly not fresh. they smelled terrible, tasted rotten, and were completely inedible. When we brought it to the staff's attention, we expected the issue to be handled appropriately, but instead we were only refunded half of what we paid for food that should never have been served in the first place. Serving spoiled seafood is a serious issue and can make people sick. and the lack of full accountability made the experience even worse. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. If you are looking for good crawfish do not go here. My daughters food was good and so was my father in laws Though. read more

Went there a couple of weeks after openning got crown and sprite they were huge glasses but no alcohol had to get shots to put in them the waitress said it did'nt look right, then got the ribeye and shrimp which were both raw. I only ate few bites of each and again waitress acknowledged that it was raw, but did nothing about it said the owner was the Cook . It's the bomb, mahi with crabmeat and lemon butter was out of this world. Ordered it medium and it came that way, overcooked fish tastes fishy. The lemon butter was put on heavy and it ran into the rice and steamed vegetables just added that extra pop that made me eat too much. Salad was right portion and fresh with extra dressing (and crackers) this is Texas we eat crackers not croutons. I've been to restaurants that I've had more salad on a hamburger than they brought out lol. The place was very clean. Waitress was very professional. My tea glass never went empty and I typically drink 4-5 glasses if they are smaller than a mason jar. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Mom got fried oysters and the mahi. I got to take her mahi home for supper. 6 oysters filled her up with the salad. I'll drive past all the chain restaurants to get here. Went to the new restaurant a couple days after opening. Sweet tea is not sweet, she said that's how they make it. Coleslaw was served warm, fish is not catfish, guessing some foreign cheap fish, it was mushy and my wife did not eat it. Shrimp cocktail was good. read more

This is a good choice. I've never had a bad meal here, and the prices are reasonable. I can't attest to everything, as I tend to get one of three things: the fried shrimp po boy, the fried shrimp basket, or the shrimp and catfish combo. There are good lunch specials Mon-Fri, but regular prices aren't much higher. Service might get rough if a crowd showed up. There was only one young lady working the front today, and she was taking orders, serving the food, and running the register. She was friendly and checked on us more than once. The ambiance--well, what ambiance--is typical small town bland and serviceable, but here it's about food, not decor. The service was excellent. The food not great. We ordered an appetizer of fried zucchini it was good but a little greasy. For dinner I ordered the grilled red fish and shrimp with dirty rice and vegetables. It also came with a salad. The salad was almost frozen so when it defrosted it was limp and not good. Fish was over cooked (dry) and a little bland. The shrimp were good. The dirty rice was awful and vegetables were good. My husband ordered fried catfish and shrimp with slaw and French fries. It was ok. Drinks margaritas first ordered a house it was ok but tasted like the cheaper mix. Then ordered top shelf it was the same. Also the waitress couldn't find another glass so she came to the table and said " I need to use this glass since I can't find any more glasses". That was ok but I watched her and she didn't even rinse the glass out. She used the exact same mix and tequila it was not a top shelf but charged us for top shelf. All in all not horrible but not great. Would I go back ? No. This place has potential but it's not there yet. read more

