I often say that, as a Thai chef, maybe it isn't fair that I review Thai restaurants but that's…read morewhat I'm here for. The service was really good at this restaurant. I was really looking forward to it as it had mostly good reviews and a couple not so good. It's a very small restaurant which sometimes can be exactly what I'm looking for. I felt the prices were a bit high and maybe the servings were a bit smaller than they should be. The tables were just beautiful. I loved the style. My sister ordered a curry with pork and it was clearly like a pork roll and she couldn't get the taste out of her mouth and she couldn't finish it which tells me something because she is the human disposal and when she doesn't like something it gives me a big heads up. I actually ordered more of a Chinese dish, sweet-and-sour pork. Although the ingredients were fresh, I ran into a couple with bad gristle. It was just not impressive for me. And because of my sister's reaction, I asked what she would give, and she said 'two'. For me to spend $50 for a lunch we're small portions not impressive on top of a bad taste in my sisters view shouldn't have more than two.. but I really like the style here and I bet you they could really come up in status if they tried. It's sad to say, although their sign is the coolest in the world that I won't be back. If you really want to know what could be improved, I would have to say not using sliced pork roll for one, a different serving than in a bowl for the curry . I would flatten the chicken pieces a bit before frying them so they're not huge hard chunks. I would make the sweet-and-sour sauce myself.. I would add a few condiments to the table sometimes that helps. When a recipe calls for pineapple, I think I would be sure to have some fresh pineapple ready instead of canned small slices. If I had to go with diced pineapple from a can, I think I'd add a few more than like five pieces in a sweet-and-sour dish. I think I would up the vegetables, accent the flavor stronger, and put more emphasis on your prep.

Lots of tasty oils and vinegars to try. Staff was friendly and helpful. My favorite was probably…read morethe maple balsamic or the espresso balsamic. All the vinegars I tried were fantastic. I wish we had one of these back home.

I absolutely adore this place. Imported and local olive oils and vinegars of all flavors. They give…read moreyou little cups to test what you like. So I did. I really enjoyed the white truffle oil (from Modena, Italy) and the Provencal Herbs (from Tunisia). What I absolutely REALLY loved is that each tin of oil has facts like where its from, best description of flavor like for the Provencal it said "subtle - savory, thyme & bay leaf, with lavender" or what the use is best for (i.e. salads, fish...etc) and balsamic pairings! I have to say their balsamic vinegars were my favorite. I almost died when I tried the Pomegranate Balsamic from Italy. The note card said: Medium tart and compliments: Salads, lamb, beef and duck Good Oil Pairings: Persian Lime, Chipotle, Basil Idea: With Basil EVOO, serve over salad greens topped with nuts, Feta Cheese and onion. I mean, that's great! You try something and are like "hmmm, what can I do with this..." well it gives you everything! I do agree with the other review in the fact that the sales people do hound you, but I didn't think it was annoying. She did leave us alone and made sure we knew to feel free to try any oils and vinegars we wanted. We had a few questions and they were incredibly nice. They also sell cookbooks, oil toppers, crackers and other stuff that goes perfect with everything they currently have. I think for organic oils/vinegars the prices are great. You can also buy online, seeing as they only have stores in Michigan! Cute, CLEAN store. I wish we had something like this in Dallas. I would be all over that! Mmmmhmmm.
