So I had Harrington's in to do a "renovation" (their word), and I've tried to follow the program the best way I could. My understanding is that with an organic lawn care program and a reel mower I won't be able to have the manicured "green carpet" that some of my neighbors take great pride in. But once I was able to get my expectations in the right place, I've been very happy with my results. To sum it up, this is not the cheapest way to have your lawn taken care of. But if you take the long view and if reduction of lawn chemicals is important to you, it's money well-spent.

Meanwhile, I wasted an hour and he didn't have to pay for the motion. Nasty guy... just did that to waste my time. His $350,000 building in Bloomfield is in the name of another corporation, Harrington Properties, LLC, so I can't attach the building, but I'll find some other assets to grab. I'll keep you posted.

Being from California, the concept of trees, vast open spaces of land, and inclement weather are foreign to me; I needed help. My lawn was too big to mow myself; and I didn't want to add another chore to my bf's house upkeep list. We received a flyer in the mail from Highwood Landscaping offering a discount so I decided to test them out. Lawn mowed; no problems! After that test run, we kept them on for scheduled mowing, and I've been nothing but pleased. Then the Fall hit, the leaves were everywhere, everywhere, everywhere! We don't have this many trees in Cali! I never knew it could become such a problem. My lawn was definitely bringing the value of the neighborhood down, as it had become such an eyesore covered in leaves. But luckily, Highwood could take care of my Fall Cleanup as well. Phew. After several weeks of watching them closely to make sure we just weren't missing it, we politely asked if we misunderstood the services we were paying for and they responded by denying they neglected the weed-whacking and cancelled our service all together because the yard was too "bumpy." Perhaps they shouldn't have been mowing over the ONE tree our yard has and used a weed-whacker over the roots instead? If you want cheap, go with Highwood. If you want quality professionals, look elsewhere.

Initially, I was very pleased with the word Ecoturf Landscaping provided. They provided a very…read morecompetitive quote for sod for our front yard, they showed up on time and completed the installation. The work was guaranteed for a year. It was good thing, because at least of it died despite us watering regularly, etc. When we called, we were informed that the sod was diseased from the vendor and they would replace. They did and all was good until the next year. Suddenly, despite us using pest/fungas/crab grass control, fertilizing and watering, we developed a wealth of weeds. In particular, a lot of crab grass. Since that time we have paid Ecoturt to aerate, fertilize and do spring clean ups. This year our lawn just died and all we can grow is weeds. I emailed Ecoturf and asked them to come out and look at the lawn. I got no response. I called twice and left messages and got no responses. Recently, I spoke with my neighbor who said that they fired Ecoturf because their lawn was getting weeds (and she had a really nice lawn). All in all, I am very dissapointed. I have likely spent about $4,000+ dollars with Ecoturf and I have a lawn full of dead grass and weeds. My suggestion would be to find a different landscaper.
