Who knew I'd come to a little Mexican Island for the most exquisite Italian food. All the pastas are homemade and it shows. We started out with their meatballs (cut with a fork tender) and mussels (delish). Their Cesar salad was equally amazing and could be shared with 3 people. I had the lobster fettuccine Alfredo, so so good! My husband had the seafood pasta that came out foil wrapped and steaming. Seafood was tender full of flavor. Their ragu meat sauce tortellini was homemade and the sauce was heavenly! Even the pepperoni pizza had great crust and sauce flavor. Size was big! We sat outside on the cobblestone street where they come by and play music, such an amazing experience. Service is friendly! Oh and our wine and cosmopolitan perfect! This is a must stop in Isla Mujeres

Great service, excellent food, and really enjoyed the off menu cocktail (whiskey sour)

One of the best restaurants on the island. Great service they were very attentive and the food was great we got the fried lasagna as an appetizers, salmon, spaghetti and meatballs as the entree and the two desserts were the best. Not expensive at all definitely give it a try

Friendly staff, very welcoming and accommodating for our orders via substituting sauces or pasta. Semi dressier vibe. Seated outside for a table of 4 & weather was beautiful. Daughter got her usual spaghetti with a sweet red sauce. She ate the entire bowl. I ordered the filleted fish limone capers. Very Delicious. Fruta Del Mar for my friend & she loved it. Chicken Alfredo which wasn't as creamy to me but daughter ate it all nonetheless. We all enjoyed our dinner & would recommend when in Isla Mujeres.

I made my reservation through Google messaging app. They were responsive and accommodated our birthday party. Food quality, service, and atmosphere were great.

So tasty! I got the basil and pine nut pasta and it was exactly what I needed tonight. The focaccia was yummy too, delivered with a cool bottle of vinegar and oil for dipping. Service wasn't super fast, but it was worth the wait.

The bread basket and dip- so darn good!

Walking out the backside of our hotel, we came across this gem. Preface: my son is a pizza, plain bread, chicken nuggets eating 9 year old. We ordered the Bruschetta (ahhmazing!) A bacon and cheese pizza (omg!) And the pasta carbonara (so darn delicious) my son tried everything. My husband and I were in shock. He could not stop eating and trying everything...and neither could we. Probably the best carbonara I've ever had. They serve fresh bread basket with the olive oil and vinaigrette dip. Thanks to the picky eater, we had 2 baskets. I am back in Cancun and I desperately want to go back! Lol. Give this joint a try, I think you'll love!

    So fantastic, fresh and fabulous!!

Back in town and this was a must once again! This time it was a little different for us.. So, let me tell you something, we were just in Sorrento, Positano and Rome, Italy and these Italian's here on the island of Mujer's can beat any dish that we had in Italy any day of the week - hands down..!!! The Burrata cheese was out of this world fresh and creamy. Then, their bread SO delicious! We had the Pesto pasta - my all time favorite - O.M.G - amazing. Then, the hubby had Tortellini with Italian sausage but the red sauce was so unique - amazing flavors!! Will be back to check out their Pizza..

I am unsure why on my seventh visit to the island, I finally made it to Mama Rosa. This place is absolutely amazing. They take really good care of you and welcome you from the minute you come in. They give you a nice little basket of bread and if you ask for it they'll bring you some olive oil and balsamic to dip it in. We came with a group of four so they were great they got us drinks and they got a nice bottle of wine and everybody was happy with it. I ordered the lasagna. It was out of this world. The first time I came I came with just a friend last week and I ordered the tricolor gnocchi. It was OK. I was not that thrilled but my friend had ordered the lasagna and let me have a bite. So when the girls got here I knew we had to go back and get some of this Yum Yum. So we started off with the bruschetta which was really really good and like normal bruschetta but still super yummy and then one of the girls got the salmon and the cream salmon. The other got the tomato and pasta. Overall everything was super happy with our meal.

