The was amazing working with Jason and his crew at building buddies. Before the Reno started, I had…read moreno idea how to transform the space but Jason had great ideas and was great collaborating with him on them. They worked on removing old drop ceiling and out dated wall paneling with brand new plasterboard throughout the house. They were efficient with great attention to detail! I would work with Jason and the crew over and over again and am looking forward to doing so on different projects in the future. The value and results are well worth it! Mike

Jason and his team renovated the whole basement by installing drywall, replacing the drop ceiling with a conventional ceiling and new lighting, and covering the entire floor with functional but attractive laminate. They went above and beyond to make sure we were involved in the design and satisfied with the results. In addition, they replaced our kitchen floor, which had some water damage, with beautiful ceramic tile to complement the existing quartz counters. This is the second major project Jason has done for us. He previously remodeled a bathroom for us, replacing all the fixtures and flooring, as well as installing a pocket door. We are very happy with all the work that was done and would highly recommend Building Buddies.

Fair pricing, owner is creative and not wasteful with your money…read more Our bathroom toilet was installed poorly and with no seal, it leaked into our kitchen. The kitchen looks nice with how they expanded our work space but the cabinets they installed are junk particle board n with water prone areas, they have blistered, cracked, faded and drawers fell apart. Getting them to come back or help fix the cabinets has been unsuccessful after several calls and texts!

This post is for anyone that is looking for a contractor that they want to trust!…read more I think I figured it out. I want to tell you about our journey. So, just finishing up two bathrooms: our master bathroom and a second-floor hall bathroom, that share a wall. The hall bathroom is approximately 8x10 and the master bath is 10x10, 100-year-old Mt. Lebanon home. The Hall bath is original mud set. So, started the process two years ago and my wife and I struggled to find a contractor. Our primary goal was "peace of mind." We wanted to find someone that had vision, did quality work, and would give us options that would fit within a reasonable budget. And, honesty, after a while, all the contractors start to sound the same...."tell us what you want." And the prices were sometimes hard to fathom and while our initial goal was $60K for both bathrooms, we actually had bids in the $90-100K range. Crazy. After almost losing hope, I was introduced to Jeff through a friend that I could consider "exceptionally meticulous," lol, or picky! And the fact that this friend had nothing but positive things to say about Jeff meant a lot. Look at the pictures, they speak for themselves. What you need to know is that Jeff is onsite and a hands-on contractor. He also has a really great team. He is SUPER meticulous and thinks through obstacles as they arise. When you are opening 100-year-old walls, you sometimes come across surprises and obstacles. I was so impressed by Jeff's vision and how he would thing through these challenges. Further, he has a very strong "design" sense, as the project moved forward, he would bring up ideas to improve the beginning vision and they were always great. As an example, our walk-in closet shared a wall with our master bathroom and now we have a new second floor laundry room/walk in closet. It has changed our life! Jeff's estimate did not change aside from add-ons that made sense as the project progressed. His labor costs were mid-point to our bids and while we went over budget, it was our choice because of the materials we chose to use. And why am I posting all this, you might ask? I've been in sales my entire career, and it's my fundamental belief that when you identify true, trusted professionals, you help them. The last thing I will say about Jeff is that you can trust him. He cares about his reputation and wants to see his customers thrilled. He is responsible and will diligently work on your project until it is done. He gave us our "peace of mind." Please feel free to contact me at 412-849-5156 to discuss.

I am happy to hear your are working on your future customer experience however, that does nothing…read morefor me. I still have damaged furniture and a horrible rug that your company did not stand by. A settlement was fir the damage, it was not to have a horrible carpet installed. How can you move on to the future when you have not corrected your past? Again, I would never recommend your company.

They did all my carpets upstairs, I realize there will be some paint scrapes to the baseboards…read more.. what I got was every single inch of baseboard scraped/cut. They told me "that's normal". And no they won't fix it. Secondly, when they installed the hard wood behind the fridge, they didn't even bother to go all the way to the back of the wall. They also crushed my copper water line behind the fridge when they put it back. So I didn't have ice for a while and when I pulled the fridge out that's when I noticed the gap. So I called and asked if they would fix it. I have some wood left. (Also, There were 2 full unopened boxes of wood floor left which the workers took with them instead of giving them to me since I paid for them) I haven't heard back from them. That was a month ago. No call back like they promised. Whenever you try to reach Mike, he doesn't answer his voicemails. Basically if he took your money, then he's done. Zero customer service. I'm so beyond disappointed. I will never go to them or refer them.

We hired a contractor (licensed with the PA attorney general's office and insured) He messed up the grout in the tub/ shower surround. He admitted that he added water after it was mixed so it never cured properly. Enters The Grout Medic. Beth Macabobby, the owner came out fairly quickly (within two weeks) to give me a quote. It was 849 to remove all of the grout and redo it. She told me that there is always a chance of small chips to the edges of the tiles with removal. I wasn't happy to hear this, this was brand new tile, but what else could I do. I just asked the guys to be as careful as they could be. They took 2 months to get me on the schedule. When the techs arrived, they worked for 2 days removing the grout. They were courteous and as clean as you can be with grout dust everywhere. After the 2 day, they still weren't done even though they said the job would be complete. In fact, the grout was only about 70% removed. The techs told me that they weren't sure when they would be back and that I had to talk to the office. The office called after 3 days and said that they could come back in a month. A month??? Seriously? I waited two months to get you guys out here!!! I had family coming to town that weekend so I asked that they move the schedule around to finish my job within the week and they did. Then, My grandfather had a fall and I was called out of town. My husband was home for the scheduled days to complete the work. The guys came as promised and completed the job. There were about a dozen chips on my new tile, but I knew that was possible. My complaint was about a tile that was completely fractured. They told my husband that they had to collect payment before leaving and that it would be an extra 3% if he used a credit card so he wrote them a check that was cashed the very next day. I contacted the owner via email and called the office several times. I sent pictures of the damage and this is the response that I got after 2 weeks: I'm sorry thought we responded to your email. In regards to the chipping/scratching of tile during regrout we state in several places the we assume no liability. As for the one that you said is fractured that could actually be scratched. Taking grout out is a tedious job as you can tell by the amount of time it took us and the chipping can happen. Regards, Beth Macabobby The Grout Medic 11333 South Ave. North Lima, OH 44452 thegroutmedic.macabobby@aol.com 724.651.1001 330.707.1597 Yes, chipping can happen, but what about the fracture??? I called the office again and was told that they would sent someone out next week. Then, today, I got another call saying that they thought that I was a different customer and that no one would be coming next week. They would sent someone out to look at it, but they weren't sure when. Awesome I know this game. How are these people so busy??? I'm posting the pictures that I sent to them. You decide if it is a fracture or a scratch. What a scam. What a nightmare! I have contacted their corporate office. I'll update my post if and when I hear back. I won't hold my breath. 6/18/16 update: 2 calls in to the corporate office. One week has passed with no response. The owner of this branch, Beth Macabobby, sent me an email saying that they would send a tech out to take a look, but she wasn't sure when. She said that the office would call to schedule with me which hasn't happened.
