    Big T's Sampler and Frickles
    Patricia B.

As someone who is gluten free, going to an establishment and being able to eat almost everything on the menu is nearly unheard of. The fried pickles are gluten free (and no egg)!! We also got T's sampler to try all the meats and they were all superb. They also have a dedicated fryer, so I was able to eat fries. They were very knowledgeable about allergens and answered my questions. Will return again!

We ordered the pulled smoked chicken plate and it was delicious. Portion size was great and the sides were delicious also. Sat out on the patio with our puppy and had a nice meal while out with our little puppy.

The food was quite delicious. I had the Nasty G sandwich, and my wife had the pulled pork platter. Meat was tender and flavorful. They had a good selection of sides. We had baked beans, Mac & cheese, and sweet potato fries. All very tasty! The food came to the table super quick. The restaurant was clean and bright. I would recommend!

It wasn't busy at all so we got right in and had little wait for our food. It's been years since I've eaten here, so I had the smoked chicken salad with sweet potato fries and cucumber and tomato salad as sides. The place isn't big and when it's tourist season it's hard to get in and out of but for this time of year the smaller space is fine.

A local referred us to try this great little bbq joint on the Gulf Shores Parkway. It was AWESOME! Brisket was perfectly cooked and tender. I was amazed by the smoked turkey! Would totally get that again. By the way, if you like mac and cheese, you GOT to try theirs! Sonny and loaded with cheese! I would rate this place a 9.5/10 without a doubt!!

We came into town late from NY and went to the beach and All of a sudden it was a beautiful sunset. We were hungry and knew that we wanted to go to Hog Wild! They close at 8 PM and we walked in at 7:46 PM. No problem, they sat us down, we ordered right away, real southern hospitality and great service. The pulled pork was delicious, the ribs were meaty and tender, the baked beans were out of this world. The french fries were amazing with a wonderful dusting of seasoning and just right crunch. White sauce was delicious. Highly recommend. You will go hog wild!

Cute place, food was great! I had pulled pork sandwich, cucumber and tomato salad, sweet potato fries. Very yummy food They have outdoor and inside dining, Happy Hour was from 2pm to 5pm; get a $1 off beer, etc. Customer service was very helpful and friendly.

Service was great and everyone friendly. Nice and clean. Everything was amazing but the ribs were way over cooked and dry. Can't wait to get back and try the brisket!!

If you follow my reviews, you know I'm not a huge fan of southern BBQ, too much pork and not enough beef. Wife wanted BBQ while we were at the beach so we decided to give this place a try. It's an order at the counter place with some seating indoors with a small bar and a nice dog friendly patio. Service was friendly and efficient. We shared the brisket sandwich and kids rib meal. The portions were filling. The brisket had good flavor overall, although not sliced as lean as I prefer. Ribs were tender and well seasoned. Thought the meat lacked smoke overall. Fries were hot and seasoned. Took a chance on the mustard slaw and was pleasantly surprised. The Mac and cheese was cheesy and was not mushy at all. Several BBQ sauces to choose from. My favorite was the whiskey. We'll add this place to our list of options for when we're in Gulf Shores.

Been here a few times and service is always great. For me the Mac n cheese was decent, better than most. Restaurant is super clean and love the outside seating. Cold slaw was also great. Vinegar based!! Now we came for lunch and wasn't busy but the ribs were fall off the bone and tasty sadly was a little old ( been under the warmer way to long. Chicken was delicious but the brisket had an odd flavour to it. Pulled pork was also a little dry. This is only my opinion and the other times I've been here everything was on point. I'll give it another shot next time I'm in the area:

Enjoyed the bbq, it was way better than most in Dallas! We ordered the 2 meat combo sandwich and the sliced brisket plate. So happy they didn't give any fat on the brisket, because who wants that! The place also had many different bbq sauces to choose from. It was a nice spot not far from the beach! I would recommend checking it out if you're in the area craving bbq!

