When a customer enters your establishment, say hi and be friendly, it takes nothing. So while the food was OK, I would pass on another visit because of the service alone. read more

So far what I had was the BBQ chicken, mac & cheese, and string beans. The chicken was fallen off the bone and tender,and juicy. The two side was good. I'm definitely going back to try the turkey wings. read more

I've had the smothered chicken in the past and liked that a little more than the Turkey wings. Though both were good and the Turkey wings are one of their popular items on grubhub. Collard greens were good both times and so was the meat but feel like the Mac both times (which I forgot this go round unfortunately) gave stove top. Just seemed underbaked. I know the new way with Mac n cheese, people often do a cheese sauce but still have had Mac made that way that's been more well baked/ still tasted like baked Mac n cheese. When stirring it, it stirs and mashed like stove top, versus it being a bit more stiff when trying to manipulate it. I'd order again but with the yams instead (they were good last time), didn't get them this time. Makes me want to give 3/3.5 stars because baked Mac is essential to a soul spot so sucks having to order rice or another starch from a soul food place. read more

This rating is for service not the food. The woman who answered the phone was so rude and short with me, that I didn't even get a chance to order the food. In this day and time if you want business you have to be polite. At least listen to what the customer is asking. I never tried the food before. I had Taste for some good ol soul food. There are few around and we found this place close by. If you read my other reviews, I am honest and supportive of local and small businesses. Had the food been good I would have given a better review. I guess we will never know. read more

So the lady tells me I'll be back!! I receive my order of Turkey Wings, Mac n Cheese, Collard Cabbage mix, and Rice and gravy. I open my plate and false advertisement smacks me in the face. The photo shows 2 Wings, but when I look there is this huge Leg part of the Wing and one Wing! I'm like WTF!!! This is the first place I've ever seen this. The Greens were awful. They were sweet and i've never had sweet Greens. The Mac N Cheese need major help. I'm guessing all of the good reviews came from family members. First we were craving some soul food; second we want to support african-american establishments. we drove 1/2hr to get here but it's well worth it. Curbside pickup. Owner (Momma) was so kind; asking us to call when we're about 1/2 way there so we pick up freshly cooked food. Came out to let my hubby know she was still cooking :-), awesome! whiting fish delish & fresh! chicken wings SO good! mac & cheese, cheesy but not creamy (i don't like creamy do i'm very happy); the candied yams are so good very flavorful but not overly sweet; a good sweet that offset all the fried. such a good combo. hubby ordered fried pork chops but hasn't tried it yet but they are fried, like fried chicken. this is our new go-to in Linden! ooooops i forgot ordered a slice of caramel vanilla cake that smells heavenly, but will eat later. Also, each dinner serving I think is enough for two servings. YUM! read more

This place was fantastic. The food sounded so good I couldn't make up my mind so I ordered 3 meals. I was not disappointed with any of it, the sides alone were some of the best I've had in a longtime. To top it off she called when it was done and I made a quick curbside pickup. The best place to get you some southern food! Really enjoy eating from Mammas whenever I am in town.

We have ordered take out twice here for the office. Great southern soul food. Fried pork chops, excellent. Great collard greens. The guys at the office love the whiting. If there is an downfall would be the menu selection, but everything on the menu we have tried it great. read more
