The bathroom had tons of lighting and a shower only (no bulky bathtub to worry with). Hotel has plenty of free parking, an indoor pool with hot tub, and a small fitness center if you're into that sort of thing. The staff wasn't the most friendly bunch, but it's hard to blame them with the current strained Canada / U.S. relationship. We are living in crazy times for sure. Do take note all Hhonors Diamond members: your $10 per person credit benefit is NOT VALID in the pantry and only on continental breakfast. We learned this the hard way after dropping $20 on sodas and snacks. It works different in Canada than it does in the U.S.A. I'd stay at this hotel again if I was passing through the area. As we walked in at around 8pm there was mayhem. Apparently a hockey tournament was staying there. Tons of kids running around screaming by and the parents were not that much better. We assumed we would get a quieter spot and couldn't wait to get out of the lobby and elevator. But ok and behold our floor was even worse. Doors slamming kids screaming. Parents banging on doors. Now I get it. It is a fun time. But we don't have to be in the middle of it with a baby. So I went downstairs and eventually we got a room on the office floor and some breakfast vouchers and a few drink tickets. By this time it was 9:30 or so and our little one was exhausted. And even though we were assured and called months in advance. A crib was in neither room yet. So the manager was very nice and helped. Even brought the crib herself. But if you knew about both (baby and tourney). Why put us in the middle of it. And make us ask to change. In the end it worked out and was not a bad place to stay. Breakfast was decent and had variety. Staff like us were beaten down by the tournament. There is a pool. We didn't see it. Also. We were overcharged and had to try to get our original price to be charged. Another pain. So what may have been a 3.5 stars is now back to a solid 3. There was no hassle to check in or out, which is always a plus for me! The staff I encountered were all very friendly and knew some of the basic questions. Although, I would encourage the staff to maybe know a bit more in terms of what to do. Trails can get boring everyday and reading in a lobby isn't much of a "fun" option for me. The room itself was your basic room with two beds. They do have sleep number beds (although on bed wasn't working- not a good look!) The one that did was fun to play around with and see what numbers you enjoyed. Just a heads up: It may take a few nights for you to figure that out. I've come to learn I don't like soft mattresses as much as I thought! My two issues with the room were the things that took away that 5th star. The toilet didn't flush properly. It was quite irritating to literally hold the handle down until you see the water go down because if you didn't, it wouldn't flush. The pillows aren't your average length pillows, they reminded me more of couch cushions. I found myself constantly falling of the pillow whenever I would switch positions. That doesn't make for a good sleep at all. Other then those two complaints, it was a good stay and I would visit again. Maybe with my pillow in hand next time though.

I had to take a couple of work meetings, and found the internet to be a little slow/choppy. But other than that it was a comfortable stay. The Starbucks in the lobby was helpful, and the location is super walkable, right in the heart of downtown Hamilton. The complimentary water bottles were super useful and a nice touch. They had a nice terrace and held a low-key viewing event for the eclipse. All-in-all we had the perfect little weekend getaway thanks to the Sheraton!

Walkable to most attractions. I highly recommend parking at their underground lot which will give you in and out privileges. The rate is good till 4 pm on the day of checkout. Room is standard and dated. Decor and layout is typical to Sheraton brand. Nothing too fancy but adequate for a short stay. Hotel is connected to Jackson Square and the bus terminal is right across the street. FYI: Go Bus serving YYZ and towards Richmond Hill has a stop in front of the hotel.

