Father (founder) and son team came out and not only identified instances of pest and dry rot damage but suggested remedy/repair/scooe of same. No shortcuts taken as evidenced by significant amount of time inspecting crawl space below dwelling. First time I haven't used a national "brand," for this type of service and very glad that I received this great referral from another local vendor. Highly recommended. read more

Terrible experience!! They would show up 2 hours early or 3 hours late -- never came at appointed time. They left off part of our house in the inspection then almost ruined our closing by stating that it was "inaccessible" -- although they never told us they needed to get back in to inspect it. Everyone we worked with was rude, arrogant and seemed to be totally ambivalent about our issues. No one should use this company. read more

I would look elsewhere for termite/pest control help on the Central Coast... I'm just a renter so my landlord sent the Mojoe people over. The first time they came to my house to do the initial inspection, they were 25 minutes late. Then, on the day the treatment was scheduled, the guy arrived about 10 minutes late. Finally, on the day the crew was supposed to come do the repairs, I waited 30 minutes past the appointment time before I called the office to inquire. The woman who answered the phone was downright rude. She didn't bother to ask my name. Instead, she referred to me by the street name of my address. Mojoe ought to invest in some basic customer service training! Miss Rude told me the guy had been here at 9am, knocked and rang the door and no one answered. I was sitting inside my house by the front door at 9am. I had been outside 10 minutes earlier and assumed based on my prior experiences with them, that they would likely be late. Even if the guy got here early, why wouldn't he have the office call me to confirm the service was to be done at 9am?! Instead, he supposedly took off. The guy finally arrived after 10 am (keep in mind, this service was supposed to be completed in 1 hour!) and seemed to have no idea what he was supposed to do. Mojoe, do your employees not communicate with one another? Why should I have to be the one to explain to this guy where and what the termite damage is? Why didn't the same man who did the assessment and treatment give a pass-down to this repairman? The repairman left to get supplies from the hardware store to complete the job. He returned 40 minutes later and muttered to himself the entire time. He also asked me, "so are you going to be here all day?" I was on my lunch break but was forced to tell my work I couldn't come back for the second half of my shift because of this stupidity! I almost forgot... he reaks of smoke and walked up to my house with a cigarette burning. TL;DR: Doesn't arrive on time. Rude office workers. Service takes hours longer than prior estimates given. Unprofessional. You have better options than Mojoe. read more

Mojoe Termite is top notch! They thoroughly inspected my house a few years back and I asked them to inspect it again as I had renovated and delayed the fumigation and treatment. Gina scheduled the appointment for me and it was a pleasure talking with her since she is so upbeat. Juan showed up exactly on time and was courteous, professional, friendly and thorough with his inspection. Gina answered my questions about preparing for the fumigation and arranged everything. The woman who answers the phone is so incredibly rude (I wish I had gotten her name)! I called just to check availability for tenting services (they had already done an inspection of our property) and she had attitude from the beginning. She immediately said 2 weeks out because of the holiday...Thanksgiving was more than 3 weeks away! So I asked her to clarify if it was 2 weeks or after the holiday (big difference!) and she snapped at me saying to give her a date and she would check availability for that day. I once again asked her to clarify when their next available appointment was (I just wanted to know the earliest they could come out) and finally got a date nearly FOUR weeks out! I wouldn't have minded the wait time (everyone is busy!) but because of how rude she was I'll never call/use this company again! read more

