I've tried ice cream all over CT and I just keep coming back. When I'm home from college I go around once a week because their ice cream is just so good. My favorite flavors are red velvet, mud, chocolate fudge brownie, and banana cream pie. We also love the chocolate covered strawberry shake. Their sorbet is really good too. Chocolates are divine, the best ones are the caramel crunch bar, caramel marshmallow, and hazelnut chocolates.They also have dole whip!! Their candy sections downstairs is really cute and decorated like a classic corner candy store. In the winter don't miss their hot chocolate! A sweets lover's paradise. They have a section for ice cream, I was able to enjoy a sugar free ice cream while my girlfriend took advantage of their many options. I appreciated the fact they had a sugar free option. In addition, they also had a section of chocolates made at the premises. Lots of options, but of course they also had a sugar free section. I loved the fact they had options for me to enjoy. Being diabetic, it is hard to enter a place like this and not be able to enjoy something good. I ordered several pieces of their sugar free milk chocolate almond bark. The store had several tables and chairs where you can enjoy your sweets. A very nice place. Sometimes it's hard to find the ice cream flavor you're craving, but this place has so many you'd be hard pressed not to find at least 10 or more that you're dying to try. What sets this apart for me though is the variety of different cones it has to offer. All different colors and flavors of not just waffle cones but cookie cones as well, which adds layers of flavor and fun to the already awesome ice cream experience. Despite a small line the service was very quick and like most ice cream shops this one offers free samples to try the ice cream flavor you want before you fully commit to a cone, which is really important given all the amazing flavors they have to offer. Totally deserves all these great reviews. They moved locations into this huge space with chocolate and homemade ice cream upstairs and candy downstairs. Their homemade ice cream is the star of the show, like what you'd get in Wisconsin. Old fashioned, dairy, creamy, fresh, goodness. Their chocolate is also very good, not top-notch but close! I have nothing but incredible things to say about this place. As a chocolate lover, I have had my fair share of chocolate, but there's is seriously some of the better tasting ones I've had. My absolute favorite thing to get from here are the milk chocolate sea salt caramels. They have the perfect amount of salt so if you love salty sweet combos, these are just right. This place also bring me back to my childhood because they carry a brand of chocolate that I used to always have as a kid. They are super hard to find so I love that they are available here. Besides the amazing chocolate items, they also have ice cream, and other fun candies such as sour and sweet treats. I'm obsessed with this sweet shoppe. My friend brought me in here as part of his town tour and I left spending over $50. But soooooo well worth it. So many different Harry Potter candy options, and the back room with all the candy is a can't miss stop. We also treated ourselves to some ice cream and I got a flavored cone with the Pride flavor for the month. I was a little disappointed because I got the orange cone and not the pink one I wanted, but it was still tasty. read more

This is the finest, most delicious, happiest place in the area. Since moving into their brand new, spacious building, this place has only gotten better. Friendly service is staffed mostly by local teens. The homemade chocolate is second to none and the ice cream is fantastic! You can also buy candy like M&Ms in bulk with your combination of colors or even old-fashioned candy that is difficult to find. So as of June 18, 2022, I am upgrading my review from 3 stars to 4 stars after today's visit. First off, I found it so commendable that Mike responded back to my previous not so stellar review that really was based on staff rather than quality and product which Deborah and Mike have truly mastered after so many years. Today's experience was like it was back in 2010! Happy staff, cognizant of customers entering and greeting them...attentive to service and smiling. It looked like there were a few new faces and they were all happy to be there. As for soft serve - always delish here and my chocolate square sprinkles were back!! Thank you D&M for speaking to your staff. I completely get that COVID made monsters out of many customers but some of us still have manners and are super cordial and it was great to have that reciprocated today by your staff! read more

I get the same shake everywhere I go (coffee shake!) and this is by far the best one. It does get busy (avoid Friday afternoons when the school kids pile into town!) but they usually have plenty of staff serving. Love the different options available and the decor. Just rude side eyes, slow movement, blank stares, and acting like they don't work there. Every single time. Another con; their prices are super high for what they're offering. Be prepared to spend $50 on ice cream for a family of four. The chocolates, while tasty, aren't anything special and are equally overpriced. A very small box of chocolates can be $45+ They're made with the same palm oil-laden chocolate as cheap chocolate manufacturers. The selection is impeccable! Everything is homemade. There are so many options of chocolate/candy which makes it the perfect place to grab gifts for the holidays.
