I love using Moleskine for my sketchbooks and journals! They are perfect for bringing along as they are really sturdy but light and easy to transport. I also love that they look beautiful as a catalog once you've finished them. I've gone through SO many of the sketchbooks, logbooks, and lined journals and think they're just gorgeous sitting on my bookshelf for referencing after I've finished them. They also make a great gift and in my opinion are a great value for the cost! The staff at the SF Moleskine is first class. Very knowledgeable but not overwhelming. Everytime I have a question they know exactly how to answer it. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for some nice quality notebooks, planners, or specialty journals. Also honorable mention for all the special editions! I really hope they continue to bring out those types of collabs and expand their stationery assortment beyond just the timeless journals they have:) read more

First time at a standalone Moleskine store! They had every size, colour and type of Moleskine books you could want. And also all other product offerings as well like bags, cases and even customizable accessories and service to do in-house print of monogram/words on your purchased book. They have all the partnership/collab books as well like Le Petite Prince, Star Wars , etc. Prices are at regular levels here, no sales were spotted during my late December visit. They did have some beautiful gift sets here that you can't find any where else. Which are lovely gift ideas for stationery/paper lovers in your life! The next week I picked up a slightly larger size two pack of notebooks. These are some of the best quality notebooks and they are my jam. Whether writing Yelp reviews of a new veg-friendly spot or vegan spot in the Bay Area or whatever. Not only are the notebooks top quality I love the flavors aka the various colors of the notebooks. My dad always kept a journal in which he simply listed the things that he'd done that day: mowed the lawn, drinks with Richard, etc. And especially, I've always enjoyed looking back at these journals to see what we'd been doing on x day 2 years ago. That said, I've been keeping a daily journal for many years and I've settled down on the Moleskine daily planner, which has one page/day and which comes in a handy pocket-size. Yesterday, I went to the Moleskine store to buy my 2019 diary and I loved seeing the array of different colors that these come in now. And, upon check-out I learned that you can have your notebooks now embossed with your name or any other kind of short message. Loved that! read more

I went there to buy a notebook (shocker, I know). The person in the store was extremely friendly and knew his products very well. He gave me the right amount of informations and would provide more when asked. While I did not end up buying because there was nothing that fit the specific need I had, I had a great customer experience, and Moleskine have good product at a very attractive price. Really disappointed. I am a big fan of Moleskin in a time of Bullet Journals and have tried over a week now to get across town to replace a weekly planner. I even was in two months ago and got a few journals as well as the new pen despite staff being somewhat sarcastic while I genuinely was seeking some insights and solutions. Last Friday they were already closed at 6:50pm and I just called at 6:39pm and the woman working on the phone rudely told me that they are closing in 5 minutes even though their website and Yelp says they are open til 7pm. Please stay open til 7pm. People get off work and try to make it to your location for their business needs. As a result of this interaction, I am considering ordering my Moleskin online instead to avoid your rudeness after years of buying multiple Moleskin products at your location. read more

But today--- IT'S *NOT* OKAY TO LOCK CUSTOMERS IN THE STORE. When Jenny (?) introduced herself & asked if I needed help which I politely declined... *that* would've been a good time to also announce she'd be locking me in the store. The problem with that is -- when you quietly lock-up unannounced after engaging me (yet inform white patrons near the door)---- I'm gonna think the problem is ME which is why they also seemed on alert & wanted OUT. I let her know it would have been better to give people a heads up. Turns out it was closing time & her response was "well I can't keep letting folks in &also have a daughter to pick up from school". All understandable. But it's unfair & CULTURALLY INSENSITIVE especially for me as a Black semi-Masculine presenting Patron that's constantly followed & held "suspect" in stores to just promptly lock me inside unannounced shortly upon arriving. But staff is very friendly and there's a very great amount of different notebooks, pens, bags, planners to chose from here. I definitely would come back here again to shop for more. Yikes. I'm not a fan of their "policy" not to order items available online for store pickup. This is either a lazy store manager or an ineptness at the corporate level passed down to store level. Terrible customer service! Definitely rethinking my commitment to using Moleskine products. While I'm here; their mobile website rendering and user interface is terrible. I wanted to give gift of Moleskin travel journals to friends about to embark on long journeys. I called Moleskin in SF and spoke to the store manager Alex who is exceptional! He immediately put them aside and then in less than 30 minutes while I drove to the store Alex had them monogrammed and gift boxed so beautifully!! Not sure I see the valve in these items; I would have a hard time paying $25 for a notebook. When I'm a millionaire, I'm going to spend my fortune on Moleskines. I have never seen a standalone Moleskine store before and just passing by the window last week was enough to freak me out. Actually going into the store was like a shopaholic during Black Friday. I. Cannot. Handle. It. There are SO many varieties and colors. All their pens/pencils are laid out to be tested and let me just tell you, I am SOLD on Moleskine pens. Ugh the smooth ink and perfect grip.. Love the helpful staff and gorgeous layout. This place is AMAZING if you are looking for Moleskin. They just opened 2 months ago, and are the corporate store for Moleskin. They sell probably close to 100 different moleskin books. Square, dots, plan, lined, and more. Staff are super friendly and knowledgable. I got talking for 10-15 min. I also got me a great new book to journal. My only suggestion is don't buy the pens. The pens sell for half the cost on Amazon. The books probably 25% more which is fair since you get to try them and enjoy an awesome showroom, not to mention they often have promos. read more

