Awesome kennel and grooming! My fur babies love their spa time there. Kathy has groomed my dogs for at least 28 years and I won't go anywhere else. We also get our dog food there. This is a great place who takes pride in doing their jobs and very well, indeed. The owner has known my Pomeranian almost since birth and he is 5 years old now, knows and remembers everything about him. Every month when I have him groomed, I leave him there with confidence that they will cut & trim him perfectly. The kennels are kept up superbly and the employees are always friendly and helpful. I have never seen anything negative or any of the pets mistreated there. I would never hesitate to recommend Mohican Kennels to anyone. Very clean kennel. We have tried several other kennels in the area with mixed results. After using several other kennels in the area and repeatedly having to treat our dog and house for very bad flea infestations upon picking our dog we found Mohican Kennels. We have never had a flea issue when boarding our dog there and the staff has always been very friendly and upfront with the cost. Mohican may be slightly more expensive than other kennels in the area but when you factor in the cost of multiple flea treatments for the entire house and dog we have saved hundreds of dollars and headaches since switching to Mohican Kennels. The staff is always attentive to any special needs of the dog and have been able to board our dog on very short notice during unexpected business trips. I went to pick up my pets and I saw the groomer inside the grooming room working on a small dog. The dog was afraid and it nipped at the groomer who then slapped the dog in the face and began yelling at it. The dog was terrified. Even though the grooming was good on my pets they will not be going back there. read more

We have never owned pets that needed grooming until last year, so this area was one that we lacked knowledge in. We looked into mobile pet grooming (price was WAY out of range for us!), so we reached out to family and friends for suggestions. Several people suggested Mohican kennels for grooming. When I called, the staff was very friendly, and I was super excited to learn that I could drop our little guy off in the morning, and pick him up after work on my way home. When I dropped him off, they asked how I wanted him groomed. I very honestly said that I've never had a dog groomed before, but showed them where he definitely needed trimmed, didn't want him to have a full-body buzz cut, and told them to have at it from there. Check-in was quick and easy, pickup was smooth, and Brutus looked so great! The groomer did a wonderful job with the very minimal information I had provided her with! Not to mention, the prices are so reasonable! We were so pleased with their service and our experience! The ONLY reason that I did not give 5 full stars: Upon dropping him off and picking him up, the waiting area is a little small and congested. It was a little uncomfortable with all of the dogs and cats hanging out together in the same little waiting room. Again- This is the only reason I didn't give 5 full stars. Brutus has another appointment to go back! We will continue to take him there for his grooming, and regularly suggest Mohican Kennels to family and friends! read more

This place should be shut down. My dog was beaten in the eye by staff so bad that the entire white of his eye is bloody. Here is what happend. I left my dog with them for 2 nights stay and a nail trim. When dropping off the dog the girl that took him back handled him rough, pulling up on the leash hard and practrically dragging him down the hall. My dog has stayed at many kennels and dosen't resist but apparently he wasn't walking fast enough for this girl. Upon picking him up they had forgotten to trim the nails. They decide to do it while I wait. I was in a hurry so I wasn't thrilled that I was going to have to wait. About 5 minutes later one of the staff comes out from the back and says "I'm not doing anymore trimming, your dog bit me." I said fine, give me my money back if you aren't going to finish the job. Another lady says she will attempt to trim them if I hold him. In a hurry I say fine. In retrospect I can't believe I agreed to do their job for them. There were plenty of other staff members there, someone else could have helped her. By that point my dog was so stressed that I couldn't get him to sit for the last few nails. He was so stressed because he had already been beaten in the eye. Upon returning home I notice that he doesn't look right and I see that the white part of his right eye is all blood. I am furious and immediately return to this joke of a business. And what do they do? They try to say I did it while holding him. I even consider that that might be the case, the crappy plastic muzzel they used on him wasn't tight and I thought that maybe I did scratch his eye. That is until I take him to the Vet and she tells me that she is certain that this type of injury couldn't happen that way and that it could only be from BLUNT TRAMA. In other words he was BEATEN. Beaten in the back where I couldn't see what they were doing. Probably BEANTEN with the trimmers when the girl got nipped. Not bitten and bleeding but nipped. At this point I call the humane society and the police. Not at all shocked that neither one of them were of any help, thanks for nothing. So my recourse is an all out assault to their business reputation. And I will make them pay for the abuse they inparted on my sweet animal.
