This place is 100/10! Many options for furniture at reasonable prices. I bought a dresser (from 1940!) and saved a couple hundred dollars by buying here versus other antique furniture places in the area and better quality. They offer delivery services that are also cheaper than the other stores. Above all, I appreciate the customer service and pop going extra mile to make sure I find what I was looking for. Popped into Mom N Pop's Antiques for the first time today. When I approached there were several interesting pieces adorning the entrance and a few neighborhood locals describing various pieces they were searching for as the owner made note and promised to keep an eye out. The store itself is a typical size for this area but is incredibly full with a wide array of furniture and various other antiques. Prices are extremely reasonable and the owner is helpful without hovering. There were men carrying in new furniture and finds cheerfully chatting with the owner- would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for furniture for a new place, that one unique piece that will tie the room together, or someone who is just looking to browse an interesting shop before or after a drink on Georgia Ave. Keep an eye on the hours, they're a bit unusual, but worth working around! read more

From the outside of this store on the corner of Georgia Avenue, the stained glass of Mom-N-Pop antiques really seems intriguing. I was greeted by the friendly and chatty owner Bill Sims and his co-owner Aubry. They are a very interesting pair to chat it up with, and seem to have a decent knowledge of the city. Their shop seems like someone's dusty old basement and things are placed in there very haphazardly as if they were left to go back later to work with, and then forgotten. Therefore, depending on your mood, you may enjoy browsing through this space that is busting out of its seams with lots of random stuff to find. Go for the conversation, and let your eyes wander around the space. You may actually find something you want to take home with you! read more

I see this place all the time but didn't think to check it out until a friend pointed it out to me. We came in last week and I immediately saw lots of great MCM pieces. One in particular caught my eye - a Lane cedar chest in great condition. It just had a small nick on the front and needed some new hardware. Otherwise, really good for its age. I had been looking for a storage bench that wasn't ugly and this is perfect. Seats two on a very sturdy frame and it has a ton of space. My friend said the cedar was perfect for storing sweaters but I had board games in mind. :P The chest came out to $120 - which is a really reasonable price, much better than most other antique shops who are jacking up prices around MCM furniture. The staff were extremely friendly and helped us move the chest to the car as well. I'll definitely be back to see what new fun things they have. read more

I LOVE Mom n Pop. Bill, the owner, is the most lovely guy. He loves to chat, but he also is extremely helpful. I can tell him my aesthetic and he'll spend the time to figure out what I like. After a few tries, he usually gets it right. Now that I come in often enough, he knows me, and always has something sweet to ask about my dog or my life. The great experience in the store is matched by great prices. I bought a big dresser, mirror, and bookshelf there (and they delivered them) for about $150. And, now that they know me, they always give me discounts. I'm about to go in and buy a fabulous 1950s couch for $185, and I know that I won't have to worry about how to get it into my living room myself! Take that, Craigslist! Seriously, this is one of the businesses that makes Petworth/Park View great, and everyone should stop by. read more

I visited Mom N Pop's because I was on the hunt for a few things to make my apartment cozy and organized and I had heard about Bill and his great store. This is my kind of place to go treasure hunting - there are so many interesting things to catch your eye, but it's not so cluttered that you can't get close to the things you want to see. I found a great midcentury chest of drawers in good condition, just a few blemishes, but overall pretty sharp. Even with the cost of delivery ($20!), it was cheaper than a lot of similar sized new items I've seen online - and it's real wood. I also found two great vintage photos, including a copy of a Scurlock. Bill himself is as nice as can be and followed up with me the next day to deliver my dresser as planned. Will definitely be back ... especially because there was a footstool I really wanted to buy so I hope it's still there. read more

This place is a little gold mine for knick knacks and decor. I did manage to find some really great lamps and vintage chairs. The lamps were in working condition and free of major wear. The chairs needed more work but I would've put in the effort and bought one if I had the space for it. Prices are reasonable and the owner is a real upstanding guy. Don't know if you can haggle here but I didn't really feel the need to on most things. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place as it's a lot cheaper than the majority of other competing antique stores in the city. It's got a lot of character and I'll be sure to return some day. read more

I read a previous review about how Bill will try his best to help you find what youre looking for and it convinced me to come pay the shop a visit. I was looking for a small picture frame and he helped me find one immediately. I looked around for some other knick knacks and got a nice decent price for my loot! I live a couple blocks away from the shop, and can't say enough about the place. The owner is just the coolest, laid back guy I could imagine in the antique business, and the shop just ads volumes of charm to the neighborhood. It's a funky place that you just want to spend hours in. Every time you walk thru it you see something different. The other day Bill helped me find a table for my living room to house my stereo equipment. He not only removed a bunch of stuff so I could get a better look, but lent me a saw to adjust a panel so my stereo would fit better. This is my favorite business in DC! read more

This is a very cute antique shop with a very friendly owner. It is jam packed of items, including some really cool and beautiful old pieces. There's also stuff that looked very run-of-the-mill to me, but then I know nothing about antiques. Keep in mind that this is an antique store and not a used furniture place though; prices were definitely steeper than I anticipated, with the furniture pieces I looked at starting at ~$120 and running up to 7-800. They do offer delivery, which is super helpful. They also carry a variety of other things, like records, knick-knacks, lamps, art, etc. and apparently get new stuff in every week. I think this would be a great shop for the right customer, it just wasn't me. read more

Wow, just wow! This store is AMAZING! Some really great pieces, with character and craftsmanship. Stop looking for furniture at Ikea and Target that will only last 2 years. For a little more $ (and I mean a little), you can get some cool conversational pieces for your home. They don't make furniture like they used to, I just bought a solid wood 1950's maple dresser from Mom N Pop Antiques that will last me another 50 years. The owner, Bill, is great and values your business. I only wish I came upon this store years ago, and I look forward to many more trips there. Perfect mid-century dresser/mirror combo in perfect condition, $115. The kind of place to stop in every weekend until you find something. read more

What a beautiful little spot. We wandered in just before closing this evening, welcomed by Bill, the owner, and a gentleman playing the piano near the door. The soft, familiar songs were such a treat as we perused the space. There are so many gems in that store and we were pleased to come across a beautiful little chair. Bill was so kind and helpful.
