Delicious ice cream! I got the banana pudding ice cream in a waffle cone. The waffle cone was so good and homemade. They use local ingredients and some of their mix-ins for flavors come from the bakery right across the street. Loved the interior of this place, plenty of outdoor seating by the water. Service was great! Biscuit loved her pup cup.

We were greeted with a smile and offered samples. The girls had already decided on vanilla but it was nice to get the sample so they were sure! I had a taste and i liked how fresh it tasted. I had the hazelnut chocolate pretzel flavor and it was decadent. Only a few seats inside and two tables outside so I guess they want you to walk around with it? I had two kids with me so we sat at the tables at The Welk (they were closed).

My friend and I had dinner in the area and decided to stop here for dessert. The shop is clean, inviting and modern. And the service was wonderful and prompt. They don't have a huge variety of flavors but the flavors they do offer are unique and delicious. We both enjoyed our scoops and views of the Saugatuck River. It's definitely a spot I'd return to.

Best ice cream of my LIFE. Salted caramel and lavender marshmallow. Both gluten free (gf) and lots of other gf options as well.

Momu was bustling on a beautiful Saturday evening! We were grateful the kind staff member went to the back to replace the flavor we were most interested in and they had previously sold out of (malt chocolate crunch)! It was delicious. Pricey but we were happy to support a new local business. There was ample outdoor seating with some indoor seating as well. A great fit for Westport!

Pro tip for anyone trying to avoid the absolute chaos of the main lot: pull in using the George Ave entrance and park over there. It's a total game-changer for getting in and out fast. Most people know this place because it was on Ripley's Believe it or Not! back in the day for being the world's largest dairy store, but it's honestly just an institution. Right when you walk in, you see that huge stone tablet with their customer service rules--basically saying the customer is always right, and if they're wrong, re-read rule number one. Supposedly the founder, Stew Sr., put it up after arguing with a lady over some sour eggnog decades ago until his wife checked him. It definitely stuck, because in two decades of shopping here, I have literally never had a bad customer experience. The staff is always so solid. They have everything--a great bakery (the Apple Cider Donuts are legendary), a massive seafood section with fresh lobster rolls daily, a killer meat department where I usually grab lamb steaks, and a seasonal garden center and "Little Farm" with goats and ducks that the kids love. They even have a food truck outside now. But if I'm being completely real? Half the time I roll up here, I am solely there for one thing: the hot bar. They have the absolute best wings around, specifically the Spicy Italian ones. I will literally drive over just to grab a container of those wings for lunch. A few quick heads-up things: download their app before you go because the loyalty program rewards actually add up pretty quick, and definitely remember to bring your own bags. Oh, and grab a soft serve on your way out. Essential Norwalk experience.

He told…read moreme he's advised not to tell customers ingredients, but that I could scan the QR code and check myself. Honestly, that part was totally fine with me -- I'd much rather confirm for myself what I can and can't eat anyway. What wasn't fine was hearing him make a rude comment in an annoyed tone to the friends I was with while I was taking the time to check ingredients. My friend didn't want to make a big deal out of it and just told him it was okay and she'd take her ice cream as is. After checking everything, I specifically told him the safest option for me was the vegan peanut butter honeycomb. I walked outside, took one bite, and immediately had to spit it out -- it was cookie dough. After explaining I can't have gluten, taking the time to carefully check ingredients, and being told he couldn't give me product information... I somehow still ended up with a cup full of gluten. Thankfully my reaction isn't as severe as it could be for someone else, but that is a huge concern and could be genuinely dangerous for another customer. Mistakes happen, but between that, the rude attitude toward my friend, and the dismissive demeanor he had with other customers while we were there, it made for an overall pretty bad experience. And to top it off, it was easily some of the most overpriced ice cream I've ever bought.

Don't mind the long lines, crowds of people, or the 500,000 vehicles eating, sleeping, and roaming these roads of East Norwalk. Trust me, this place is worth all the traffic! I've been coming here almost every summer since I found this place back in 2015. There's usually several people already in line by the time I arrive, but it's never a long wait. It gives me just enough time to decide what ice cream I want to try, what toppings I want, and how I want to pay for my ice cream. I've always been more of a sundae guy because that means I have a far less chance of my ice cream spilling, and so that's basically always what I get here. Today's sundae was a large Chocaholic with peanuts, cheesecake bites, whipped cream, hot fudge, and cherries. Yeah people, I am a chocolate lover. Don't like it? Deal with it! And as always, my ice cream was top-notch delicious! What truly makes these experiences magical is the location. Yes, I know it's not directly next to the water, but this leads into one of my favorite Connecticut summer pass times ever! To optimize my experience, I would carry my ice cream over to the Overton's dock, sit on a bench that's right at the end of the dock, face the water, and enjoy away on a nice summer day. I love to feel the sea breeze caress my skin as I look over the harbor, ice cream in hand. I love to imagine myself riding on a boat, or maybe sit at the edge of a pier, feet dangling just mere inches over the water as I enjoy my summer treat. It's always a soothing sensation, and I only need to walk a very short distance to make it happen. Mr. Frosty's, I love you so!

I had read some suspiciously positive reviews about Dairy King on Yelp, and ordered a cheeseburger and fries. I get that generations of Norwalkers and others have fond memories of their time here, and it was with that fact in mind that I ignored my intuition and entered the outdated, near-empty facade just after noon. For the new and unititiated, a word of admonition: do not let your senses fool you. Dairy King looks like a dive, and tastes like a dive, and not in any delicious way. I get that going pretty much anywhere for ice cream on a hot summer day is fun. What I do not get are comments here asserting that Dairy King's food, particularly their burgers are anything more than mediocre, studiously average at best, and a dubious step up over major chains. To all who will, in the the romantic twilight after Little League games or movies, arrive at Dairy King hungry and ready and willing to scarf down just about anything, I hope for your sake that good experiences continue, that fine memories of family and friends are created and then savored in the hopefully delicious silence of your unfolding life. But for me Dairy King is far behind even the middle of the pack in it's chosen catagory, my days of eating "just about anything" are well behind me, and Dairy King will have to take it the rest of the way without me, at least until the day the real estate developers lean on City Hall to condemn that section of Main Avenue (under a phonied-up interpretation of the eminent domain statutes) and Dairy King inevitably (and blessedly) falls to the wrecking ball, destined to become mixed-use retail with residential up above.
