WORTHS Northside. Great food. But MOMS, surpassed everything! I want to come back some day and eat those Green Chicken enchiladas again. I've never tasted anything to compare it to. We needed a nice breakfast and we got delicious, freshly made food. I ordered a burrito and found it yummy with an amazingly generous amount of carne asada. My husband asked for something that wasn't on the menu (huevos rancheros) and the cook made it perfectly. The ladies who run this operation were clearly busy in the kitchen, but they were still welcoming, friendly and certainly interested in making our meal special. I think they have a lot of orders for takeout. We were the only customers at 11:00 AM. When we walked in, there were two tables that needed clearing, so they must have had customers earlier. Cute spot we stopped at to pick up breakfast burritos while on the road. It's very cozy with lots of locals in and out. The waitress was a kind elderly lady who was patient and took our order with grace. My picadillo and beans burrito was flavorful and the fam was happy with their egg and bacon burritos. Felt like I was at grandma's for breakfast. Would come back here again. read more

This little place is absolutely charming and wonderful. It's so clean and it feels like my Mom is making me food. I ordered two bacon and egg burritos added cheese and asked if they could add some potatoes and they said of course. I had to grab it to go and let me tell you it was delicious and do not I say DO NOT sleep on the homemade brownies in there because they are heaven in your mouth. I'm so glad I bought more to take to my son. The owners are so welcoming and so sweet I felt so at home right away. I will definitely be making a point to stop on my way home. If you are on the road and tired of the fast food you have consumed while on your long trip you have to stop here and get a taste of home instead but better read more

Just off the beaten path, Mom's Kitchen Express is a quaint and cozy little spot that serves fresh delicious home cooked meals. Their breakfast burritos are big and the salsa is a bit spicy but I have no complaints. Server was friendly and accommodating to our 6-person party. read more

This place is awesome. It's family owned and you can tell it's beloved by locals and truck drivers alike - at least 5 people stopped in for a to go order during our lunch. The food is authentic Mexican - I had a breakfast burrito and hubby had a combo platter with chicken and cheese enchiladas. I'd def opt for the chicken enchiladas next time - they were fantastic. Okay, been on the road from Sweetwater heading to El Paso. After 3 1/2 hours of driving, it was lunch time. Looked up some food options and the usual gas station, fast food came up. Then found Mon's Kitchen in Van Horn Texas. Boy...great surprise in store for us! Small establishment, four tables, shareable but greeted immediately by Daughtet / Mother team. Had taco plate with rice and bean...hot off the stove! Fresh tortilla holding in the beef, rice and beans tasty...and actually enhanced with some of my wife's asado burrito. Special to see chunks of pork swimming in rice and beans. Our friend had taco and verde enchilada...he announced "Best Mexican food I have ever had!". Bought the homemade banana bread, with pecans picked directly from their tree! What a special dessert...so so good. Okay, Mom's Kitchen may not get the recognition of a Michelin Star restaurant...but if you're passing by...and you don't stop here for a meal...you're making a HUGE mistake!
