Moe's is a small chain. I don't like chains, but I really like Moe's. It doesn't feel taste or look like a chain and the food is really, really good. Did I say it was really good? Prices and great, portions are large, service it good. If you sit at the full service bar they will take your order, if you pick a table (inside or out) you order and pay at the counter. They have probably the best Bushwhackers in town with a nice 151 topper. The ribs are tender , the chicken is moist and has great flavor and the collard greens are perfect. Good BBQ and good prices. Update-- we actually did eat here again the day I did the review. Still delicious! And might go back today for wings because they were so good the first time but they forgot to add the buffalo sauce. Ha! We still would like to have them with boogaloo sauce. The "marinaded slaw" was good - lightly sweet & mild vinegar - but very dry. I would request they stir it before serving so it has some moisture next time. The sample I tasted before ordering had a touch of moisture so I know that's all that it needed was a good stirring. I've never had Slaw that way but I really enjoyed it. i can't believe I didn't review this last week. I thought I had. The pulled BBQ pork is delicious. You get twice the meat in the platter over the sandwich selection. The collard greens were good but heavy / dense. There's only one style sauce, but it was good. Not too sweet, not too vinegary. The folks behind the bar are great. Location is awesome. They're right by the farmers market and Wolf Bay of Co Rd 20...the Co stands for County...not Country. My adopted daughter called it country road one day by mistake...I don't let her live it down. It's a great place to visit and eat. But let me tell you...GO EARLY on Saturdays for their specialty.... It's fast becoming a tradition for some folks to gather on Saturdays for the Grilled Smoked Burger. And you know how the pictures advertised NEVER EVER look like what you get??? So good we had to return!!! They actually smoke all their meat and do not just drown it sauce. The loaded baked potato had all the flavor I wanted. Sweet baked beans, pulled pork, cheese, white sauce with just a little kick to it! The ribs were tender, full of flavor. Fried shrimp were large and perfectly fried with that crunch on the outside. We have eaten at MOE'S Orginal in Orange Beach a couple of times this time though we went to the one in Foley Al. My husband ordered the pulled pork platter and for sides he ordered the slaw and chips. I ordered the smoked chicken with potato salad and the banana pudding. We received our food quickly and the waitress was polite and friendly. My husband said pulled pork was okay but dry. His favorite item was the cornbread that came with the meal, the slaw was kinda bland. Now my chicken was good it was moist and had a little kick and the white sauce was good. The potato salad was like I remembered it was really tasty. However I ordered the banana pudding and I believe I have had it before in Orange Beach so I really don't know what went wrong because this was not like any banana pudding I have ever eaten. It was runny almost like soup and didn't taste like banana pudding. I ate some of it because I wanted to be fair about my review. I was really disappointed with the banana pudding. Girls just had a side of Mac. Husband & I shared the 2 meat combo. We enjoyed it, but not enough to go back & try it again. The service, the food, and the atmosphere were all 5 stars. My daughters and I were traveling and wanted to get lunch. We stopped here specifically because 2 different hotel staff had recommended it. You immediately order when you walk in and then find a seat. The menu was simple and easy to navigate even though it was our first time. Everyone there seemed happy to be there, including staff. The food was amazing!!! As I write this, I am wishing that I had some right in front of me. We had the pulled pork, mac n cheese, house chips, cornbread and oreo pudding. All of it was fantastic. The portions are generous. The meat was seasoned perfectly and tender. The cornbread was moist with just the right sweetness. The chips were fresh. And the pudding was the best way to end a meal! I don't get it. It's average food at best. The ribs were thin and more on the dry side. Sauce was average. Not really tangy, just seemed like it came from a bottle bought at the store. The bottom of the catfish came out soggy because the batter isn't great. Baked beans seemed like they were from a can. Nothing special about them. I got "mashed potatoes casserole" and it was just mashed potatoes and gravy. At first I thought they were instant but eventually found some lumps so they are just bad real mashed potatoes. If they make their own sauce, sides, and bbq, I feel ashamed this place exists in the south. Service is good because you go to the counter and then they bring your food. Fill up your drinks, silverware in a large bucket. The thing that I laughed at is the tip screen. The default lowest amount was 22%. The ambiance is what you'd expect in a bbq joint. read more

Make sure when you order a salad you check the dressing. Two $15 salads and they literally gave me one 2oz cup of the dressing I ordered for each salad. To be fair they gave me 3 2oz dressing cups... one of each flavor. You need 3-4 2oz cups for the size of salad Moe's serve. What a twist of fate that Moe's founders met after a meeting at a college whose name I shall not mention. LOL However, kudos to them for hooking up with Moses Day in Tuscaloosa and learning how to smoke and fire roast meat. It was July 2018, and we were just arriving into Foley, AL for our Foley / Gulf Shores vacation. It was lunch time and we didn't know any of the local restaurants; therefore, we pulled over to the side of the road and opened up our mobile Yelp app. Moe's was literally screaming at us to try them. Although there were only 50 reviews so far (not too shabby), their 4-star rating made a "pre-believer" out of me. So we decided to give it a try. Moe's only offers counter service, which is fine by me. When you walk through the front door, you are literally at the counter and there are 2 large menu boards on the wall. As we were tourists, and may not be back for quite some time, we opted for the sample platter so that we could try several different menu items. For $29.00 you get the following: 1/4 lb. pulled pork - The pulled pork was perfectly smoked and had almost no fat. Smoked sausage - Nothing super extraordinary here. Just a good piece of sausage. Chicken (we chose the leg & thigh) - Perfectly smoked and very juicy. Just a little bit of sauce on top with a drizzle of another sauce for a little lagniappe. Smoked / sliced turkey - I truly enjoyed the smoked turkey breast. Although sliced thin, it was cooked to perfection and was exceptionally juicy. 3 ribs - If you like your ribs dry with a rub, these may not be for you. However, I am a believer now. They are served wet with Moe's BBQ sauce and are trimmed of most of the fat. There is a nice visible smoke ring to confirm that these are smoked low and slow. 4 chicken wings - The wings are served crispy with no sauce. Although not my favorite, fans of wings should appreciate them. 2 pieces of cornbread - Nothing destroys a piece of cornbread like overcooking it and drying it out. I am happy to say that Moe's cornbread is moist and a little bit sweet (which I love). It's a little dense and has some weight to it; but I loved it. 3 sides dishes: Here's where things get difficult, as you have to make a choice of what sides to get. House fried chips - These were the best home made potato chips I've had in a decade and rivaled my all-time favorite chips at the Richmond Bar & Grill in El Segundo, CA. Collard greens - Alas, the perfect collard greens. The greens really were perfect. They had a beautiful texture that immediately tells you that they were not overcooked. However, they were not tough at all. Seasoned excellently, they were not bitter at all and had the slightest hint of a sweet component in them. Tomato pie - Kudos to my server for recommending the tomato pie, as I think it is a special side item. Please don't let the ingredients scare you away, as the tomato pie contains mayonnaise and a crust made from Ritz crackers. How on Earth could this taste soooo good? Trust me when I say that's it's fabulous. I truly liked everything about Moe's. From the rustic looking exterior and interior, to the friendly service and full service bar with several craft beer offerings. Can't wait to go back. Oh yeah, I am definitely a fan. read more
