Seriously beautiful but seriously dangerous, so don't take your kids! If you haven't been out here, it is so worth the drive. If you don't have a Jeep, you'd probably want to come in from 313, not 191. It's about 5 miles along the dirt road. Not sure I'd do it in anything but a 4WD! But maybe that's just me. I would thoroughly recommend checking this place out.

Wow, what an amazing experience!…read more We drove our nearly stock Land Rover to Moab from Salt Lake to do a little bit of exploring. Our initial plan was to drive the easy trails, but after doing some inquiring, we decided on reaching out to portal off road tours to have a guide with us. This was probably the best decision of the trip. It allowed us to do much more adventurous trails than we originally planned. First and foremost, Brenden, who I spoke with on the phone to set up the tour, was amazing and helped me understand what to expect. We set up two separate trips... One easier one on the first day called fins and things and the full hells revenge tour on day two. The company was very helpful and offered advice since we are brand new to this and thought it would be best to try the easier tour first, which we must say is still pretty intimidating. We appreciate them wanting to make sure we didn't ruin our vehicle. Our guide was Jason and he showed up on time and very excited to take us out. Jason was incredible and honestly one of the best people we've met in a long time. You can tell he's passionate about this activity which showed up as soon as we hit the trail. He made us feel very comfortable, allowing me to take our vehicle on some pretty incredible trails. He also was able to give us some history/background on the area as well as some key bits of information regarding the skill set required to do these trails by yourself. He offers to take pics and videos of us on some cool spots and we appreciate the extra time in making our experience that much better. I could not recommend this more as these two adventures that we went on were the highlight of our trip. Jason was our guide on both days and he was incredible, but I'm sure Brenden would also do a great job as he also takes tours out in a separate jeep. If you have time, definitely go on a trip with them. You can take your own vehicle or go ride along with them in their well equipped jeeps. One thing that makes them unique is they are one of the few companies that take you up hells gate. I must say this is an experience you will not regret! Absolutely incredible. Landscape Arch is the thin and longest arch in this NP. we found lot of cute creatures here: deer and squirrels. after the landscape arch, the trail to Double O Arch is primitive, it looks like a difficult trail, so we stopped at this arch.

Landscape Arch is within the Devils Garden area of Arches National Park. It's about a 2 mile hike…read moreroundtrip on Devils Garden Trail. The entire Devils Garden Trail is around 8 miles roundtrip if you keep going past Landscape Arch. You can also see the Double O Arch along the way. My buddy and I did this hike to Landscape Arch and found it easy and enjoyable. The only bad thing is that we visited during the winter season and found ourselves slipping on the ice on the trail. Landscape Arch is pretty long at 306 feet and is the longest in North America. It is pretty narrow at the center (only 6 feet) due to large segments of rock breaking off over time. But the arch is still hanging in there. They don't let anyone get near it anymore to try and preserve it. I really enjoyed the beautiful views of this hike and seeing this massive arch in person.

But I remember the get-up steep climbs and roll as fast as you trust your skills flying down. Figuratively speaking, pissed my breeches as I started. Mister Scaredy-Cat ripped, fat tire gripped into the flow over a few enormous slick slabs--youi know, let go, because it's all about that flow, that flow! Felt good again like I remember 4 years ago! Follow sort of close to the white dashed lines showing the best line to ride the trail. Along the way, I hooked with Cameron from Denver. He was cranking big thighs on a Salsa Spearfish like me. What's the chance? Salsa Spearfishes, mine green and Cam's black, slamming Slickrock having a slick-time! And OMG! Sights--an endless view of rolling red rock and the Colorado river too. We did one loop. It's a grinding workout (do it clockwise) on ups and a tense drop down--all a blast and why we love it! If you have seen pictures or been to Canyonlands and Arches National Park near Moab, then, the Slickrock trail is more of that, only you can go Gonzo with your mountain bike. Spectacular terrain, check this ride off your bucket list!

On several levels: MANAGEMENT: The folks are easy to speak to, one-on-one and very responsive. They'll take care of any unique needs you might have. They just want to get it right. This is a very service-oriented team. GUIDES: every single one of the guides we've had has had some sort of "get 'er done" training. My goodness -- they wake up so early and hep with EVERYTHING: tents, food and cooking, bike repair, ideas for fun in town, and of course how to best ride! -- anything and everything. DA FOOD : OMG THE FOOD IS SO GOOD. This is gourmet eating, breakfast, lunch and dinner. And coffee and cold cereal available before the main hot breakfast, and appetizers before dinner! What the heck??? Oh, and there are endless snacks available. Don't bring any snacks! I thought with all the exercise I was going to get, I would lose weight! These guys won't let that happen with all the great food they throw at you... :) SPECIALITY REQUESTS: My family is vegan, and the guides go above and beyond to make sure that not only was there plenty of vegan options available, but to make sure that no one else ate the vegan food before my family finished it. They also were very good about not cross-contaminating -- a HUGE plus. SO, if you have ANY dietary or allergy restrictions, you feel totally safe. GREAT FOR FAMILY BONDING: They understand that some kids and adults are slower than others. They meet everyone at their level -- whatever that might be. My youngest one was a bit slower than the other kids on the trail, but he was the youngest in the group and never felt out of place and left behind. The guides were awesome with him. TRAILS, BIKING SKILLS, EXERCISE AND FUN: Your riding will improve massively on these trails, which are epic and beautiful. The guides choose the very best trails, and they are AWESOME. There are never ending other fun things to do (depending on the trip): hikes and tubing, or just goofing around in camp with kids' stuff and games and stories. You will be amazed how much exercise you will get and not even know it! The fun factor here is also great. really great. They are prepared for everything: sunscreen, snacks. took kits and repair stuff, lights -- everything. Will I do yet another Western Spirit trip next year? Yes, for sure. The challenge is which one?
