She is very thorough, which we really appreciate. Her nurses have all been awesome as well. They're also very accommodating- we've never had any issues making appointments & we've never had to wait long when we're there. Dr. Wu takes the time to make follow-up phone calls and she participates in the Follow My Health service where you can also email her office if you have other questions that might not need an immediate phone call, which I find convenient. Our son has been seeing her from birth to now at about 6.5 months. Unfortunately for us, we are changing insurance and won't be seeing Dr. Wu in the new year- and THAT we're pretty sad about! Yes, parking is still $2....but at least in our experience, spaces are always ample.

So of course we went and did the "meet and greet" with a couple of Doctors just to see what was out there. I initially went through the list of doctors that were on our providers list... then also went through and looked at where they went to school and what year they graduated (didn't want an old geezer and didn't want a newbie).... lastly, I stumbled across a list where you can check San Diego magazine online and look up Best Doctors in San Diego. That was very helpful! And here is where I ultimately decided to check Dr.Wu out. We saw a total of three pediatricians on meet and greets. Dr. Wu was our last one, and a last minute decision after we weren't absolutely thrilled about the first two Docs we saw. Dr. Wu is soooo nice and patient. She is open to answering all of our questions and of course I have a list written out every time I come in (being a new mom). I just really liked that she was thorough and warm in her relations with us. I felt that she was very knowledgeable and that "no question is a dumb question". My daughter is 10 months old now, and I'm still very happy with our decision on Dr.Wu. She is definitely a keeper! Btw...She's in the Sharp Rees-Steely Medical Group (so we have had to see other Docs and nurses on sick visits)... but she is linked with Children's Hospital if there is ever a need for hospital care for our little one. Parking is probably my biggest gripe. Its $2 every time (with validation). Never had to wait very long at the office, which is good. Making appointments is not so bad since I make them months in advance for the well-baby check-ups. Sick visits aren't so bad either since you see whoever is available.

After my C-section, I presented with severe abdominal and vaginal pain. She was rude and nasty and stated surgery didn't cause any of my symptoms. I had severe undiagnosed endometriosis at the time and didn't even know it. She recommended I have my cervix out without any explanation as to why she was recommending that type of surgery. What physician tells you to move forward with removing an organ without an explanation? The doctor who assisted her during surgery is nowhere to be found. Her office has stated the doctor decided not to practice anymore. Now I have to have endometrial tissue removed from my C-section scar among a whole host of other issues due to this physician completely dismissing my symptoms. My girlfriend had a C-section with this same doctor and has permanent damage between her vaginal area and rectum.

I messaged Dr Kohatsu on the portal about the machine not there. Asked if there was another place. The Assistant messaged me back telling me to find a location and let them know. I called my insurance for a location a few days later I received info. So, I sent the info on the portal. Then I get a message from Jaynie telling me to get a fax number. I said please feel free to call and get it, I was currently dealing with cardiology appts for surgery next week. If she could get the info I'd appreciate it. She messaged me again telling me to get the fax and get back with them. That was a First time an assistant refused to assist. I just called my primary care doctor and asked if he could order the DEXA and gave him the info the insurance gave me. In 1 hour, I was being called by the imaging center to schedule appt. I loved my experience at best start and am heart broken that it is no longer open for clients…read more I had wonderful interactions with the staff from the beginning. They accepted me midway through my pregnancy which was amazing because I moved to SD at 30 weeks pregnant. At my prenatal appointments the midwives were thorough, respectful, friendly, and never seemed rushed. The building itself was cozy and I never had issues parking. I ended up barely making it to the birth center before my baby was born (my fault for waiting too long), but Erina, my midwife, was so calm, direct, and encouraging. They were so respectful of my wishes and gave us space and time as a family of three after my baby was born. I would hands down birth here again if it opens!

She told me about the wonderful experience that she had and how the owner was so welcoming I got my consultation signed up for all the classes took all the classes initially it was a really good experience I had my sisters come in and help through the classes we had a really good experience however I got changed over to a different nurse. Her name was Sharon Wilson. She looked at my profile and instantly start questioning me about who was unborn childs father, who was gonna take care of my kid how I was gonna take care of my kid if the father was gonna be involved all of these questions. She was supposed to only be offering me healthcare. I didn't argue. I was a bit upset that she was questioning me like I was in an interrogation room. Shortly after she starts writing in my file I'm not sure what she wrote then the owner comes in and tells me her facility cannot accommodate me. They did recommend a great doctor, Dr. Wong, who ultimately delivered My Baby. However, the bias and treatment that I got from Sharon Wilson was not great. I felt like she was trying to intimidate me to get me angry so that she can write me off not giving me a chance to have the same experience as my friend. Now I know that it's their choice based upon certain medical issues . However.I felt like Sharon was against me and whatever she wrote in those files was not the truth. Looking back almost 13 years later I realize that going to Dr. Wong was the best choice for me hewas patient. He was kind understanding and he was nonjudgmental. everything you would have thought a nurse would be,Not sure if best start is still open however, if you are, please hire people who are willing to ensure that the patients are not prejudged and they don't have a bias against other others.

Dr. Scott Upton was recommended to me about 9 years ago from a trusted family friend, and needlessly to say, over the 9 years, I've made sure whatever health insurance I picked let me keep him as the Primary Care Physician for my family and me. Dr. Upton is hands down the best Primary / family doctor I've had in all my years of experience. He is extremely patient, even with a thousand questions (including ignorant questions born from things read online or heard from second hand info). He is extremely knowledgeable, generous and humble in his knowledge-if he is not familiar with something he does not make up answers, but will research and get back to you to share his findings. The Doc is multi-dimensional in his thinking and willing to consider all possibilities, with the focus of providing his patients the best care. Dr. Upton has helped identify serious medical issues that could have been life threatening, and provided calm and a sense of peace when I had a couple potential diagnosis scares that turned out to be nothing. As far as the rest of the staff at the office, they have always been courteous, though there is bound to be some administrative miscommunications from time to time (that happens in any profession be it a drive thru, restaurant, grocery store, etc). I know some people may rate a doctor based on their overall experiences with the office staff and not just the doctor. For me, my focus of this review is on Dr. Upton, because at the end of the day, who I trust with medical care is the priority - and when it comes to that, Dr. Upton sets the standard.
