I had been searching on numerous sites for a TV/media console deep enough for audio equipment and wiring. So many media consoles are poorly designed for that purpose! I found Standout Designs Haven Media Console listed on Kaiyo as Gently Used and priced at a fraction of the original retail price. The white-glove delivery to Rockville, MD, was great! It took two guys, Rick and Box, a half-hour to discuss the delivery, move the console to the media room, unwrap the blanket and shrink-wrap protection, insert the shelves, and ensure my satisfaction. Outstanding delivery today by my Kaiyo movers, Christian B. and Micheal. Christian and Micheal were prompt, professional, respectful and caring, and a pleasure to work with. I live in an historical building with lots of long narrow hallways with stairs and common areas, and they were very careful with my bookcase on the long journey to my farthest away apartment on the top floor. Fantastic company that enables buying and selling of high-quality used furniture (often at over 50-60% off). Had a seamless experience buying, selecting delivery date, and actual delivery. Howard and Steve delivered my restoration hardware coffee table and end tables with care and were helpful with contacting service due to a couple minor issues we found with the furniture (which customer service gave me a partial refund for). If you're buying used furniture, I strongly recommend **avoiding** Kaiyo. I recently purchased a high-end office chair from them and discovered in the first days of owning it that it had multiple broken parts - the back was only half-attached to the seat, the lumbar support was broken in two places, and there was sticky brown residue on the left side of the chair. I contacted support, but they refused to give my anything more than a 25% discount. Ultimately, I ended up paying over $600 for a very broken chair. It's clear that Kaiyo completely failed to inspect the chair in spite of listing it on their website as "gently used." Avoid this business and its negligent and/or fraudulent practices. read more

Well...that was a great experience. Moving soon, but happen to currently live in Bethesda, MD; as such, I got my stuff via white glove delivery. Received a sectional, a chair w/ottoman, and a chair + a half for well below what they would've cost. They texted and emailed me 2 days before the appointment to confirm, and then they provided a 4-hour delivery window. For me, the delivery guys came within the first hour of that delivery window and brought in everything very easily. They had me inspect, took photos to confirm, and were on their way; they were very courteous and friendly, even apologetic if they felt like they dropped something or that kind of thing. I want to name them but I don't want to butcher their names- it's better this way for us all. I highly recommend Kaiyo and the white glove delivery service if you live in one of the supported areas. read more

I found and ordered a beautiful vintage loveseat that fit perfectly into our Victorian rowhouse. We scheduled the pickup date at our convenience, and consigned the sectional to KAIYO. Rick and Dre, based at the Hyattsville MD location, were so professional, polite, and funny. They were in and out with both couches in about 30 minutes and were careful. WAY BETTER THAN MOVERS! I gave an expensive, in great condition and very clean office organizer/cabinet to Kaiyo on consignment. They were slow to list it, and when they did list it, they only listed the dimensions - no explanation of of file drawers, room for printer, adjustable shelves for up to 8 electronics (computers, tablets, phones, E Readers, etc) and wire management system for all that. Basically any information that would interest someone in buying it! I contacted them about this and was told "no we do not add a description" and "we show pictures." The problem was you really could not tell any of the benefits from the photos (not even that there were file drawers). When I said that I thought the cabinet would not sell unless they outlined some of the attributes, their response was a flat "thanks for your feedback." (AKA "we don't care). For a company that is trying to keep furniture out of landfills, it really does not feel like they have their heart in it! And the end result is that the person offering up their furniture will not get any payment either. read more

Today Rynell and Antonio from the Kaiyo Md. warehouse, delivered my big comfy couch! Didn't seem like it was gonna fit with my old apartment buildings narrow doorways. And I ve seen my share of neighbors not get sofas in. Well, it was almost a bust, I was coming to terms that I wouldn't have my red sofa! We had a bed and dining chairs delivered from Kaiyo today. The movers (Ty and Marcellus) were on time and extremely professional. All of the parts were wrapped in fabric protectors, which I appreciated since I purchased from Kaiyo because of the prices and environmentally friendly mission. They delivered, unwrapped, and set up all the pieces, and did a great job. They allow you to test our the furniture before we accept the order, and even offered to take the furniture apart with we weren't happy with it. The bed would've taken me hours to build, and they did it quickly and it was assembled perfectly. One last point was that I really appreciated the flexibility. My original order also included a dining table, but I ended up finding another table I liked. I was able to call Kaiyo and cancel just the table for a full refund, and the rest of our order was delivered 5 days later. Highly recommend and will definitely be using it again. read more

