Daryl is fantastic! He may be the only mold remediation company in this world that is honest and true to their word. I had a long term pipe leak in my bathroom (fixed by a plumber) and he was out that same week to test the mold and the following week to remove and dry it out. Then, once dried out he repaired my bathroom perfectly even adding some extras to ensure it looked beautiful. He is honest, fair, and trustworthy. Although Daryl told some interesting stories, I would not recommend hiring him. The west wall of my entire house flooded from the outside in 2018. I had a 'mold remediation' in 2021. The man removed part of the interior drywall, but he did not remove all of the water damaged materials including the exterior sheathing under my stucco wall. I called Daryl because I wanted to make sure I eliminated all the mold sources in my house. One area I was concerned about and the reason I called Daryl was the attic. Daryl told me that it was not possible for mold to grow in my attic due to the heat here (He refused to even look). He also did a swab test in the west wall and said that the levels of Aspergillus were not high enough to make anyone sick and ignored the fact that I told him that the water damaged exterior sheathing of my house was never removed. He told me all I needed was to get my air ducts cleaned and there were no other areas of concern. I ended up taking the Moldfinders Method class (I highly recommend), and by the time I was done, I learned that the sheathing should have been removed, Daryl used a swab test which only identifies the type of mold (he should have used an air cavity test), mold can grow in my attic and it is there, and I found other places that had water damage by looking for other clues I learned through Moldfinders Method. I had my bathroom renovated years ago and when they tiled my shower they used grout instead of caulk where the fiberglass shower pan meets the wall tile. Well, the grout has eroded over the years and I had started to notice water getting in there. LONG overdue review! We bought a house back in December of 2019, which was vacant for about 2 years prior to us purchasing the home. After a few months, we noticed a bunch of little gnats/flies in the corner cabinet near the sink. I knew they were there because of moisture and there was a bit of a funky smell. We called Daryl and he came over to assess the situation. When it got into things, it was nasty... sludge under the corner cabinet. He took samples of the mold and sent them out to a lab. It was confirmed as mold and he provided us with a quote and solution to resolve the matter. Daryl was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Some of the cabinets were needing to be replaced and Daryl researched to find the manufacturer. Since Covid had just entered the scene, he was not able to connect with the manufacturer. Instead, Daryl rebuilt the cabinets from scratch and did a great job. He also helped me with some other little cosmetic things in the kitchen, which he didn't have to do (he didn't even charge me for it). We have used Darryl a few times at our house. Once when we were buying and we saw that the previous owners had a flood in the home, he came through and did a full home inspection and found a few areas that were not correctly replaced. His team did a fantastic job remediating the areas to where you would never know anything had ever happened. We've also had him out when we've had a few previous scares of mold. Jeff came to my home to test for mold by taking air samples. A total of 6 including outside samples. $1800 dollars for the testing and lab result report. This is highway robbery. I will blame myself for being so desperate and stupid to have agreed to this but after the fact realized what an idiot I was and that I was surely taken advantage of. The guy is a fast talking used car kind of sales person. And he will talk your ears off until you can no longer hear. And he claims he is a professor at GW, Ph.D., retired from HUD or whatever federal agency he said he worked for etc. Which are all fiction. He fabricates and really knows 0 about accurate mold testing, how to interpret results, the detrimental effects on people who are genetically susceptible to mold illness (about 25 percent of population), and plays the role of "mold expert". I just had my entire home inspected, inside and outside, humidity levels taken, dampness detection, 6 samples for mold testing, and written report of lab results- by a different company. For $299!! I still can not believe I was that stupid to spend $1800 and that this guy "the mold expert" can take advantage of unknowing victims. Wow. I bet this review will not be posted because Jeff writes the reviews and at the very least screens them and deletes the negatives. read more

We hired Moldex to help with mold in a guest bedroom caused by a roof leak, and we are so happy with the results! The owner does the work himself and he is a real expert when it comes to mold and construction work. He knew A LOT about mold and was able to answer all our questions. I was worried that the drywall and paint that was repaired would look different from the rest of the room but it is seamless, you can't even tell where the repair work was done. After remediation the black mold he PERFECTLY fixed the drywall and texture. He took the paint to get matched and it was spot on. You would never know that area was not the original wall. This year we called him again after we found bugs in the bathroom. He swabbed in the walls and it came back with mold. Darn it! Just as expected his workmanship is phenomenal. We are so happy with our remediation. We suspected we had mold somewhere after some allergies in the house. Daryl came out the day after I called and did walk through and took 4 samples. He found mold is places we didn't suspect (kitchen and a guest bathroom) and suggested the air ducts be cleaned. His bid for the remediation was very reasonable (and lower than any other estimate we got (we checked just out of diligence)) and included the rebuild. He completed the project in 4 days. He has a guaranteed bid, so even though our issue was larger than he estimated, the cost remained the same, which was a relief to us.