I cannot sing higher praises for this store, and especially for the manager Katie!! I would give 10 stars if possible! I'm a nursing student at University of San Francisco and I am deeply attached to the Moleskine Pro Weekly Vertical Planner. I know it sounds hyperbolic to be so committed to a specific speciality calendar, but if you are a paper planner person you know what I mean. It is the exact planner I need to organize my busy schedule, track assignments due, and space to write all the lists that I could possibly need over the course of a year. You can imagine how I felt when I saw that the Moleskine website was out of stock for the large 2021 version of that planner--I started scrambling for a backup plan. I emailed customer service at Moleskine to ask if they would have it back in stock before the end of the year. When customer service responded saying that they didn't know when it would be back, I did the next best thing I could think of: I called the Moleskine store in SF to see if they had the planner at the store. I let out a huge sigh of relief upon hearing that they did indeed have the planner in stock, however, I then had to admit my next issue: due to the COVID housing shuffle I currently live all the way out in Lake County CA, hours from the SF store. Even though shipping orders is not a typical practice in this store, Katie went above and beyond to ship the planner all the way out to my home in Lake County, leaving me ample time before the new year to write in all of my 2021 commitments and goals! Katie was professional, communicative, and kind. I felt that my order was taken very seriously and I feel so grateful for the attention and follow-through that Katie gave my order. Customer service is subpar. Considering it is a brick and mortar, there are no distinguishing facts. For example, why not have opened floor samples so we can see what's inside? Why bother to have a store if it's like shopping online? Staff members also have an unpleasant attitude and look bothered when you ask them for assistance. read more

Was so excited to come here after discovering moleskine in NYC! Was not dissapointed. Staff was friendly and helpful in showing me various notebooks. Unlike most high end stores where staff can be pretentious, I did not get that vibe here. You have to ask to see the inside because the new ones are sealed in plastic for protection. Moleskine offers ways to make your print designs come digital with adobe. You can play with the demo screen in the back. So cool. Located between SEE and the Pied Piper Bar & Grill, this Moleskine store is exciting for Moleskine fans! There is an extensive stock of Moleskine products, including the full range of notebooks (including many of the limited edition ones), pens, notecards, and bags. One of the best features of going to a brick and mortar location is the ability to sample each of the products--throughout the store, there are sample products to try, such as a station in the center of the store with the various pens. The staff was very friendly and willing to explain the different items. This location has only been open for about two weeks, and expected to stock even more merchandise in the coming weeks. I would highly recommend that any Moleskine fan or stationary lover pay a visit! read more

Beautiful store on Market Street. I love Moleskine pocket calendars and notebooks to keep track of my stuff: birthdays, lists, schedules, you name it. Be sure to have plenty of time to peruse the selection and for the lack of customer service. It took over 10 minutes to ring up my calendar to pay. The guy working there didn't know how to use the register and the woman who I assume was supposed to be helping him, was sitting on the staircase. When he asked her to help him, she sighed heavily and finally got up. Did I not say that I need to check out of my hotel in 10 minutes?!!? Some of the staff here have been very friendly and helpful, however I have also found a couple of them very mean and cold. If you are for some reason very obsessed with these notebooks, I'm sure you'll be very happy browsing here, but based on my experiences I would rather never come back and will buy online next year. To cut a long story short, I came looking to pick up in-person a specific notebook in a specific size. They didn't have it in stock, so the people there said they'd call me when it came in. I called the store later and folks said they had that size in stock, and when I came in they didn't. It wasn't a huge deal, except that they responded by denying that my experience happened, saying it must have been the fault of the other folks who work on a different day, and not providing an alternate solution forward. I also felt very watched and unwelcomed by certain employees, and at one point I was trying to calmly explain the process of me working with the store, and more employees came over and became defensive, which was unexpected and made me feel ganged up on. It seemed like they needed emotional support themselves and weren't working in a friendly environment. Additionally, the first employee I exchanged conversation with said that that product was 50% off, and the second time another employee confirmed this, however the third and final time I came in and finally settled for a different product, the manager insisted they never had a sale on those products and was extremely cold. To make matters worse, the distribution lines for the online sales and in-store are completely different, so absolutely nobody knew if it would come in stock in store or online - the people in the store thought it might but couldn't check, and the contact people from the website didn't know and suggested that I sign up for their enewsletter. I ended up not getting the product I wanted, waiting a very long time for it, and in the end breaking down and paying full price when I could have got it 50% off online.
