Sitting on the main road going through the Henderson shops this family run place has got to be one…read moreof the best cheaper chinese restaurants out in this city. Sure it's nothing special, no excessive decorating, you have to go through kitchen to get to toilet, handwritten ..some misspelt extras to the menu written on card sheets on the wall and no flash tables or chairs, but we like it how it is that's why we keep coming back ...and back again. The service is friendly, good atmosphere, nice food and the price is really good especially when comparing what you get to other places out there. Anyway specifically about the food...we have tried several different dishes over time but have now come to the point where we love it so much that we just order the whole duck everytime...this is eaten two ways ( 两吃 ) and maybe sometimes we order some veges too. The duck is cooked well and I could eat a lot more than what is given on the plate. So delicious it is!!! Other dishes we have eaten there over time meet the same standards. It can get busy at times as it is popular ....more so with locals. But no doubt there has been a few out of towners wander in now and then. They do take out also. If you are after some decent not badly priced chinese in the area definitely try here.

The sign stood there for several months stating " Yum Cha coming soon "...and we waited ..and waited..and now just last night it opened. At last!! Tucked in the back of the building at 130 Lincoln Rd it has a lot of parking , so no worries in regards to that. Upon entering just now you would notice the walls are pretty bare of any form of decoration, but i would think that they would want to " jazz " it up sometime soon. The welcome was good and we were shown quickly to a table. It was quiet when we arrived but upon leaving it had picked up quite a bit, including in two of the three private rooms they have. Anyway looking at the menu we ordered the Beef with cashew nut, cumin  lamb with pancake ( or bun if you rather call it that ) and as even at 7pm some of the Yum Cha menu was still available we ordered the blue egg porridge, bbq pork bun and custard bun. The porridge was the best i have tasted for a long time...sssoooo delicious!!...but don't forget them buns ... definitely tasty too. As for the other dishes... the beef was okay , but the lamb was far better. Maybe it's because i am partial to the dishes where you eat the meat wrapped inside the bun or pancake. They don't have a liquor licence yet, but you can still BYO. So anyway overall service was great, food was good ( the porridge being outstanding! ), atmosphere inside despite lack of decoration was very good and price reasonable. We ended up going for the silver platter - three meals all dumped on one big metal tray . For less then ten dollars each, Four of us had seconds and some left over for breakfast the next morning. Seriously, how does this man find the time.... The menu is very similar to New Flavour, so dumplings are a must - choose from such flavours, and my personal favourites, of Pork, prawn & chives, Mutton & onion and Egg, chives & prawn. You can order them steamed or fried, or even frozen to take them away & cook at home! Other dish recommendations are: Sliced dried tofu & cucumber salad if you can handle a tangy hit of chilli in the dressing, the Fried pancakes, any of the noodle dishes and the Deep-fried eggplant with pork mince stuffing. It is a spacious restaurant with lots of room for big groups of people, even the table for two had ample space. Neither my husband or I have been a big fan of Chinese food much in the past, but since I had walked past here a few times during the day and the place always had customers, that appeared to be a a good sign. Then I checked out their reputation on line and there was all good feedback in that department as well. We ordered the sizzling beef with ginger and sizzling (free range) chicken with black pepper, with rice to accompany the meal and jasmine tea to drink. Both dishes came sizzling their little hearts out on the cast iron and timber trays shaped like cows. Both were very generous in size, and the teapot seemed endless and never went cold. Wing Wah managed to change our criticism on Chinese food; neither dish was too oily, too salty or overcooked. The ingredients used looked and tasted fresh and delicious. Overall high quality, authentic Chinese food. The meal was quality and thus price reflected, just over $40 for all that I mentioned above. The website is a bit strange however - There is no menu at all on the site (even though they offer takeaway), and the food gallery link had three pictures! C'mon guys!

Ordering over the phone is no problem and the food is always on time. Pick up is easy too because the car park is right in front of the complex. I plan to pop in for yum cha soon :)