I really wanted to like this company but my delivery and items bought not in a described condition for the most part was a disaster and with no real empathy from Kaiyo customer service. Disaster why? The furniture was damaged with dings in the corners not pictured on a console, a chip visible, unsteady chest, and to make matter worst after one failed attempt by the company to deliver I was granted one man delivery for a three flight flat!!! Talking about delivery, my order was confirmed and arrived at my building on 8/30 which I anxiously prepared prior to the delivery appointment by making room for this furniture which actually became cancelled on site by the third party delivery persons. Why? Because they didn't have the tools for white glove delivery! But I didn't know this until a day later because the company was tight lipped about what was going on. Mum was the word. Left me in total limbo. Then I was offered by Megan to cancel if I want( we don't care basically!!). Well, I personally think it's just inexperience on her part!!! Secondly, I had to wait an additional three days for the company to source out another delivery service;mind you I had no bed which was one of the items in the delivery! Finally, the furniture arrives and rescheduled days later with one nice delivery person who took three hours to deliver three pieces!!! Can you imagine one guy carrying up three flights chest( that rocks btw) by himself. It was astonishing. He did too! He was actually the best part about the buying process! In normal circumstances I would of rejected two of the items but wouldn't want the poor guy to have to bring down the pieces down the steps again( he probably would of died literally!!). Instead, I was offered colored magic market which I filled in the chip on the wood(that wasn't pictured when buying) and other imperfections in the other piece which was a beautiful console but with dings in it. Oy Vey!! I did reject the dirty discolored area rug they had the audacity to sell me and I am even receiving a full refund..Yay!!! (of course it was told to me by Megan she would have to verify with the dispatch team it was in the poor condition and it was and I am getting a refund!!! Anyways, nuff said about this disappointing company ... but I will say any decent company would of refunded my delivery after such a fiasco!! Buyer beware! I am unhappy with my purchase. I bought a supposedly wood sideboard for over $800 which was stated to be in very good condition. When I got it, part of the edges were sheared off and there were multiple holes in the back. This was actually in poor condition. I was taken off guard and ended up accepting a 150 dollar refund to keep it. Once the guys left, I started to strip it to as my plan to was do a raw wood look, only to find out the entire piece is particle board with veneers. Resigned to paining it, I took out the drawers to prep them only to find them falling apart and the rails are broken. This piece is literally junk. That I paid a fortune for and will likely have to pay 100 to have a junk hauler come get. I will say they do give you an out but I had no idea the piece was not solid wood and that so many parts were broken. Never again. read more

I bought a dresser from Kaiyo, and it was delivered today. The furniture is everything promised from the picture and the description. But, best of all, the two delivery guys, Efren and Yaw were amazing. They were super careful bringing it inside and unpacking it. They even asked me for furniture pads, so as not to scratch the floor. To top it off, they spent a long time getting each drawer to open perfectly. I had a leather sectional delivered last weekend from Kaiyo. Everything was flawless, the communciation and the delivery was excellent. My one star is due to the quality control. The sectional was delivered with only two on the 6 cushions, even the delivery guys were surprised. I recieved a call from customer service offering me a discount. A sectional with missing cushions is unusable. I was at least expecting customer service to attempt to find the cushions, but no attempt was even offered. It took me quite some time to clear the area for my intended sectional only have to move everything back, a complete waste of my time. Do not us this company to sell your items!!! I thought I was going to get a far offer. They don't give you any kind of estimate before hand. I really wish I could just have my furniture back! The offers are so low it's insulting! I called customer service to confirm my appointment and asked them some questions about how offers work and how much but they could not give me an answer and I went ahead with the pickup as planned, which I regret. I just really wanted to give this company a chance because I like the idea of it. But I really feel like I just got my items stolen from my house and I held the door for the robber and even thanked them. I got an enormous dresser that would normally cost 2k for about $400 in near perfect condition. They also delivered it right to my house and the two movers, Cristian and Devon, got it up a very tricky of stairs very smoothly and even helped me put furniture pads on the legs before placing it. If you like quality furniture, but can't afford some of the high prices, this is a wonderful resource for you. I have gotten real bargains on three pieces of "gently used" furniture from Kaiyo. The delivery people are always courteous and careful. You can also sell your furniture through Kaiyo. Today I sent my beloved Calligaris dining room table off to be sold (it was just too big for my new place). Junior and Jesus wrapped it so carefully you would have thought they were transporting a treasure from Buckingham Palace. Once my table sells I will receive a percentage of the profit. Kaiyo keeps the majority of the sale price, but remember, they are doing all of the hard work. I'm just happy to know that my table will enjoy a second life in home of someone who appreciates quality furniture. read more
