Stopped into Molly's Coffee Co this morning for some caffeinated goodies. This joint comes highly recommend by my father in law. There might be a little bias options here since this joint is owned by his really good friend's granddaughter. But the fact it's local, I'm going to support it. Walking up, the espresso machine and register was set up outside. There's some remodeling going on so I didn't get the opportunity to see what the venue looks like inside. But outside is quite cute. I love the flowers surrounding the outside patio. A handful of sweet baristas were working. They all greeted us! I checked out the summer menu to see what kind of cool drinks they had. I got a vanilla oat milk matcha latte. My husband got a summer drink of the menu. It was a sparkling strawberry lemonade. My husband's lemonade was so good! I appreciate that real strawberry puree was used. It was sweet, tangy and bubbly! It was quite refreshing for a sweet drink. My matcha was balanced! There was a good amount of matcha to oat milk. I didn't quite taste the vanilla as much as I would have liked to. I did add some sugar to it when we stopped at the Waffle House. It tasted much better once the sugar was added. I'm already going to plan on coming back when we visit Athens again next year. I look forward to seeing the new remodel. This little coffee shop is so adorable! They have a variety of seating options - so whether you're studying or chatting with friends, you have options. There is even plenty of outdoor seating. The service was amazing - very friendly staff and good recommendations. I had an oat milk latte and my friend had an Americano. All delicious! They had lots of baked goods. We also ordered homemade muffins and they warned them for us! So good! They even had an LFL out front stocked full of books. I highly recommend this little spot! read more

AMAZING!!! Lots of parking and bathrooms inside. It's a bit off the beaten path of downtown but it makes for a very peaceful ambiance. The coffee is phenomenal. I judge a coffee shop by its drip coffee and Molly's is exceptional! I think the roast on today was "Aldo's" I grew up on a coffee farm in El Salvador so I am very picky about coffee. This is very well roasted and fresh. A lot of places will give you stale or old roasted coffee you can tell the quality in this one. The owner must be a big coffee person because this whole set up is done with a true cafe intention. They have some little events so there's a decent amount of room and plenty of outdoor seating. This place is busy, but the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly! Pastries look incredible! They even have a gluten free option (pumpkin chocolate chip!!). Also amazing, but as a true coffee shop (and these are hard to find) Molly's coffee is the star of the show. Lots of cute drink options for non coffee folks but this is everything I want from a local coffee shop. If I could rate higher that 5 stars I would. I bought two roasts (my mom drinks decaf but we are a coffee loving family), and I wish I could have sat there and had their americanos too I'm sure the espresso is perfectly roasted and properly dialed in every morning. I love a shop where everyone knows and loves coffee, and all the drinks really. The staff is incredibly helpful I heard them patiently help several guests who weren't sure what to order. Incredible!! Kinda smaller portions of coffee in their glassware. A bit chalky and lacking of flavoring for my caramel latte. Their coffee blend is a nutty flavor which some people prefer. My boyfriend and I came to Molly's Coffee to get some work done and positively loved it! First things first, our barista (regretfully, I forgot her name) was incredibly kind. My boyfriend doesn't know the first thing about coffee, and she happily guided him through the menu and recommended some of her favorites. We eventually opted for the almond coconut mocha, which was delicious. The latte art was impeccable as well. The design of the shop makes good use of minimalism and greenery to pull together a really quaint aesthetic. They have a bunch of seating, and the music is at a nice volume that's conducive towards studying and casual chit-chatting. Safe to say we both got some really good work done! The barista's were such sweethearts and were super knowledgeable about coffee. The ambience of the place was a 10/10, super calm and chill. The perfect place to get some work done or hangout with friends and get a dose of sunshine. I ordered the almond coconut latte and it was on the sweeter side. I wasn't able to taste any of the coconut but there was a sweet almond flavor throughout the latte. I also tried the matcha latte and it was pretty good, just a little chalky. Molly's is my favorite coffee house in town. The staff, and Molly herself, are always friendly and even help me remember how I want my drink made. The atmosphere is open and bright with a menagerie of plants. Throughout the year Molly's offers seasonal flavors. Right now it's fall and so it's Pumpkin Spice, which is delightfully spiced instead of the typical overpowering sweetness. And I found out after completing her about it that it's made in house with real pumpkin. read more

Molly is super sweet and the lattes are fabulous, first of all. I will say, as a reviewer pointed out, they have a more peculiar setup for ordering that you simply have to adjust to: [As of 03/01/21] DRIVE-THRU ONLY UNLESS YOU HAVE A RESERVATION FOR SEATING, not even walk-up ordering is allowed. That being said, me and my comrade did walk up as it was our first time and was informed of this, so we had to go back to our car and do drive-thru, and Molly was very nice about this. I did check beforehand to see if I could make a reservation same day, not so. Keep this in mind, however a 2-star rating is unfair to this business due to this, as this is some of the best COVID safety measures I've seen implemented. There's also plenty of room outside to sit in the grass if it's a nice day and enjoy your coffee. It's really not a big deal if you just reserve some time the day before if you really want to sit inside; we're all grownups here. Now that I've got that out of the way, onto the service and drinks themselves. Molly is a great presence and I believe really strives to bring you a great, sustainable cup of coffee. They use compostable cups and lids made from corn, and they use 1000 Faces coffee for all their beans according to the website (&I've heard Molly used to work there, don't know how accurate this is). I got a spicy mocha iced latte with oatmilk, and it's easily one of my favorite lattes I've had, not too sweet or milky, just *chef's kiss*. My comrade got a plain iced latte with oatmilk because we like to try the espresso unadulterated by syrups. Great espresso flavor that shone through beautifully. After we placed our order, Molly again got our payment at the drive-thru, asked what we were getting into that day, and gave us free stickers (always a plus). She's all-around a lovely person from what I gathered in our short time interacting. The other couple of employees I encountered were also friendly and our drinks were made in a good timeframe, too. I didn't get a good look inside but it seems clean and nicely decorated, so I'll definitely be coming back to make a reservation to take it all in. They have oatmilk and almond milk options, and their mocha sauce is vegan as well, but not their white mocha sauce. Molly's was suggested to me from an employee at another wonderful local coffee shop; great praise and enthusiasm on their part, as well. I was craving the spicy mocha again the very next day and made another visit. You rock, Molly, and I hope to see you and your business flourish and stick around. Like this place a lot. My only complaint is the sound of the metal chair legs as they are moved across the concrete floor. It's like nails on a chalkboard and it's constant. A few dollars spent on felt or rubber pads for the chair legs would fix this with a half-day's work. I know this is a very niche complaint but, man, is that screech annoying! read more

Cute, local coffee shop at the Falls. They use 1000 Faces coffee beans which is not my favorite but I was willing to try their flavors. I got the 12 oz cold brew with honey lavender syrup and almond milk for $3.75. The cold brew was watered down and the lavender made it taste soapy but I got used to it. My friend got the almond coconut iced mocha and she liked it. We both would try something else if we went back but it was solid. I liked that they had a drive through as I believe the inside is closed for indoor dining unless you make a reservation. read more

I was a first time customer who went on a weekday morning with not a single customer inside and only 1 car in the drive-thru & was told I wasn't allowed to sit inside with a coffee due to a lack of reservation. They said it was because their mornings are dedicated to the "busy" drive-thru which had 1 car in it. Their reservation times are also only in the afternoon with the first time being at 11:30. For a place that only serves coffee this doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I also find it shocking that they are turning away business at a time when many small businesses are struggling to stay open or having to close their doors.
