    The restaurant ambience

Great local brunch joint. They make my wife's favorite chai lattes in Greater Athens, and she's tried everywhere. The food is fresh and delicious (but not cheap). A lot of the items are baked daily. And the staff is ALWAYS friendly.

Avocado toast (minus the cheese) and fresh fruit

Absolutely a must visit café. The portions are huge. We were expecting to get a small biscuit and it was about the size of three biscuits. I got the avocado toast with a side of fresh fruit for $9 and let me tell you a lot of avocado toast. I didn't get a picture of everything, but all four of us enjoyed our breakfast. If we lived in this area, we would visit this place weekly. The staff was extremely friendly and kind!

This is half of the small charred disappointment.

So disappointed. 25 minutes wait for a take out of two sandwiches. I asked for french dip. Asked to get the rarest today beef they had. It had been seared so hard it was almost charred well done. I asked for the onion jam. It had no onion jam at all. My partner ordered the club. It was huge and he loved it. But I came here due to being told about this french dip sandwich. It was awful. I contacted them and they apologized and refunded the price of my sandwich. They said that is not the type of service they try to offer.

    Veggie sandwich

Joe and Sam's is a super cute neighborhood coffee shop that also serves food. They have quite a bit of seating. The veggie sandwich was pretty good but the cucumber salad was delicious. The scones are big but could be a bit more flavorful.

I happened to be in the area looking for a place to eat and this popped up. Complete fail. Watery grits...I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a biscuit but this was a no for me good if you aren't used to real cooking I guess

Hands down some of the best grits in town! I always order them separate with a side of sausage and it makes the perfect small bowl!

They encouraged us to take pictures, accommodated a dessert for my friend, and just been amazing people overall. The food did take a bit to come out, but the food did not disappoint. I ordered the BBQ pork, and the fries were a bit soggy but that's how I like mine (hot take). Also, the cole slaw was a bit vinegary, which is also how I like it. The price isn't too bad, but compared to the other location in Athens, it is a tad more pricey, but still not bad. Overall, 9/10!!

He was prompt with all of our needs and checked in on us throughout. The food was yum. My kids had a burger. I had the chicken sandwich (so good). We tried both desserts. I was skeptical about banana pudding as I have never been a fan of the wafer version. Since it was my birthday weekend my family insisted we order the chocolate and banana. Both were impressive, I recommend scooping a bit of each on one spoon . Although each are delightful on their own. The lavender margarita gets two thumbs up! Decor was pleasant. The bathrooms are the most fun I have ever been in! Bravo WT.

When we arrived to our room the first thing I noticed was the view! We were on the ground level, so we had a nice sitting area just outside the room. Although it was too cold to sit outside, the view from inside was just as nice. Once I started looking around at the room I noticed how outdated and in need of deep cleaning it was. The carpet was stained, our bedding was stained, the wallpaper was peeling off, dirt and grime had gathered in the corners, and there was toothpaste or cleaning spray all over the bathroom mirror and sink. My side of the bed was caving in, so when I laid on my left side I rolled a bit, which makes me think maybe the mattresses need to be replaced. I will say, the pillows were comfy! That evening we ate at the restaurant where we ordered off the menu. I ordered The Falls Burger, which is your basic cheeseburger with the usual toppings - lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, and your choice of cheese. The burger tasted like it was previously frozen, but the fries were delicious! Our waitress, McKenzie, was incredible! She was attentive and friendly and deserves recognition! We ended up back at the lodge restaurant the following evening where they were serving a buffet dinner only, no option to order off the menu. McKenzie was great once again, but unfortunately, the food was not. The buffet consisted of soup, salad, mac-n-cheese, rolls, yellow rice, black eyed peas, BBQ chicken, catfish, carrot cake, pumpkin pie, and apple pie. All of the items I ate were cold and just mediocre. You can imagine my surprise when I saw the $46 bill - $27.99 for an adult and $15.99 for a child. Absurd for the lack of options and for the cold food. (Keep in mind that the closest towns with good dining options are at least 30 mins away.) During nice weather the falls are gorgeous to hike up to and the park is fun to explore, but take note if you have children with you and the weather isn't great, there's not much for them to do. The park itself is beautiful and well worth a trip! And I truly believe the lodge could be brought back to life with a few changes.

They got a table ready for a party of 6 pretty quickly which was great! They have two dining areas inside and outside seating available. I ordered the peach french toast with potatoes, another person ordered the cinnamon roll to start and the a biscuit with gravy. My husband ordered the pulled pork bowl on grits and a side of fried chicken . The kids had french toast with fruit. My potatoes I can tell were from a bag and not fresh cut potatoes. They were tiny and probably what you can purchase at the grocery store, so they were crunch and hard to eat. The french toast didn't have the best taste, and the peaches seemed canned. Presentation was nice but I wouldn't order that again. My husband did not enjoy his pulled pork bowl either, he said it lacked a bit of flavor. The cinnamon roll was a little hard like it had been sitting for a bit. Now for the good, the fried chicken was some of the best chicken I had tasted so whatever is being done there keep it up! The biscuits with the jam available on the table were amazing! The kids enjoyed their kids meal as well. If in Athens again we would definitely get the chicken and biscuit but skip the other items we previously ordered.