It was okay for a Mexican island Italian. I know it sounds strange ti expect great Italian food in Mexico but it was actually decent. I don't know how much I would go back if I was on the island again but it was bad. The appetizers were where it was at. The bread basket and the bruschetta.

Before the first bite ever reaches your table, the aroma from the wood fired oven begins its quiet work, drifting through the dining room like an invisible invitation. We were greeted by the most beautiful hostess, wearing a smile that could stop time. She looked like she had stepped straight out of a Diego Rivera painting, her luminous skin glowing beneath the warm light, bold red lipstick blooming like a scarlet flower against a sleek black evening gown. Every feature seemed painted with deliberate confidence and striking contrast. Honestly, catching a glimpse of her was worth the visit alone. Then there was Jonathan, one of the bussers, a towering gentle giant whose quiet presence anchored the room. Despite his imposing stature, he possessed an intuitive understanding of the subtle choreography that defines exceptional fine dining. It often felt as though he could read our minds. Just as a question was beginning to form or a decision lingered between possibilities, he would appear with the recommendation we didn't yet know we needed. His timing was flawless, his attentiveness effortless, and his hospitality transformed service into something that felt choreographed!

We left the island on Sunday after being there 8 days. Had an amazing vacation there as we always…read moredo (this was our 6th visit). We stayed at a hotel right on Playa Norte near Ixchel. On Saturday night at a little after 10 pm, the pounding music started. Since my husband and I had to get up at 6 am to catch an early ferry and get to the airport, this was frustrating. By 11 pm I decided to walk out to the beach in the direction the music was coming from (which was toward Ixchel) to see what was going on. Honestly I thought it was just some people down on the beach partying. But no. As I approached Chimbo's which is a convenience store with an open air deck on the back of it, I noticed strobe lights and a DJ and his assistant (no one else inside whatsoever) cranking up the music so loud that when I went inside the music made my chest pound. Again, who was the music for? As there were zero patrons inside. I approached the assistant to ask if they could turn the music down a little because we had to catch an early flight and could hear the music 3 hotels away. I asked him if he was aware that there were literally hundreds of people inside the nearby hotels who weren't going to be able to sleep. He told me "No" over and over again...that he wouldn't turn it down. When I asked why he just shrugged his shoulders and blew me off. I then began to approach the dj himself to talk to him. After ignoring me for a few minutes he came around his equipment and slap/pushed me so hard on the right side of my chest that I almost fell flat on my face. Is this suitable behavior for a man to assault a woman? Very upset I went back to my hotel to ask if she could call the police because I had been assaulted. I then went back with the front desk person at my hotel to try to get her to talk to them. They flat refused to lower the volume. A woman who claimed to be one of the owners got in my face when I also asked her if she could turn it down and if she was aware that there were hundreds of people that weren't going to sleep tonight because of this. She cussed at me and told me "I dont care!". Cops were called. And of course they did nothing. The music seemed to only get louder and went on til after 4 a.m. When we checked out the next morning there was another couple in the lobby saying they got no sleep either. I have a small bruise on my arm where I was slapped by this man and the owner of this fine establishment (sarcasm) "doesnt care" that they are not only keeping people awake but also knows that her employee hits women and also "doesnt care". Chimbo's. Just thought you should know.

We ended up at a dead end where a friendly guy let us know we couldn't go any farther. That's when we noticed we discovered a restaurant perfectly situated near the water, and it turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. The setting is absolutely stunning. Picture crystal blue waters just a few feet from your table. It's the ideal spot to soak in the island vibes while enjoying a meal. The only small downside was the occasional vendor stopping by to sell something or sing, but they weren't pushy, so it didn't take away from the experience. I ordered the agua chile, which was fresh, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying, loaded with perfectly sautéed shrimp. To top it off, I enjoyed an ice-cold Michelob Ultra--such a refreshing pairing. We only had a few hours on the island, but we couldn't have picked a better place to eat by accident. Chimbos delivered delicious food, great service, and breathtaking views. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Isla Mujeres!