For the work on our sale, Mojo told us they'd have the work done on a certain date. Based on that, we allowed the buyers to do the final walk-through two days after that. Mojo then confirmed that the work had been done as promised on that original date, so we closed escrow. After we closed escrow, we went to the house to find someone working there -- with the front door wide open and the boombox blaring. It was a sub-contractor to the sub-contractor for Mojo Termite. We were upset as we were told the work had been completed, had let the buyers do their final walk-through inspection, and had closed escrow without knowing the work wasn't done and without letting the buyers know the work wasn't done. At that point, the sub-contractor to the sub-contractor told us that at least he would be finished that day, so we gave the keys to the new owners. The next day, the new owners went to the house and were, in their words, "horrified." All kinds of work Mojo was supposed to have done wasn't complete. Wires were hanging in the back yard; siding was mismatched; painting wasn't finished. The buyers were a couple, and the husband was a lawyer; he looked at the contract and threatened to "lawyer up." That's upsetting, to say the least. In the end, Mojo got the work done by the fourth day after escrow closed, but that's not the point. Their lack of communication and professionalism made what should have been a standard situation into a very threatening, uncomfortable one. You want the buyer's first impression of their new home to be a good one, but instead, they were unhappy, upset and immediately went on the offensive. Basically, almost every termite company uses the same sub-contractor to tent. So any termite company should be competitive with their price for tenting (as they are just marking up someone else's service) and should have good quality, accountability and service when it comes to the repair work required to get a termite clearance. I agree with the bad reviews of this company, they did a termite inspection for the sale of my home, the buyer's real estate agent set up inspection, the inspector saw some termite frass in an area in the attic, he was asked by my realtor if it could be the old frass from years ago when we bought house and had it fumigated. Well he says to my realtor you can't tell the difference between old and new, well I have been in the Pest Control business for over 18 years and I'm here to tell you he is wrong. I've waited a year to post this review as I wanted everyone out there to know that Joe and his crew live up to and exceed their promises. I called the office several times and spoke with Lisa. Amazing. Patient. Efficient. My problem. Termites. I was given a very doable quote but had to wait to schedule the work to be done for the following year. Joe suggested a temporary fix and plugged the existing termites holes with his magic foam. This held the termites off for a year and by then, I was ready to have the house tented. The quote I was given the year before was still honored and I signed the contract. Prior to the big day, I was given some great instructions on how to protect my home and a bunch of huge plastic bags to store my perishables in. Joe's crew showed up early and had the house to tented in no time. The guys were all very friendly and took their time to jimmy the tent around some shrubs that were close to the house. After the job was completed, I was contacted by the office to make sure I was satisfied with the work done. I was! I live in a home that is almost 70 years old and has a lot of wood. It's a year later and not one indication of termites! No droppings. No infested wood. And my warranty is good for years! I definitely recommend MoJo Termite to anyone in need of help with their termite infestation and appreciates outstanding customer satisfication. read more

I hired Mojoe Termite Company at the start of 2009 to do a Tenting of my 1740 sq ft. home... with a 6 yr Warranty that if I 'saw any live termites in that 6 yr time period they would do it again for free'. About 5 1/2 years into the Warranty I had a Carpenter adding a cover onto my patio and he encountered a bunch of 'live termites coming out of the house wood where the patio cover was being attached'. I called Joe Swiontek to come out because the warranty was still in effect and I needed the house redone. He brought his partner (termite inspector) and when we showed him the termites we had caught he insisted that 'it was termite season (in Sept - Oct) and that he had just walked through a swarm crossing the street to my house'. We hadn't seen a 'swarm' we had SEEN them crawling out of the woodwork. So Mr. Swiontek and his inspector wrote it off as 'new termites. The Carpenter & I tried to show him other areas where more were located in the house. It did no good. They left with no 'follow through on their word of the 6 year warranty redo it if ANY LIVE TERMITES ARE SEEN'. And I saw them still crawling out of the woodwork days later. Now I have window sills that are eaten away since the time has lapsed due to his lack of honoring his Warranty from Termites that have been in here since he refused to 're-do the job'. Don't bother hiring this Company... Great Charm, lousy service, worse follow through. read more

Horrible communication! More than a half hour late to do the treatment. The next day one of their contractors was supposed to come out at 9 am. I waited for almost 45 minutes, and turns out they had scheduled a contractor that had a doctor's appointment. Their remedy was sending another guy out two hours later.
