Thank goodness we've found Taylor! I was able to meet with her twice prior to delivery and Taylor helped us navigate insurance successfully from that point, ongoing. Overall, I'd describe her as knowledgeable, responsive and well-connected . . . and bonus: easy and fun to work with, . . . even when I am stressed out she brings a calming and wise energy to our sessions. In particular, I came to her worried about milk supply given my medical history; Taylor used our prenatal visits to ensure my spouse and I were 100% prepared, including connecting us with the awesome and practice-affiliated physician, Dr. Meina Hall. Thankfully, we haven't experienced those supply issues so far, but Taylor and Dr. Hall have been available to support us as other issues and questions arise. About a week ago, we also discovered Taylor is acquainted with a good friend that lives in the area. Just another sign that we are in incredibly great hands!

I delivered my first son without any medication-- also, without any idea what I was getting myself into and without the proper support and encouragement that was needed. Praise the Lord he arrived safely and we were both just fine! But it left me terrified of giving birth again. This time was sooooo different though. We weren't just fine. I felt confident and in control of my body. I felt supported 100%. Having Happi's encouragement (and support in making sure my birth plan was executed as much as possible), I was able to achieve the birth that I desired. When things got tough I didn't immediately go into panic mode as I had the during my first birth, the whole process didn't turn into chaos as I had experience the first time around. She helped me maintain through it all. She provided a presence that was calming and encouraging for both my husband and myself. My husband had a much better idea of the role he needed to fill this time around and that made all the difference for me, and left him with wonderful and positive memory of this birth. We were both just so delighted when all was said and done. I always thought of a doula a luxury I couldn't afford at this point in my life. But I am SO glad we opted to reach out to Happi. Now my husband and I both agree having a doula is a NECESSITY. Darci was a big asset to my husband and I in the postpartum weeks. It is a strange feeling jumping…read moreinto parenthood with a newborn and even stranger agreeing to let a total stranger in your house to care for your newborn while you sleep. However, Darci quickly gained my trust and it was such a relief to know a night was coming up in our week where I may actually be able to just worry about my own needs for a few hours and have someone else caring for my child. She wore a mask around our baby which was important to me (she offered this independently). She always showed up on time. I appreciated that she could wash bottle/pump parts while baby slept and she did some baby laundry too. Working with an individual over a large doula business meant we were able to customize the number of shifts we wanted and the number of hours of each shift. Most companies will require 9 or 10 hours at a time, but Darci helped us customize a schedule of 7 hour shifts which worked better for our needs and budget. She will show you baby exercises or tricks to help with digestion and gas. She will also take notes for you on when baby eats/sleeps/gets changed etc if you want to track that in any of the baby apps or just see what the night looked like. Overall- we recommend Darci for your Northshore doula needs if you are looking for a 1-2/week option that is more customizable!

She taught me how to properly and safely bathe our son, infant massage to help him with digestion and different burping positions as well, which have been very helpful as a first time mom. I was nervous to start pumping and what that would look like going backt to work since I am a hairstylist and unable to pump while doing my job. Darci went above and beyond and was not only there for my first pumping session but she then made a schedule for me based off my work schedule around all the clients I already had booked upon my return to work. She is both gentle and tough when she has to - gave me the feeling of strength and security during the whole long night. She didn't leave my bedside except to get us beverages, didn't sleep at all for more than 24 hours straight and was alert and actively assisting us all the time. We were changing positions often, used fragrant oils for relaxation, she was massaging me and constantly checking if I or my husband needed anything.
