Nice and clean but there is no one around to help most of the time. Machines worked well but the restroom is always locked! I spilled detergent on my hands and had no way to wash it off. :( There is no available restroom on that side of Simms Way so you have to take your life in your hands if you need to go and cross that busy street to use the restaurant's restroom. read more

I rarely use laundry mats, since we were traveling. We stopped here. Was very nice. Facility was clean and even gave you a 50's flair. I thought it was cute and a very neat idea to have names for the washer and dryers. Each row had two washing machines, and two dryers at the end. So you did not have to move from one spot to another. I have never used a laundromat like this one: the place is clean, the machines work and work well--even the change machine! Important for an old guy like me, there is a bathroom and, best of all, an attendant who is not only cheery and personable but downright helpful. I live in Port Townsend and go to this laundry mat every week. I have to say it is the nicest one I've ever used, and feels homey with the decor and the friendliness of the great staff and owner. It is clean. Especially during this Covid-19 crisis, I have observed very diligent cleanliness here, and hand sanitizer is available on the shelf to use as well as a bathroom with soap/water, and the two doors are kept open so the air is moving. read more

The basics: there are almost always empty machines. Carol's provides a variety of detergent (house detergent starts at 35 cents; prices go up for name brands). They're close to the water where the hotels are. Laundry is $2.25/load, but you can fit a lot of clothes in there. I've never reviewed a laundromat and I've used them all over the country. Mom's is very clean and the owner and other employees I've met are personable and helpful. I've used some rough laundromats in my life, and this is not one of them. Quick note for travelers (on anyone else). When checking in to a local hotel we indicated we needed some laundry done. Mom's was suggested. We called and were told if we brought the clothes over soon we could have them back the same evening. This is what we did. We were told they would be ready in about 1.5 h and we were called in 1.5 hours to say they were done. They were perfectly laundered and the price was very reasonable. So we are back to having clean clothes to continue our travels with no hassles and no lost time. We were delighted! What great service!! read more

Went in here about 5:30pm with a ton of clothes to wash. The attendant was a very very friendly woman, and extremely helpful. Costs 2.50 per load at the washers, not sure how much the dryer was. There is one large washer that cost 5-5.50 (can't recall exactly) and it does a good 3 loads (1 load you could fit in the normal washers). It was awesome, cleaned great, didn't take long at all. There was only two other people there, but not for long. Nice to not feel pressure washing my clothes. From what I could tell the small dryers (not the ones near the bigger wash machine) didn't dry so well. A couple people had to use different dryers, so beware the ones against the west wall. *Also important they have lots of things to keep you occupied! Yahtzee, magazines, books, kids toys, etc. Also complementary coffee/tea and drinks for 1.10 from the fridge. And chairs + tables to fold your clothes! read more

Mom's is the best laundromat in the world. Not that I've been to all of them, but I've been to many. I went to a lot of them in Spain and if they had something half as cool as Mom's, they'd be lucky. It would be closed in the middle of the day, like all other businesses in Spain, but that's ok. I wouldn't even mind if Mom's was closed for siesta here in Port Townsend; actually, I'd love it even more because of that. The proprietor is cool, kind and runs her business smartly, with a flair of friendliness that is very welcoming. The place is clean and the service is exemplary and fast, with great pricing. What more can I say? Just stop reading this already and go there, see for yourself and get your stuff clean. You'll look better, feel better and want to tell your friends about Mom's Laundromat, the best laundromat in the world. 5 stars! read more

As a visitor to Port Townsend, I was dreading spending a couple of quality hours in a laundromat on a holiday, but Mom's Laundromat (formerly Carol's, it appears) is an inviting place: very clean, well-lit, staffed by a very nice attendant, and well-stocked with reading material (the New Yorker!), board games, beverages, free WiFi, and even rolls of quarters, thank goodness. The two sets of machines I used were large and worked perfectly. I certainly won't dread visiting Mom's next time. Highly recommended! read more

This laundromat is the cleanest I have ever seen! It's hard to find laundromat these days that aren't a dump. The woman working I believe her name was Melissa, welcomed us with a big smile and was very friendly. I would highly recommend going to this place for your laundry needs. read more
