As someone who is gluten free, going to an establishment and being able to eat almost everything on the menu is nearly unheard of. The fried pickles are gluten free (and no egg)!! We also got T's sampler to try all the meats and they were all superb. They also have a dedicated fryer, so I was able to eat fries. This place is worth the trip! We tried a bunch of things: the tantrum sandwich, the Nasty G sandwich, the pulled pork sandwich, and a plate. The meats were all expertly done and the smoke wasn't overwhelming. All the other sides were wonderful! The Mac And cheese is creamy and well seasoned, the baked potatoes were the perfect blend of sweet and savory, potato salad is a delicious mustardy side that's not too wet and not too dry, the sweet potato fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned and the regular fries were tasty as well. The only thing not worth ordering was the green beans, they were bland and a bit overboiled. It's a cute little place, seating is a premium though so it may be better to order it to go during the busy times. read more

This place will forever ruin any other BBQ place for me, it was the best I've ever had! My family and I had just flown into the area from CA, we had been awake for 30+ hours and were at each other throats. Found this place on a whim and left very full and loving again lol. Mac N Cheese was okay. Not the type of Mac N Cheese expected to be served with a dish of bbq. Not something momma would bring to the cookout. Baked Beans. No. Too tangy, not enough sweet. Not a fan. It wasn't busy at all so we got right in and had little wait for our food. It's been years since I've eaten here, so I had the smoked chicken salad with sweet potato fries and cucumber and tomato salad as sides. We came into town late from NY and went to the beach and All of a sudden it was a beautiful sunset. We were hungry and knew that we wanted to go to Hog Wild! They close at 8 PM and we walked in at 7:46 PM. No problem, they sat us down, we ordered right away, real southern hospitality and great service. The pulled pork was delicious, the ribs were meaty and tender, the baked beans were out of this world. The french fries were amazing with a wonderful dusting of seasoning and just right crunch. If you follow my reviews, you know I'm not a huge fan of southern BBQ, too much pork and not enough beef. Wife wanted BBQ while we were at the beach so we decided to give this place a try. It's an order at the counter place with some seating indoors with a small bar and a nice dog friendly patio. Service was friendly and efficient. We shared the brisket sandwich and kids rib meal. The portions were filling. The brisket had good flavor overall, although not sliced as lean as I prefer. Ribs were tender and well seasoned. Thought the meat lacked smoke overall. Fries were hot and seasoned. Took a chance on the mustard slaw and was pleasantly surprised. The Mac and cheese was cheesy and was not mushy at all. Several BBQ sauces to choose from. My favorite was the whiskey. We'll add this place to our list of options for when we're in Gulf Shores. read more

Been here a few times and service is always great. For me the Mac n cheese was decent, better than most. Restaurant is super clean and love the outside seating. Cold slaw was also great. Vinegar based!! Now we came for lunch and wasn't busy but the ribs were fall off the bone and tasty sadly was a little old ( been under the warmer way to long. Chicken was delicious but the brisket had an odd flavour to it. Pulled pork was also a little dry. This is only my opinion and the other times I've been here everything was on point. I ate here a few different times with a few other people. If you ask me if this is the best BBQ I have had, no, not at all. If you ask me if this is the best for the area, it absolutely is. The service I received was excellent. As you can see from the pictures, we had various items on the menu. Do I recommend the baby's back ribs? Nope, not at all, as this is more of a hybrid of spare ribs. If you are in the area and are looking for a BBQ and have nothing else, I am sure this will fit your pallet. Just don't expect it to knock your socks off being a true Southern type of BBQ place, in my opinion. read more

This is a great place to eat! We had the pulled chicken plate with white sauce and the crispy chicken plate also with white sauce. Both were divine. The crispy chicken was a half a chicken smoked to juicy perfection with a crispy skin. If you have not had Alabama white sauce try it here. You will not be disappointed. We also had the beachin shrimp sandwich minus the bread and sides. It is fried shrimp in hot sauce topped with their amazing mustard coleslaw and then topped with white sauce. I have no idea how one would successfully eat this in sandwich form as it is messy, but my goodness it is so delicious. The frickles were a good thickness and crispiness. I was not as impressed with their green beans, tomatoes and cucumbers, and Mac n cheese. The parking lot is a little small. You order at the counter when you come in and grab your own table. Ambience is a small bbq joint on the side of the road. Doesn't have a huge parking lot and is shared with a business on the side. Service was pretty good but just walk up and order so not a sit down and order kind of place. The food though was amazing. Some of the best bbq I've had. Incredibly tender and flavorful. I preferred the sweet sauce but they had 3 or 4 different sauces. Their fries were also (both the regular and sweet potato). If I could go back again I'd certainly get the brisket but if you like pulled pork it was excellent as well! read more

I was excited to try this place because I had heard great things about this small BBQ place. Upon walking up the counter, I walked through a sea of increasingly angry and hungry looking people as I got closer to the counter. Not good. When I go to order, the girl informs me they are out of wings,mac and cheese, ribs, and ice. Oh crap. Really?Well, I've made plans to be here so I guess I'll choose to stick it out. So, the food was great. Every single thing. All of the meats were satisfying and delicious. I usually don't like chicken at BBQ places because that is the worst meat but it was soo good here. The pork was amazing, sweetly smoked and tasty. The sauces were all very good, I especially liked the whiskey and honey sweet. Unfortunately, amazing food cannot save you alone. The service was dreadful. Long wait for the food, were missing a side of sweet potato fries that we alerted staff to but never got, and since we waited forever, we butted up to their closing time and so were shut out from getting more sauces and drinks. What a shame, this could have easily been an amazing five star review but terrible guest experiences knocks this place off by two stars. If this place is packed, do yourself a favor and move on to something else. I spent $85+ for counter service and I feel the hospitality should have been far better than what we experienced. The food will bring me back, I hope management has been improved when I do. read more

We live in Texas so why would we stop at a BBQ joint in Alabama.... Well... It was so good we ate here twice during our vacation! The kids absolutely loved the food and we did too!