Great place, wait staff was very hospitable and food was incredible! Down to earth place where you don't need to spend $200+ to give your family a great dinner

This is a great place to eat! We had the pulled chicken plate with white sauce and the crispy chicken plate also with white sauce. Both were divine. The crispy chicken was a half a chicken smoked to juicy perfection with a crispy skin. If you have not had Alabama white sauce try it here. You will not be disappointed. We also had the beachin shrimp sandwich minus the bread and sides. It is fried shrimp in hot sauce topped with their amazing mustard coleslaw and then topped with white sauce. I have no idea how one would successfully eat this in sandwich form as it is messy, but my goodness it is so delicious. The frickles were a good thickness and crispiness. I was not as impressed with their green beans, tomatoes and cucumbers, and Mac n cheese. The parking lot is a little small. You order at the counter when you come in and grab your own table. This a casual place.

Best bbq I've had in a while. Best pulled pork I've ever had not fatty at all. 9.9 out of 10 would be a 10 if the Mac and cheese was better!

Food: I'm actually gonna rate each item because this is my Yelp account and I do what I want!…read moreColeslaw - 6/10: It was missing something, like some heat or like raisins (kidding, kidding...). It wasn't bad just not the best I've had. Brisket Sandwich - 8/10: Big PLUS for offering a "lean" version! Nice. The only thing I would say is that the sauce was a little soupy. I prefer a thick, tangy BBQ sauce... but that's just me. Overall a great cut of beef! Mac n Cheese balls - 10/10: I've had cheese balls before, but these were friggin' awesome. They put brisket in with them! The outer layer was perfectly crisp, delicious Mac n cheese inside... I probably should not have eaten all 4 but I couldn't stop! Dang those were good. Cheesy Cornbread - 10+/10: It goes KFC biscuits, Red Lobster biscuits and then blowing both of those out of the water are these bad boys! Let's just say I'm glad they only gave me two. If I would have known how awesome those were, I probably would have ONLY gotten a meal of only biscuits! The cornbread wasn't too sweet, the edges were crispy and chewy, cheese in the middle... dude... I was done after those. Epic. Service: Good service, no complaints. But I saw another post on here about the "you order at the front but then they bring food to you" feel. So you feel obligated to give a tip...? But they didn't take your order at your table. It's just one of those places that is in between a fast food and formal service. Regardless, they were still nice and professional. Shout out to Eric for suggesting the Mac n Cheese balls! What an epic name! Atmosphere: It's like a cabin-ish feel inside, kind of like other BBQ places. It would be really funny if there was a BBQ place that had like, I dunno, an Anime theme or something...? I mean, that's a bit off the wall, but I'm just Sayin (see what I did there?) that all BBQ joints have pretty much the same feel. Cozy enough and clean so that's a plus! Price: Middle of the road. Solid meal will run you 25$ plus tip. But obviously it gets pricy if you get different cuts or more meat. Still even those prices weren't horrible. Oh and also CRUSHED ICE!!! Overall: Just three words for this one. "I'll be back," A.Schwarenegger

Hominy, hush puppies, cornbread, grits, Alabama white sauce on any meat, especially smoked chicken, are all popular in Alabama. BBQ is practically a religion in the South! As former certified Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) certified judges, my husband and I completed the training and paid the fees to be certified. The "KCBS way" is different from a lot of people's preferences in that, for example, a BBQ rib should actually have some "pull" to it, meaning, when you bite into it, your mouth should leave a mark in the rib. This means "fall off the bones" ribs are not KDBS quality, despite how many love that rib consistency. The KCBS judges slots fill up so quickly and required us to travel at our own cost and we did not judge any KCBS events. Back to Southern food. Deep fried double Oreos are one of the many fried foods here in Huntsville, and Melt restaurant features them on their menu. Meat-and-Three restaurants feature a meat (usually fried pork chop, meatloaf, BBQ, fried catfish, country fried steak/chicken) and three sides (fried okra, creamed corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, baked potato, potato salad, cole slaw, French fries) and bread options such as cornbread, rolls, hush puppies. While Southern Cooking is absolutely delicious, I have to limit it because lets face it, it is high in calories and cholesterol. When I do indulge, it's shrimp and grits, pimento cheese, fried green tomatoes, and fried whole okra.
