We had Mold Solutions NW come out to look at some mold in our attic, after we got bids from insulation companies for new insulation and most of them commented on the (small amount of) mold they noticed in one area of the attic. These companies said it would cost us $500-$3400 for them to treat the mold. I was suspicious of this wide range and wide variety of treatments they said were needed, so I called NW Mold Solutions and Peter was able to come out a few days after I called him. He determined that our attic was bone dry, the mold was a very slow-growing type we didn't need to be concerned about, and said that if we wanted to we could treat it ourselves with a solution that cost $20. He then spent half an hour nerding out about mold, ventilation, and insulation, among other things (we had a very pleasant chat!) and he was on his way. To be honest with us instead of claiming it would cost thousands to treat this non-issue shows real integrity on his part and on the part of the company. Mold Solutions were recommended by a house inspector Ron West who was very thorough and we used when we bought our house because he had been so thorough when my Father in law sold his house. Like others have said he gave us suggestions and let us know that he can do set up a containment area... but really we just needed to replace the shower which had failed to be water proof and had mold on it... just needed to be updated. This is a review based on Peter's customer service. He called me promptly even though it was after normal business hours. I sent him photos and he called me back to tell me in his professional opinion we didnt need remediation for our garage. He spent a good 15 minutes educating me on mold after that. NW Mold Solutions appears to be the best available in the area. They use Clean Crawls which I was very happy about. Everyone was very friendly. Our attic is only around 1340 sf and the entire job cost about $7,000 so be prepared to fork out a pretty penny. I'm still uncomfortable with how much it cost, but they did a good job and the work will be under warranty for 10 years. They do NOT accept card payments which I think is absolutely ridiculous. I was told cash or check when I called to pay. Nowhere in the paper work does it indicate this and even the yelp site indicates they take cards. So now I have to do a cash advance, go to the bank and get a check cut and snail mail the payment. Seriously?!?! read more
