My husband and I happened to stumble upon the Mohegan Diner...and, we were pleasantly surprised. It seemed unassuming but it exceeded our expectations in every way. Imagine the best waitress you ever had (warm, helpful, and attentive)--that was Donna, terrific food (we both had the lunch special lentil soup and half a ruben), and we split tiramisu. The owner even came by and gave us some tips on which dessert to order (his wife makes them all). The food was amazing. We will definitely go back next time we are up that way. read more

The food was at or below mediocre--the tuna in the wrap was good, the side of "turkey sausage" looked more like kielbasa that may have been cut up to make it look like there was more on the plate. It was warm when it was brought out and down to room temperature about half way through the meal. Now, for the "nickeling and diming"! There was an extra charge for "lettuce and tomato," and avocado, and to substitute egg whites for whole eggs, and to use a credit card. While I do not have an issue, in general, with the idea of charging extra for "extras." For the amount they charged for the lettuce and tomato, and the avocado, they could have purchased a whole head of lettuce, a whole tomato, and a whole avocado. If you need to or want to raise your prices, raise them. Please do not "nickel and dime" us. Credit cards are as convenient for vendors as they are for customers. If you do not want to pay the credit card fees, do not take credit cards. I would expect an immediate and precipitous drop in your revenue, more than what you would be paying in credit card fees. A lunch consisting of diner fare for four adults and a child cost over $100. If I had known this sooner, I would have went to one of the other "finer" restaurants in the area. I hope that this enables others to make more informed dining choices. read more

French toast was burnt on one side, no sign that any egg was used just slice of brioche thrown on a grill where onions and peppers were cooked. the French toast tasted like onions!!! steer clear of this diner, they can't make something as basic as French toast. read more

Prices here have gone comically high. They're charging high end restaurant prices for basic diner food. I understand inflation caused some price increases to cover costs, but this is pure price gouging. Went here yesterday in between a sad event with my family. We called ahead, as we were a party of 20, and we were accommodated right away. We sat in 2 separate tables, but that was okay. Restaurant was clean, and overall not that crowded. Our Server was awesome, and accommodated us promptly with drinks. Some of us ordered alcohol, some of us ordered sodas like i ordered a root beer, and most of us were fine with just water. Now, a little bit of a mess up was that i finished my root beer, but instead of asking if i wanted a root beer, they just refilled it with water. it is fine tho, as water is the best thing for your body anyways. I ordered the short stack of pancakes, which was big, and i didn't even finish, but it was good. The other portions of everything else was also somewhat big, which is good. overall enjoyed this place. only con is that the food was a bit pricey. read more

Every time I come here I leave thinking why why WHY did I come back? The staff is always friendly - that's the only thing keeping them from getting 1 star. Our waitress was very playful with y 18 month old which gets her brownie points. The food has really gone downhill from years ago. I ordered a fried egg n cheese on a roll ... It came out cooked well done with a firm yolk... Yuck! I asked my server to bring it back as have them make a new egg with a runny yolk... When it came out it was thick and gross. Waited awhile for the food but had the French onion soup which was really good! The breakfast crepes are packed with nutella, a good or bad thing depending who you are. Husbands hungry man breakfast was underwhelming according to him, one sausage was not up to his standards as most diners give at least two for a hungry man. Our waiter was nice and checked up on us. I have been eating at this diner since 1987. I ordered steak and eggs today and the steak was stringy and full of sinew. I called it to the managers attention quietly, and I told him that I wanted to point this out to him as a friend, but that his quality has obviously dropped. I said I wanted him to know that it's recognized, that it has dropped and I didn't want him to harm his business by focusing on profits. He childishly told me to not order the steak next time I came, and I'm here to tell you that there will not be a next time . I am way beyond disappointed. read more

The first thing I noticed when I walked in was that it smells like the cafeteria at sleep away camp. Not a bad thing, just triggered an unexpected memory. They have a great diner menu. Parking gets a bit tight sometimes. Service was pleasant and prompt. I had breakfast on a Friday. The place was pretty dark and not a lot of customers. Service is prompt and friendly this day, but the diner is sparsely populated on the day after Thanksgiving. Asked to change seating after being directed to the booth closest to the cashier and bus stand, which was silly given the emptiness. Asked for a window booth, which greatly "lightened" the meal. Walked in on a rainy Monday - mid morning, for brunch with a friend. Not crowded at all, lots of booths opened. The waiter appeared annoyed, unfriendly and pointed to a corner and told us to sit there. He arrived at our table with menus, throwing them on the table, again annoyed and unfriendly, walking away quickly. Upon ordering our food, the waiter arrived with the wrong order. When we explained there was a mistake, he tried to be adamant that he did not make a mistake (I ordered scrambled egg whites, he forgot to request egg whites only). This diner is unfriendly from beginning to end....staff appear annoyed to be serving people. Cannot say have had many positive experiences going here. The service is good-great and they don't rush you to leave your table. Those are the positives. On the negative aspect, have had over cooked dark brown pancakes. Thought they were using whole wheat! Lol Had undercooked sausages. Needless to say, an uneaten breakfast. I came here with my boyfriend & his parents for lunch and I have to say that the experience & food was underwhelming. The waiter was inattentive as it clearly looked like they were understaffed & didn't really come and ask if we needed anything, so when we did we had to flag another worker there for help. I ordered the Mexicana omelette topped with chili (which I did not like) that came with potatoes and toast. The potatoes were incredibly under seasoned and the omelette was just ok. The only thing I really liked were the crispy fries that came with the souvlaki platter my boyfriend ordered. When I go to a diner I don't expect to be blown away by the food, but I was expecting a better dining experience here, which I unfortunately did not get. read more

I ordered a breakfast wrap with home fries. I am in a sling after surgery and I had my friend go inside the diner to pick up the meal for me. The lady behind the counter and other staff had some of the worst customer service I've ever seen as they yelled at my friend asking her for what the order she had placed. they said they never went by names and that the grill turns off at 10 PM (keep in mind the advertised 24 hour service). After arguing for five minutes with the front desk lady, my friend came to get me as she was visibly upset. Went to the diner about a month ago. there was a fellow there with a beard without a mask. He worked there. Then a woman came in with two teen aged girls and they were all over the place with no masks. When I mentioned the lack of mask wearing to our server she replied that the woman was his wife. I've been to this diner plenty of time before COVID and it was "ok", I went this afternoon to get lunch on the way home from a long trip. I was happy to see them following the new pandemic rules. Prices have gone up and for a bacon cheeseburger it's $15? No pickle, no slaw. I can go to the Carriage House and have a better burger for $15. The burger tasted ok, except the bacon was chewy and made it hard to cut and bite. I liked the fries, not soggy and not too well done. I would probably eat here again but wouldn't go out of my way to seek them out. read more