This time, after 2 years of covid coming back, figured I'd get a cute little Airbnb close to my family's house. Close it was and disaster it was! They came in 7-8 times to the unit in 12-14 hours of me being there. Unannounced, unauthorized! It was that crazy. Long story short, Airbnb got me out ( luckily after 4 -9 calls/ emails) and put me here. Not much was available. And I appreciate this so much more! Walking in here albeit it was late/ after a stressful day, this was such a haven. The front doors don't slide open at night due to homeless, they have to buzz you in! That threw me off a little like ok where am I!?! But I guess most cities/ downtown's having this problem right now. They have stuff shortage like everywhere else, so check in was just check in. You can get their luggage carts yourself, load and or park and load. The receptionist ( Meagan I believe) was super nice to let me park out to load/ check in first. Then go park underground. So much better that way. The room was super spacious. Kitchenette was super clean, bathroom was nice. Even the kind bed was comfy. Could look a little more better if they tuck in/ do a better bed prep. But! It was a ok without it :) They had breakfast every morning ( or my room came with it). I didn't make it most days (4 days) only because I don't eat breakfast. But I made it in for coffee which was available all day. Even decaf! They also had a happy hour thing/ Thursday 4-6:30 I believe. Some cheeses, drinks etc even some tacos. I went for juice and coffee. Still great. Overall , it was very empty during my stay. The gym was small but clean. The Hammer! Downtown Hammer/ Hamilton is busy/ but empty. It's a nice change. But perfect escape from my nightmare Airbnb! I don't know If I would like this place as much if book and check in here without Airbnb disaster. But I definitely appreciated my stay here! Only if they weren't so expensive though. I stayed in Park Hyatt Toronto after this. Thought about coming back but the prices here are pretty high. Not as high as Park Hyatt Toronto but almost as much as Hyatt Regency Toronto. At checkin there was a disconnect amongst front desk, housekeeping and management. We received and confirmed our checkin invite via the system 24 hours before arriving. Being a Platinum Elite member, our profile clearly reflects our preferences as high floor and room away from the elevator. We were first assigned a high floor next to the elevator. We had to came back to the front desk and request a different room. They then assigned us a lower floor. This means they never even bothered to look at our profile before or even at physical checkin! Breakfast is non- eventful. You are better off going to a coffee shop! Then, coffee that was offered at checkin (3pm) was cold and tasted horrible. After one sip, I threw it out. They shouldn't even offer leftover breakfast coffee after noon if no one is going to bother to check and replenish. We decided to go back to staying at Marriott's IN Toronto as we had in previous years and had great experiences.

Luckily, the female employee ended up helping me to get us checked in. She explained when the complimentary breakfast was and she answered all the questions I had. We got a standard room with 2 queen beds. Beds and pillows were both firm so I didn't get much sleep since I like sleeping on a soft mattress and pillow. Some buttons on the remote control were not working properly, or perhaps it needed new batteries. It was nice that our room did have a microwave and fridge. The sink stopper in our bathroom was not working properly either so our sink drained very slowly. Shower pressure was fine and I loved the scent of the body wash they had. Breakfast was decent with some pastries, cereal, milk, eggs, bacon, waffles, mixed fruit, coffee and tea. Gym was small and having more than 3 people in there would feel super crowded. It's a mediocre hotel and nothing really stood out to me, but again, for the price we paid for, it was worth it.

The reviews were right; It was nice, spacious, clean, and the staff was friendly. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how nice and clean The Sandman was, despite such a reasonable price. (Although I wasn't thrilled about the $200 hold when I checked in, but...it happens). My only complaint is that this place was nowhere near the convention centre...but that's my fault for waiting so long to book. Otherwise, I did enjoy my stay at The Sandman and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

I picked this months ago and after our experience, we were pretty satisfied overall. Our room was nice and spacious enough for the two of us. We had a queen bed and also a sofa that could be converted into a mattress from inside if needed. We also had a little kitchenette and full fridge which I was impressed by. We didn't use it during our quick stay but it was nice to have everything if we needed it. Breakfast was very nice actually. Since we stayed on the weekend, the hours were from 7:30-10:30 am. Food selection had alot of variety and there was always an attendant manning the area and greeting people. It was clean and accessible with many places to sit in the breakfast area. There were many rooms occupied on our floor, we could hear them when we were walking in the hall but not from our room. So I'm glad we weren't situated right next to any neighbors for our stay. All the staff and everyone we came in contact with were friendly, helpful, and professional. The only thing for me was that the fan was quite loud at times when I made the room cooler. It wasn't a white noise, "easy on the ears" type of sound. But luckily it would go away after some time. And the sofa was very firm, it wasn't comfortable. Those are really the only complaints about this place that I have, everything else was done well and we had a great stay here. Location was perfect for the TD Coliseum, restaurants in the area, and also for transportation and bus stops. It's walking distance and accessible to so many things. They gave us complimentary ear plugs. XD They had 2 security guys inside the hotel at night. The area is scary/sketchy, one lady was banging on the hotel door at 4am in the morning, screaming "let me in!" Another guy on Meth was sitting around the hotel in the morning. Found out, there is a shelter few blocks away. The garage is so small. Our floor smelled like wet dog. Their complimentary light dinner was inedible. Only good thing: Our room was clean.
