I had Mojo Cycles tune up my bike for the start of cycling season and I'm so happy to have tried them out based on some recommendations from neighbours! In the past I'd gone to Sweet Pete's and Matteo's mobile bike repair service, which were both great as well, but for the service and value I got at Mojo, I now will stick with Mojo even if it's a bit more of a trek. My bike was already in decent shape but they made it ride much more smoothly in higher gears. Plus, they installed my new pedals that I had bought but couldn't install myself without a pedal wrench AND, proactively, they fixed up my kickstand (that I installed myself, wonkily, I must say) and my bell that was a bit off kilter. Friendly staff and fast turn around time too with the spring rush, got my bike back within 24 hours. I highly recommend this bike shop for your bike repair needs! read more

I showed up on a Saturday, a little close to closing time and they graciously helped me, with great attention and very reasonable price. I recommended them to a neighbor without doubt, the name has a ring to it which makes it easy to remember. I would definitely recommend them again. I left my girlfriends bicycle at mojo's for 2 business days for a tune up and all was well a few weeks ago. Then recently I dropped my bicycle off and was told to drop by in 5 business days so I did after 6 business days and was told it was the next bike to be worked on. So I waited till 2:30 the next day and dropped by to check since I had not been notified yet, the bike was still in the back room not even being worked on. Then I was told I should of waited for a call. I was then told that I should have more patience. That's when I asked for the bike to be returned and then left. I didn't like how I was treated and did not receive any service. read more

What a gem! If you're looking for an honest-to-goodness, non-pretentious bike shop- this is your place! Joe, the guy who runs the place, is a total sweetheart, ethical business person, and excellent bike mechanic. I found the prices for tune-ups and bike parts/accessories to be extremely fair and the service was outstanding. Joe did a very thorough, careful tune-up on my bike last fall including a partial overhaul of the breaks and new wheels and tires. My bike came back to me spit-shined, carefully adjusted, and in perfect working order. I waited about four days and I brought my bike in on a walk-in. When I visited to see the work being done on my bike, I could see the care and hard work that Joe was putting into my bike and he asked for a lot of feedback from me about how I use my bike, how I wanted things adjusted, and my preferences for the parts he would be using. Joe is super friendly and helpful and he didn't make me feel intimidated at all in the way that cool, breezy macho bike folks can sometimes alienate the average rider. From our talks, Joe was pretty open to trading- swapping out old parts for new ones and counting the cost of the old part towards the new one if he can reuse and re-sell it. He has some very good quality basic parts for sale at incredibly low prices- a new set of light aluminum wheels and grippy, streamlined tires for my road bike cost approx $140. I paid very reasonable prices for parts (grip tape etc) and there was no installation fee, all labour on my bike was covered under the $45 tune-up charge. At the time, I was considering purchasing a new bike saddle from the shop.. Jo has these really great Brooks style leather saddles that are italian knock-offs and he charges about $40 for them, if i remember correctly. Very cool. Kindof wish I had bought one.. 4.5/5! What can I say? Joe's great! I brought my second-hand ride in at the beginning of spring 2012 to convert it from a 10-speed to a single-speed. Joe suggested a modest number of parts, and only replaced what I requested him to replace. He was honest about the quality of my bike and made tentative suggestions that I could act on if I found that my riding was aversely affected (ie, my rear wheel is not a perfect circle, but no need to replace it if I didn't find it bothersome). We took 15 minutes to align the handlebars and seat when I came in to ensure that it was a good fit. Everything was so shiny I suspect he took an extra day just to clean it -- and I point this out only because my bike hadn't been covered while my landlord did renovations and was covered from bow to stern in a thin layer of dust and grime. I had a fairly extensive list of stuff that I needed done and wasn't sure what the labour costs would be -- but it turns out Joe sunk it into the $45 cost for a regular tuneup. Colour me impressed. Fast-forward to mid-August 2012: my boyfriend and I both brought our bikes in for a mid-season check-up. My bike was cleaned thoroughly, a small bolt was replaced, and the back inner tube was swapped out. He also swapped out the rear hub on my boo's bike, made a few adjustments to the angle of the seat and the level of the handlebars, changed the grips, and returned it gleaming like new. We find Joe personable, his service impeccable, and the atmosphere in the shop welcoming to everyone, from knowledgeable bike geeks to folks like me just rolling off the street. And bonus: today, when we were in the parking lot at Walmart and the car died unexpectedly, we ran into Joe who had parked just a couple spaces down from us. He immediately offered us a boost. Jon did a fantastic job on my bike. After some bad experiences with no work being done at some shops and snotty staff at most, Mojo cycle reminded me why I ride my bike in the first place. I went in because my wheel was messed up and I wanted a new saddle. He did his darndest to fix my wheel and when he couldn't - didn't charge me for it and advised me on how long I could probably use it before replacing the rim. I don't know what else he did but my bike is riding smoother than it ever has before - my guess is that probably he is magic. He's also super nice! read more

All time favourite bike shop! I used to take my bike to their Queen St location (so sad it closed!) but I will now be busing my flat tire up to their Dundas location. I know that they will be honest. They will oil my chain and pump my tires for free every time. And their pricing is as low as you'll find. They go above and beyond! I used to have a very old rickety bike and one spring literally every single mechanical part on the bike needed fixing. They only charged me their regular tune up fee and they fixed it up perfect! Another year I rode my brand new bike on an icy, salty day and the chain rusted up. Again, they cleaned every single bit of rust off and only charged the tune up fee. I've been incredibly happy at their wonderful service every time I visit for years now. Just can't say enough good things about Mojo!! read more

These guys were so great to me. They gave me advice on what to look for when buying a used bike off Kijiji which did not help them at all. When I returned with my purchase, they fixed the seat and put petals on for free. They checked my bike was safe and told me about rules I need to follow to avoid getting tickets from the police. They even warned me as soon as I got to the store that the street outside was tag and tow and I should move my car immediately. They were nice guys all around and I would 10 000% be loyal to them from now on. read more

An online review is the LEAST I can do following my experience at Mojo Cycles today. I had tried to take my bike to another shop for a spring tune-up and was informed that it would be a MONTH before I got my bike back. Instead of going that route and missing out on the spring biking season, I took my bike to Mojo Cycles. Joe, along with two other gentlemen, serviced my bike in 15 min and at minimal cost. I had thought the back break pads needed replacing, but Joe assured me that they were fine for another season - saving me even more $$. Amazing service, unbelievable price and a really cute owner.