This is a one star rating for the ribeye steak I ordered (medium asking to make sure it had some pink) on Friday, July 29, 2022. The steak (?) was very thin, overcooked and had too much fat/muscle. I was very disappointed as I had a nice fried shrimp dinner there on Tuesday night. The reason for just one star is I complained about the quality of the steak and it was flatly dismissed. It's tough to get good grub on a quick turnaround dropping the kid off at camp - especially on a Sunday, but Texas Seafood and Steakhouse hit the spot. Delicious, ice cold sweet tea. No-fuss oysters off the shell and grilled to perfection. Jumbo shrimp seasoned just right. A buttery medley of summer squash and tender broccoli. Belly-filling Cajun rice with just a touch of heat. Clean as a whistle, AC humming, and friendly service with pleasant smiles. I thought i was gonna have to eat chain fast food, but TSS saves the day. I am a regular customer that drives from Houston with my Family to eat here. The waitress are all sweet and give great service but my issue is with having the cook/ owner understand that giving me the option to have Jumbo shrimp while still giving me large shrimp and I am still paying the jumbo shrimp price is an issue. I have had to send my food back and have it corrected twice in my previous visits where yes he gave me jumbo shrimp, but why should I even have to do that? Tonight he gave me jumbo shrimp with large shrimp mixed , when again I ordered " jumbo" grilled shrimp, I didn't even worry about speaking to them about it this time. Hint to the wise just order large grilled shrimp so you don't have to pay the up charge for what your not going to get anyway‍. I am a Louisiana Native and we know seafood , I just rather be told "there's no jumbo grilled shrimp " than them to not be transparent and allow me to pay an overage for what I'm not receiving. Mind you I tip the waitress nothing less than $20 when we come and never spend less than $110 each visit. If you still want jumbo shrimp after reading this just order them fried, I don't know why they can give you the jumbo shrimp fried but never grilled , not sure if the fried shrimp are out the box or what this is just what we have experienced as regulars. read more

On a little getaway. Saw this place on Yelp. It is just a little tiny place you would be inclined to pass up. Don't!!!! I had grilled catfish and shrimp- delicious. Veggies were yummy, I didn't care for the rice. The hubs had fried catfish and shrimp- all super good! The fish is fried in cornmeal- awesome. The French fries were crispy and great. If I could give less stars I would. The owner said we were ridiculous because we didn't think the prices fit the food. For instance, my salad was floating in oil and the tomato was moldy, out of the 6 bacon shrimp, 3 were not cleaned and tasted rancid. I was on a weekend trip to Somerville and my family needed dinner. This was the closet place with solid reviews so we gave it a try. We had the fried catfish, fried snapper, hush puppies, catfish nuggets, fries and onion rings. The onion rings weren't anything special but everything else was solid. The fish was fried nicely. It was flavorful but not greasy. The hush puppies were my favorite item. They had a little kick to them but not too much, just the right amount. It was also very affordable. Unbelievable I will never eat there again I ordered the red snapper it was horrible I tried to choke it down and couldn't do it. I never complain about food and I have never asked to have something removed from the bill,I asked the waitress to take it off the bill and she refused. To top it all off we ordered fried cheese sticks and under the paper was mouse poop yep mouse poop I showed the waitress and they didn't even apologize for the nasty basket they brought us. The stuffed shrimp wasn't cooked. It took forever to get are food. The health inspector will be called Monday morning What a terrible place to eat. Seemed Ok until food came out husband ordered sirloin and it wasn't sirloin but not sure what it was?? He chewed and chewed without success told waitress and asked for the boiled shrimp dinner and got some kind of sweet soupy boiled shrimp that wasn't good either. This place is a gem!!! I heard that they have oysters on a half shell and I had to go! I had an order of 12 and they were absolutely delicious. My kids shared the 12 fried shrimp and French fries. The ship were humongous! I had the salmon with crawfish étouffée, dirty rice and vegetables. It was cooked perfectly and if I had to guess I would say my salmon was close to a 10 oz portion. Next time I will share this with someone! My husband had the stuffed shrimp and they were amazing! It's so nice to have an AWESOME place to eat in Burleson County since we are lacking good food here. We were looking for dinner but didn't know what we wanted to eat and found this place as we were entering Somerville from the Brenham side. It was cozy and tidy and friendly. Its right off the highway and an easy in / easy out for parking. Specials are on a board just inside the door. Everything came out more quickly than I would have expected and was piping hot fresh. Whatever spices they used to make their batter make for a tasty and somewhat different breading. We enjoyed chicken fried steak and baked stuffed shrimp. The sweet tea was perfect - usually I find it too sweet for my taste but this was excellent. Dinner for two with appetizers but no booze was 36 bucks. I consider that a fair price for an excellent meal. read more
