Rockyview General Hospital - This is the note that comes on green sleeves, see how it says "PROPERTY of the patient"? They knew what they were doing.

Nov 14 2025. Brought my wife in due to internal bleeding…read morefrom possible miscarriage. it's bee 14hrs and counting and probably looking at more hours while we still wait for basic tests and assessments and she has yet to receive any treatment and continues to bleed. Lots of vital signs taking. have not seen a single doctor, only nurses. no water fountains , nothing much for food besides the very expensive cafeteria 5min walk away. toilets are dirty. No doctors was available overnight, wait times on the website is laughable at best. Too bad staff and management doesn't have to come in as a regular patient with no special needs. I wonder how they would find the situation. please avoid Rockyview as much as possible.

I caught influenza A on Christmas, just after my 35th birthday and it inflamed my asthma so bad I…read morespent two weeks in a coma in the foothills ICU and had kidney failure. They released me and then my heart started to fail so another ambulance ride unfortunately brought me to Rockyview. One of the doctors asked me if I was a smoker and I told him that I smoke one pack per year but not every year, and since I got so sick I'm never touching a cigarette again. Well he decided to gossip about me to the nurses at emerg and since they were grouped right outside my room with the door open I could here them exclaim "Oh my God she's a SMOKER?!" And they all treated me like shit after, refusing to make eye contact, being rough when touching me and giving a bad attitude when talking to me. One of them almost got vomit on them because he refused to hand me a puke bowl when I asked he said "For what?!" As if I was asking for no reason. Heart failure can also come with really bad nausea just FYI. This is 2025 and people in North America are literally doing the nazi salute and goose stepping over human rights but IM THE VILLAIN because I smoke sometimes? What about people who smoke everyday, every year?! How are they going to be treated? I find it absolutely disgusting that Rockyview staff treat people differently based on their personal opinions. Well they decided a filthy smoker doesn't deserve respect so they threw out my green sleeve from foothills. That information is now lost thanks to the judgemental douchebags at emerg. I wish this was the end of my rant but this is Rockyview so ofc the bullshit continues, they transferred me to unit 71 where one of the receptionists who has never met me or even seen what I look like decided to have a personal Vendetta against me, she constantly paged my hospital bed for staff "Alex to the front desk please. Alex to the front desk." EXCUSE ME MISS BUT ALEX IS NOT IN MY BED and it's hard to sleep with a speaker blaring right in your face so I tried telling HCA and nurses that she keeps paging my bed but no one believed me because it's never happened before so the nurses resorted to gaslighting me "maybe your just hearing things." And "maybe it's coming from somewhere else." Sweetie, it's a speaker that is right in front of my face and it vibrates when someone talks through it. I tried telling them I can hear her page my roommates bed before she pages mine and it only happens when she's on shift, no other receptionists were paging my bed. Finally one of the nurses gave me the benefit of a doubt and taped a pad over the speaker and silence was bliss. But not for long though because why not put someone with heart failure in the same room as a lunatic, cutting up her diaper first thing in the morning and then screaming as loud as possible "NOOOO GO AWAY! SHUT UP! GIVE ME MY KNIFE BACK! I WAS WORKING ON THAT FOR TWO HOURS!" or spending her days angrily commanding me to turn the sun off and yelling louder when I obviously couldn't. She had to make every day and night miserable for everyone, especially the staff, I felt bad some of the nurses in 71 were really nice but got zero respect from her. Speaking of which one didn't take me seriously when I asked for a sponge bath, I know it's not a pleasant thing to do but I wouldn't be asking if I was able to shower, but she made me shower and guess what happened? Couldn't see, felt sick, vomitted at some point and passed out. I came to in the bottom of the shower, naked ofc and this nurse looked at me with disgust and audibly said "ugh!" Like ok I know I'm not pretty to look at but can you keep your bullshit to yourself I literally have heart failure and the warmth and steam made me collapse. I really hope my heart doesn't give out and I get sent back to this hospital. Foothills or Peter Lougheed please, I don't appreciate being at the mercy of such judgmental opinionated staff.

People waiting in emergency being very very rude to the medical staff and expect to be treated with kindness! Think again!!! How would you react if you were on the receiving end of that abuse? Non emergencies could have gone to their family Doctor or a urgent care faculty. Being rude is not going to get special treatment of any kind. Yes, it's hard on everyone's mental patients of waiting. I'm not a person that goes to the hospital with a sniffle or a cough or even a fever. To some people they feel this is their only option, and with this it puts a stain on the emergency system. The nurses took very good care of my mom from the time she arrived to the time she was admitted for a stay. With extensive testing they did find many issues and is now being treated. (Even my dad has been to this hospital 8 years ago for a medical emergency. Even back then we had great medical attention) Kindness, Friendliness with a smile is what you'll get in return. With that said: it makes the medical staff feel better while doing this stressful job they love. -Easy access from Deerfoot Trail or Stoney Trail in the deep south -Emergency parking is pay parking -Limited free 2 hour street parking on the south side. (Good luck in finding a spot) -Plenty of underground pay parking for longer hospital visits or short. For a hospital that is 10 years old still has plenty of room for expansion and is in a great location to service Calgary south and towns. I would like to say I would be returning because of the great prognosis and treatment. But medically I hope not.

There was only one walk in person ahead of me. After a full 45 min passed. I asked if I had to wait for the same Dr that does walk ins to treat patients with appointments. I was told no. I was advised I would be in soon. I waited, again. Finally I was put in a room at 2:30. I asked approx how long I would be seen. The nurse said the Dr got tied up on a phone call but now, was in the room with the other walk in, and I was next right after her. I waited another hour, until 3:30 approx. I apologized for being cranky because I was hungry, thirsty & tired of waiting.. I explained I had been waiting over 2 hours. Her response was dismissive, she stated I had to wait for her to see 4 other rooms, before me. She said the desk does their best, and said something about my expectations being managed. I will never do a walk in at this clinic. The desk needs to be honest. No excuses, the waiting room was empty. I suspect the Dr had gone for lunch break. I could have taken a bus, gone to another walk in clinic faster and had lunch and water myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Not a nice way to treat a Senior citizen or anyone.

They made her wait 3 hours, said they didn't know what it was, and didn't even bother to take a swab. They said they didn't have the facilities to analyze a swab. Neither does a family doctor! They send it out to a lab! So they're essentially guessing it's a bacterial infection. The best part is, they told her to go to the hospital if it gets worse. An Uber driver would have been more thorough/interested in diagnosing the problem. Not impressed.
